Looking like she's done it one hundred times before, Ela fishes a pinch of black powder out of her horn and a small metal pellet from elsewhere, stuffing them in through the top of her pistol and pushing them down with some sort of "ramming rod".

Ela is able to target a tenuous strand of muscle that is holding its upper and lower mangled body together. Not only does she hit it, but blows it apart, causing the zombie's upper half to tumble to the ground.

Each of the Zombies had a bandolier, containing mostly empty vials and rusted blades, but a total of 4 full potions can be found between each of them.

Now that the area is secure, you're able to get a better look at the mid deck. This large space takes up most of the ship’s below-deck area and is still strung with almost a dozen crew hammocks, though some have been sliced through and hang limply from their tethers. Light is dim here, filtered through the cracked glass of a few filthy portholes. Stairs aft lead up to the main deck.

Then she goes back to those two book they only had time to take a quick peek at, just in case it's important. (Captain's journal and Sailing Through the Eye: a Theoretical Study of the World's Largest Storm).

She casually reads over Lady Naysha's shoulder.. totally not annoying at all :P

The journal was printed on vellum with water-resistant ink, so the pages are largely still legible. It appears to be the journal of captain Jaheem, and it contains an account of the ship’s last mission, detailing the departure of the Pathfinders’ landing party, the crew growing restless waiting for their return, and eventually the crew’s outright mutiny as the weather grew worse. Jaheem’s last entries describe the ship’s collision with the reef and his intent to try using his water-related powers to escape his imprisonment: an attempt that clearly failed.

Knowledge (Geography or Nature) DC 15:
Reviewing some of the logs and charts in the journal reveals that Captain Jaheem had noticed several distinct changes in the currents near the location where the ship wrecked, and the captain’s cramped but neat handwriting suggests he felt that someone, or something, may have been manipulating the Eye with potent magic.

The other book, while appearing rather valuable to a collector, seems rather useless to an adventurer. Although the value does mean a few more coins in your pocket when the day is done.

The staircase to the hold is unimpeded, and it appears as though the zombies were the only creatures remaining aboard. The hold of the ship smells dank and briny, thick with algae and the bony remains
of fish washed in by the tide. Ten small, sodden chests, each labeled, are in the aft of this small space. The chests contain only waterlogged clothing, a set of embroidered kerchiefs, a locket containing a lock of hair, and a sodden envelope that used to be a letter but has long since fallen apart.

Finding nothing else of use, Savannah wanders the ship, intoning prayers to Kurgess over the bodies of the undead, and the hammocks of the sailors who were clearly lost at sea. When she's done blessing the ship she heads back up onto the deck.

"I don't see anything else of interest on the ship. Did you guys? Shall we follow the strange currents to that cave?"

As you begin to head towards the swan boat, unusually strong currents begin to pull at the moored boat... directly towards the cave. What appears to be natural, slanted brown rock from a distance resolves into the broken wood of shipwreck upon wreck, surrounding the entrance to a small sea cave cut into the cliff of Tempest Cay by the fierceness of wind, water, and time. The ships that have somehow skirted the coral shallows or were too large to enter the cave have been smashed against the rocky cliffs. As the boat finally pushes into the mouth of the cave, the current become stronger and stronger, making it nearly impossible for the boat to leave even if you wanted to. Suddenly, the boat begins to rock and reel!

Ela smiles the entirety of their journey in the small boat. She's enjoying it like it's some sort of kid's game, but gets embarrassed when she thinks others can tell and tries to straighten her face. It doesn't work.

Savannah barely keeps her footing as Ela goes tumbling over the edge and splashes into the water! It becomes rapidly apparent what's going on... a creature is bumping the boat from the sides and bottom over and over again. It makes no move to bite at Ela however, it just keeps bumping the boat... It looks... tired... and spooked.

Now into the water, Ela sees what is disturbing the speeding of the boat.

There is a hippocampus down here bobbling the boat. It seems to have a saddle on it. Maybe it's missing its handler?

Fuzzzy falls into the water! Luckily, he grabs onto his hat, and it does not fall off his head. Crisis averted!

"HOOO!" Bobby flies over and waves his talons at the hippocampus, pointing out that it's wearing a saddle on its back. Unfortunately, Fuzzzy doesn't notice! But maybe someone else will...

It is difficult to see from the surface, but Bobby is able to spot that the hippocampus's rider is unconscious and caught in the harness being dragged beneath their steed. They don't look like they're in very good shape...

Fuzzzy approaches the Hippocampus, but it isn't intelligent and has no idea what the old wizard is saying. It thankfully doesn't seem to consider Fuzzzy as a threat and continues bumping into the boat and now Fuzzzy as though trying to get his attention.

Ela on the other hand seems to be busy trying to determine how deep the water is by sinking. The flow of debris strikes her and she falters, taking a mild blow to the head and sinking 5 ft blow the water line. Remember, you can hold your breath and continue to act for a number of rounds equal to your Con score before drowning.

Seeing Ela flounder and sink Savannah prays to Kurgess for a bit of luck. Then she dives into the water after her. (Next round anytime I roll a d20 I roll twice and take the better result.)

Oh right, holding her breath then...

Ela ejects the initial influx of water and slows herself down just enough to realize she can do this for a short time while trying to get back to the surface.

Naysha scrambles back to the boat and Savannah does a graceful swan dive to rescue Ela. She grabs the floundering mage and pulls her up to the water's surface.

Naysha grabs onto the lip of the boat, and Endir is able to drag her back aboard. The Hippocampus is continuing to rock the boat, although it's also bumping into Fuzzzy now. It doesn't appear to be trying to wound him, but it's a rather large creature and the waters are very rough. Fuzzzy, your next swim check will be a bit more difficult.

Fuzzzy untangles the rider from the hippocampus and pulls him towards the boat. The rider is unconcious, although he appears to be an aquatic... or partially aquatic race and thankfully did not appear to be at risk of drowning.

The hippocampus however seems to be panicked seeing the rider's limp body pulled onto the boat and it starts thrashing about!

Sudden realization flashes across her face as she grasps at her waist for her powder horn. Finding it still sealed, she sighs relief.

She watches as Fuzzzy and Endir drags the rider onboard.

The hippocampus calms down as the rider begins to cough loudly. No longer being rammed by the creature, it is easy enough to navigate to a small beach in the cove. The rider, finally realizes that he isn't in fact in Pharasma's boneyard relaxs. **Cough** "You saved me... I'm Nalu... and this is Kelp" He pats the hippocampus on the flank.

"Thank you for rescuing me... I thought I was done for."
