Kahru looks at his allies and nods, then follows Kaya through the house toward the back of the bank, Nokka padding softly behind.

Oiur whistles a low note and taps their chest once as they leave the storehouse for the bank of Abadar. (Casting heightened awareness.)
—
"Spires, but they're big. That's about it for my assessment. Hopefully they can't fit inside and we won't find any waiting for us." Oiur grimaces towards the hulking demons, then ducks into the house behind Kahru and Nokka.
They cock a crimson eyebrow when the paper creature assumes its perch on Kaya's shoulder. Intriguing. Clever work! They nod at Takumi, appreciating his craftsmanship.

Kaya slips out towards the rear of the building and notes the building is solid walls all around. What she does notice, is a few loose cracked stones in the side passageway that look like they are made of the same material the bank is built of, yet can't work out where they came from.
Zyneste noticed the same thing too.

![]() |

Sensing the excitement from Kizuo, Takumi moves over to join them at the side passage. When Kaya points out the cracked stones, he moves closer to examine with his sharp elven eyes, jiggling it to see if it would come loose.

The little scorpion scrambles through the downed wall and into the shadows finding a small group of halflings currently ransacking the bank.
"That hole in the wall was lucky wasn't it?"
"Big guys out front don't even realize we are here! Not get that gold into the bags! Never know when more demons might show up."
"Right-o Boss. Who'd have thought that an invasion would be this good for us!"

![]() |

Takumi quickly relays what he's seen to the rest of the party. "It appears that we are not to first to discover this illusion. Looters are going through the area as we speak. This humble one suggest we confront them quickly before what we came to collect are taken."

![]() |

"Yes, let's!" Kahru raises his earth breaker and strides in.

GM Sedoriku |

The four halfling stop mid-gold bagging and stare in horror at the giant bear like human as it clambers through the illusion. "S~+& Alamao! You said that none of the demons would be able to see through your illusion!"
"I said they wouldn't likely, boss! Not that they couldn't!"
"Doesn't matter, we need to get out of here!"
The four reach for their weapons eyeing their escape routes.

GM Sedoriku |

The halflings prove a little more limber than the lumbering Kahru and spring into action quickly. Three of them draw short swords as they dive for the wall keeping out of the reach of the big bear demon thing but get blocked by Kaya and Takumi. "The bear demon brought human and elven friends!"
Caught up short, one of the thieves decides to strike up a slightly anxious comedy routine. "Hey boys, would you imagine that, a demon with friends! Haha!" Despite the apparent lack of humor in the words the other halflings all give a chuckle and then settle down a little definitely a bit more ready to fight.
The second and thid tries to lay into Kaya, hoping taking her down would allow them to move on and get free of the bank with their loot. The first one in the green clothes misses the woman entirely, but the one in yellow is able to come up underneath his friends sword scoring a small scratch along Kaya's leg. A hit 5 damage to Kaya. He seems a little startled that the woman was able to dodge the worst of the blow. "Hey, boss, we've got a dexterous one here!"
The boss in all black gives the giant bear man thing and bear owl thing anxious look and steps closer to the opening drawing his sword and taking a swipe at the bear demon thing, but due to his distraction from his companion's commentary, olny catches air with his shortsword. "Eh, really? But that don't matter right now. We needs to get outta here. So just clear her from the opening!"

Hmm, think people haven't been updating their token position. A few did say they were following along.
"In a time where the populace is in need, yet you are making personal profits out of the chaos. You truly are scum where the light do not shine," Takumi declares disdainly. He takes a step back, grabs a bunch of sparking dust and flings at the couple directly ahead.

Green catches sight of the dust in time to realize that the motes of light were just a spell, closing his eyes and willfully disbelieving in the glitter. However, Yellow completely misses it and catches the effect full on. "Ahhh what is this light? It burns my eyes!"
"It's a spell, dummy."
"Still hurts!"

Teeth gritted from the jab, Kaya mutters, "I don't appreciate that," before trying to respond with an attack of her own, hastily trying a quick stab with her rapier before taking a step to the side.
There was no sense in blocking her own allies off from this particular group and, besides, she'd be able to stab them a little as they moved by with the guard down.

I'm... not 100% sure whether or not they get their dex bonus to move by her since they're not actively paying attention to her, so the Sneak Attack bits are separate. Oiur shakes their head at the overheard looters. "Despicable," they mutter over their shoulder at Eugressia.
When fighting breaks out, they step into the street, driving their heels into the pavement. The blows send tremors through the stones and into their allies' bodies, a steady offer of strength.

Kaya takes a stab forward with her rapier, but either through pure luck or instinctual training the halfling steps back just in time to avoid the tip of her rapier. Zyneste, however has no such problems landing three arrows into the halfling and making a near pincushion of him. The small halfling falls over near dead. Green turns back to their boss and calls out, “Oi they killed Kenin! The fruitcakes!”
His words fall on deaf ears as the halfling notices that Kahru and Nokka (Who gets great reception but doesn’t have a lot of useful apps) have tag teamed the halfling. After Kahru’s earthbreaker broke the bosses not earth shoulder the man had dodged back… into Nokka’s waiting antenna beak and claws, the ravenous owlbear making short work of the meat, slashing and grinding the form into little more than paste on the ground.
Quir starts a low rumbling song along the stones of the streets and buildings. Their attempts to keep the music quiet doesn’t quite work, but the rumbling fits into the general chaos and helps to muffle the sounds of the battle raging around them. If they’d stopped and listened they could hear the sounds of one of the demons out front snapping it’s fingers.
“Dat’s catchy! Wonder who’s singing?”

Green gives a small whimper of pain as his head nearly starts to explode with pain. “God’s damned! Why am I getting a migraine NOW!” Red looks over at him and comments, “You sure you took your medication today.” Green glares back, adding “Yes Roja, I did! Thank-you very much! … Wait did that bear just say ‘Waka waka’ at me? Alright! I’m done, get me outta here!”
Either not caring or not aware of the danger, Green strides out of the opening in the wall and weaves his way in between the people in front of him and heading to the back alleyway. Kaya’s rapier catches his shirt, but he just gives her an angry fed up look and continues pushing past, clearly headed for a sewer pipe. As he turns the corner, a small sniffle sounds out. “This was supposed to be an easy job. Fortune’s blessing! but now Boss and Kiiro are dead my migraines are back and… and…”
Roja gives him a look and sighs, before shouting ”Oi, I don’t care if your head hurts, DON’t YOU DARE LEAVE ME HERE ALONE!” He then angrily rushes after the man, cleanly dodging Kaya’s rapier, though he does catch the back end of her rapier once as he stops for a second to breathe before pressing on after his friend.
They provoke all the AoO’s. If Quir, Eugressia, and Zyneste have a melee weapon in hand you get an AoO. If the alley is actually wider, then they will double-move to get adjacent.

That is actually the edge of the map, so... I'll go with the alley being wider. Most of the other maps I can expand the image if needed, but this happened to be the literal edge of the map. I moved you up Kahru.

With the looters taken care of, a quicksearch of their bags shows that the looters had found the stash of weapons were likely to make off with them, but having routed them the party secured the supplies that Lady Talira requested.
Hurrying back to the supply depot, the party hands off the supplies, earning a big smile from the lady. "Why, thank-you! Those are exactly what we needed! And some gold too? You didn't raid the bank accounts as well, did you? Also any word of my men?" As she waits for your answers, she gestures for subordiantes to start disseminating the weapons to the waiting couriers.
That's a success! There is 1 district that hasn't had any successes yet (the Confluence District) and one that has only had one (the Woundward District) if you want to move districts. Which encounter?: 1d4 ⇒ 3
After seeing the weapons that you brought in sent off to the people waiting on them, Lady Talira gives a look around the depot and realizes that their are almost no other people around looking for weapons or supplies. She gives the party a shrug, “I think we’re okay for support right around here. Maybe the Lodge at the Starrise tower has some more work for you.” With that she opens up an underground tunnel and gives you a couple of simple easy to follow directions. “Try not to show these to people you don’t know, but you should be able to reach the tower in 10-20 minutes. Good luck and stay safe.” She sends you off with a wave and some rations.
10 minutes later you pop out of the tunnels just outside the tower. The alleyway proves to be empty and clear of demonic presence, but stepping into the streets shows just how overrun this district is, with small fires and lower level demons ravaging the place. Fighting your way to the Starrise Spire’s courtyard takes only a few minutes. You arrive just as a contingent of large threatening demons teleport away, a commiserate cry of warning issuing from an upper story of the building clearly under constant attack.
From one side of the courtyard, a long limbed elf with flowing blond hair finishes drawing a circle on the ground and then strides up to the party, a broken rose in hand. As he gets closer, his features coalesce into the familiar face of Krieghton Shaine, the Pathfinder’s current Master of Scrolls. He gives the group a small bow and comments, “Ah, just in time. Friends, the demons have found their way into the Starrise Spire and show no signs of relenting. We cannot keep this up. Luckily, I have been researching some ancient rituals that should allow us to keep the demons outside of the Spire, and give us time to regroup. I know the rites, but I need protection while I enact them. I trust you will protect me while I do this dangerous deed, yes?”
Then with almost no care for your response he drags you to the three intricate circles he’d drawn on the ground, each one filled with various unsavory components, such as fresh blood from an animal or bone fragments of many different beasts. He hands over a stack of papers and babbles on for a minute or so about how the ritual is based on his ingenious combining of various texts pathfinders have brought back from the Darklands.
As Krieghton finishes his lecture, he gives everyone a solid look in the eye and comments, “ I will need about a minute to finish the ritual but I am almost positive that the demons won’t leave me alone once I start so you’ll need to hold them off for that time. Let me know when you are ready to start.”
