"Alright. Here's my idea. If the sensor relies on sight, it stands to reason that if all it sees is an empty room, whoever or whatever is monitoring it won't notice us." Von-Dai pulls out the Shard of Pride. "We open the door, then I use this to create an illusion of the room as though nothing has changed. We enter under the cover of the illusion, and hopefully the entity monitoring the sensor is none the wiser."

A flight of stairs coils up around this column, passing through an opening in the ceiling thirty feet above. Several doors lie in the chamber’s walls. The room itself features a large amount of ancient and archaic but no less frightful-looking torture implements. Inside is one Greymaden pouring over maps and other documents.

He points at a grey stripe on his clothing before miming himself as a woman -- repeating the sequence three times before looking for any recognition from his colleagues, and then holding up a single finger.

I could resist the slight misunderstanding. It made me giggle inside.
