Human Blue Mage 4

Did the knight ping on the spirit sense? It detects among other things, undead

After breaking from his reverie, Akela calls upon the natural forces once more, tapping into the ley lines to increase his power.
SNAII, Summoning a small mud elemental for 4 rounds at Y18

From the slurry and muck of the ground, a vaugely humanoid form coalesces to strike at the red armoured being before it. The thick slurry threatens to harden and trap the knight were he stands.

Alaire lifts his blade into the air, his voice lifting in volume as he chants, 'Adest, grant this humble servant thy blade to strike down this abomination in thy name!"

Standard Action: Cast Spiritual Weapon (at W18, Marked with SW)

A knight's blade, black as night and wreathed in a ghostly fog materializes into view beside Jager, slashing swiftly toward his exposed back.

Spiritual Weapon Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Spiritual Weapon Damage {Force Damage}: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Alaire takes a short movement back, bracing his shield and lowering his sword into an attack form, readying himself to charge next round.

Misc Action: 5 Foot Step to Y14

Lindyn't tugs Sylvie's reins hastily, turning her around to watch the battle unfold. Vance's well timed spell gave the entire group an upper hand for the time being but soon the red knight will be back on his feet and that spells great danger for lithe little Nichelle. "Protect the girl! he calls back to his allies. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that the Jager aberration will work to recover his weapon upon recovery.

Alaire/Deiros - If it's easier to track spiritual weapon with the sword icon I placed to represent my dropped weapon, feel free to use it. Yes, it's a Narnia sword. It seemed fitting. I tried getting Squall's Lion pendant but I couldn't find a good pic.

Are there rules for two people sharing a mount? I considered either picking Nichelle up next turn or giving her control of Sylvie depending on if she's up to it. I'd like to get as much difference between the lancer and his lance as possible.

GM W.R. Monger

There are no rules, but I would say that the one on the back cannot attack and would be a bit extra weight lowering the mount speed also,

Vance Funny thing about being alive. All kinds of little weaknesses. as he releases a spray of all color to Jaeger face disorienting him and disarming him for a moment.

Nichelle dives in with an amazing burst of speed surpassing even the Lindynt's charge to retrieve the weapon.

I finally found Spirit Sense... and yes you detect an outsider, let's say it is more of a possession of Jaegers body, but you cannot really tell, so for you it's kind of a native outsider or an outsider of some sort

Lindynt's charge hit's Jaeger making him release an inhuman groan from such attack. as he looks at the rest of the fight unfold and notices Nichelle with Jaeger's weapon. Protect the girl!

Alaire Adest, grant this humble servant thy blade to strike down this abomination in thy name! as a knight's blade, black as night and wreathed in a ghostly fog materializes into view beside Jager, slashing swiftly toward his exposed back.

Akela chants in his nature voice taping the ground to summon a creature from slurry and muck of the ground, a vaugely humanoid form coalesces to strike at the red armoured being before it. The thick slurry threatens to harden and trap the knight were he stands. The elemental attacks but misses

JaegerYou fools!! As he begins to recover some sense I will show you my true powers then!

Gentle Rest (Sp): Your touch can fill a creature with lethargy, causing a living creature to become staggered for 1 round as a melee touch attack. If you touch a staggered living creature, that creature falls asleep for 1 round instead. Undead creatures touched are staggered for a number of rounds equal to your Wisdom modifier. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Staggered:
Staggered: A staggered creature may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can he take full-round actions). A staggered creature can still take free, swift and immediate actions. A creature with nonlethal damage exactly equal to its current hit points gains the staggered condition.

I suppose you provoke an AoO from coming close enough? He is not undead so it would be sleeping. Is there a save?

M Romandan Human Templar 3

No save, it is a touch attack. Since the touch connected he is affected per the ability automatically.

As for the AoO, not sure. Shouldn't provoke an attack but you didn't really say what he was using for a weapon... If he is like Jager was, it wouldn't since he was using a glaive guirasame which from what I can see isn't a reach weapon. As I'm just moving up to him that should not provoke either unless he readied an action to attack?

M Romandan Human Templar 3

The question does give Alaire a momentary pause before he firmly responds, "Do it. The effect will not last long and this is but a mere mockery of who he once was. I pray he moves on peacefully this time without the meddling of that demon. If this is a mistake, I will bear the burden and consequences of asking for this of thine."

Lindynt nods then thrusts the blade from the collar diagonally through Jager's chest and into his heart. At least where it had been when he was human.

The enemy soldiers are all slain or fled beyond sight. The kobolds lick their wounds and surround their leader as a small reinforcement of soldiers dismount their chocobos and approach the group

Master Reinholdt! Yells one of the soldiers I've come with I could muster as he then finally notices the two big guards in crimson armor on the floor, the soldiers run towards them and surround them speaking words of lament and remembrance lost in their moment.

Lindynt lingers upon his chocobo as she makes a few squat motions and flutters her wings to sprinkle a oily substance in the air, covering herself and Lindynt. Quickly the balm solidifies and disappears, their wounds with it.

Choco Cure (+ Lindynt): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

The knight dismounts and begins towards the reinforcements, offhandedly putting to rest a gargling soldier stirring on the floor in the visceral remains of a large scale battle. "May you find some rest knowing that they died protecting their lands and their master from harm; with their swords in hand. We have slain the foot soldiers and what appears to be the general but we have yet to find the lord one to have set this in motion. A man called the Crimson Blade. Perhaps you know of him?"

Is Jager's glaive enchanted? Also, does he have any noteworthy loot on him? Him or any of these soldiers for that matter.

M Romandan Human Templar 3

The glaive was not in the mud, Nichelle had grabbed it from him during the combat and previously stabbed into the ground some distance from Jager's body. Additionally, I think Alaire would have other priorities than looting his former traveling companion...not to mention that's more than a little bit disrespectful.

The summoned knight's blade vanishes in a swirl of fog as Alaire tromps across the battlefield to Lindynt's side. His voice is respectful but tinged with a sense of urgency as he addresses him and the knights, "Get thy answers quickly if thou can. Jager's presence here indicates something more foul at work, more than likely the summoned being we encountered at the town. I suggest we seek our answers inside and quickly if possible."

Human Blue Mage 4

I figured the ground was still generally muddy outside.

"If this is true I would see him skewered on the weapon he equipped the corpse of our departed companion with," Lindynt says with fierce defiance as he removes his helmet. He could not feel at least partly responsible for what had happened to Jager. Denying him a proper burial seemed a forgivable misdeed at the moment but a cursory glance of the scene before him was more than enough to shake the thought. One of the crimson armored knights before him had paid for the shortsightedness of the party's actions.

"Alair, how long would it take for you to give these men the same treatment you served Jager? We cannot afford to give the demon more bodies to reanimate carrying his will. The rest of us can resupply, the coming battle may call for more than we are currently equipped with." He calls Sylvie to his side and whistles a command which sends her bounding off in search of meaningful supplies.

"If thou mean the spell I blessed his body with, I am granted one each day by my Lord. I could potentially prepare one extra. It would take time I fear we are not graced with. I will do what I can in any case, once we are certain this keep secured and not festering with either the fiend or more of his ilk." Alaire shakes his head sadly as he speaks, occasionally glancing toward the Keep with concern. He matches steps with Lindynt, watching the chocobo take off running at his command. He searches the grounds a few moments for Nichelle, beckoning her over once he catches sight of her.

"Having Nichelle scout ahead might might be of some aid, though I would prefer not too far. Having one of us get caught alone would be a death sentence, but having foresight of what is to come could give us an advantage. Thy thoughts, Sir Auroral? And thou, Nichelle?"

"Apologies, my lord. I am but a knight, not a noble. The power behind my name no longer carries the value that yours or Vance's does. I would not like to see you deceived through calling me by unsanctioned or undeserved titles," Lindynt laments as he picks through the remains of the battle.

"Unfortunate news. This keep feels heavily weighted by the influence of something vile. We can only hope that our foe is incapable of performing the same deed on these soldiers in the time it takes for us to find him." The scarlet cloaked knight stops in the midst of his search to brush his sweat soaked hair from his forehead and try to find a breath of fresh air in the blood thickened halls of the Red Keep. A fitting name provided the scene before him.

"I find it unsettling that this taint has followed us thus far. The demon seems to feed on chaos and disorder but to what end? Why was it summoned and who could have something to gain by it's emergence?"

Human Blue Mage 4

There is a possible solution to insure the finality of death. Should the body be destroyed through fire or blade, it stands to reason that it cannot be reanimated.

Nichelle was a bit absent-minded at the moment, retrieving her pack and looking at the glaive-- a weapon, she would admit to having absolutely no desire to learn-- with an appraising eye. Alaire calling her name made her look to him, reviewing what he had suggested.

"I am.. capable milord, but my pack overburdens me for it. If it is your wish that I serve as such, it will be done." Common sayings of women packing heavy aside, the pack may not have been much for perhaps one of the others, but on her frame, it was more than she could move with comfortably, as evidenced by the trip to the keep.

The darkening sky and laughter did make her uneasy, and she cast a wary glance upwards, her hands securing the length of braid around her throat, snugging it close so that it would not come loose. She then turned her eyes to the keep as she took a deep breath, and nodded to herself.

"I will scout." Hopefully they would not have to leave here in a hurry. She could just find an alcove and stow her pack. Empty-handed, she strode ahead.
