"Let me guess... Benarry told you say that? Ha! It’s an old joke between us. Sailors are a superstitious lot, and many of them consider it good luck to have a tengu aboard. They call us jinx eaters, and they think we can dispel bad luck. Does she believe it, or is she just ribbing me? Who knows, anymore? But, good luck, all the same!"
With everyone ready to go you activate the feather token and depart the Grinning Pixie. Venture-Captain Benarry's knowledge of the currents around the Eye of Abendego leads you to a large coral reef.
The skeletal network of pink and red coral, outlining a series of tidal pools, presents only a single accessible break large enough for a small boat. The air is brackish here, with the scent of salt and dead fish hanging heavily. The coral tapers to razor-edged, ridge-like points at varying heights, while the tidal pools are slick with algae. In the shallows, wooden planks and flotsam from many shipwrecks are visible in various stages of warp and decay. A decaying ship lists along the outer edge of the reef, with a large hole torn through its hull like a menacing open maw. The painted name Pride of Aspenthar is just barely visible in flaking remnants of ornate gold script on the ship’s prow.

As the group bobs along, Ela cannot help but remain fixated on the massive storm itself. She almost doesn't notice when they approach the reef.
Well, those were definitely good directions using the currents. I wonder if we can safely get in and look around...
Ela looks to see if there is any obvious way to board the ship.

The ship is wrecked on the highest point of the reef, but unfortunately trying to guide your boat directly there would likely result in the same fate. The lowest part of the reef where you were able to guide the boat, is a short walk away from the wreck. The reef itself has jagged outgrowths of coral all over, and deep pools of water flowing in and out with the waves. Trudging through the water looks as though it will be tricky due to the strong undertow and the sharp coral. If you want to avoid getting your feet cut up you'll have to swim... but that puts you at risk of being pulled back out to sea!

Survival: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Fuzzzy grins. "Oh, really? THIS place?" Fuzzzy looks around and stands up. "I love missions! I'm a Pathfinder, you know!" He explains to the strangers in the boat. Then Fuzzzy promptly clambers out of the boat to try to walk through the reef to the ship. He tries to find a path that looks the least painful.

She looks around the reef to see if there is any easy way.
"Ready, Miss Whiskers?"
Lady Naysha makes Miss Whiskers nod.
"Great! Let's go!"
Lady Naysha tries to climb out and walk because she does not want to get swept away.

Ela surveys the treacherous path. That's a lot of sharp coral that we don't want to get cut up on. Swimming seems dangerous too, the current could carry you away from our boat and out to sea!
Knowledge (engineering), DC15: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Look around and what is available she gets an idea.
Say, some of these pieces of driftwood are long enough to lay out and help us make a safer path to the ship. Here, you grab those and lay them out after these.
She demonstrates with a few pieces starting from their boat, pointing at additional driftwood for the party to pick up and help continue the path. This should save us some scratches and cuts!
When she gets to the other end, she pats her cloak where the powder horn is still concealed underneath. And this stays dry.

Many of the shallow tidal pools contain tiny fish and other aquatic creatures that hide within the algae fronds, waiting for the tide to come back in. Shark fins occasionally slice through the deeper water that surrounds the reef, as the hunters scout for easy prey.
Map is up. ALL squares are difficult terrain. Squares with red stuff are sharp pointy coral filled squares that hurt to walk across. Squares with dark blue are filled with water and require a swim check to pass through... and also might hurt to pass through.

"Great idea, Ela!" Savannah remarks, clapping the girl on the back. "With a little teamwork we can accomplish anything!"
Savannah helps lift and manage the driftwood bridges as they traverse the coral reef to the ship.
"Kurgess bless the brave!" she prays as she moves.

Savannah leads the party forward, slowly making her way up the coral reef towards the ship. As she turn a corner, under the cover of the large coral outcroppings stands a pair of giant crabs, about the size of guard dogs, clacking their claws, and making no move to leave.

"Hmmm?" Fuzzzy replies to Bobby. "Are you sure? Okay!"
Fuzzzy roars as loud as he can like a lion, waves his arms around over his head, and makes a loud whooping sound like an angry gorilla.
No one is quite sure why.

You might not have a bad idea there! They're just animals. If they can't eat us they should want to leave us alone. If your roaring doesn't do the trick, maybe I should fire off a blast from my pistol?

Endir moves towards the crabs double move and starts hollering like an idiot, screaming about random things.
"You wanna eat us? Well, You'll have plenty of time doing that WHEN YOU'RE LIVING IN A CARAVAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!! HAHAHA!!!

Endir looks around at the group for a sign that any of them appreciated in his "help".
Well at least i used the natural 1 now and not in combat...
His performance seems to just make the animals even more curious...

"Great work, team!" Savannah exclaims, rather impressed with everyone's enthusiasm. "Kurgess bless the bold!" she prays. (Using bit of luck on myself. I get to roll twice and keep the better result on my below roll).
Then she draws her spear, waves it around menacingly and lets out her best intimidating roar. The kind you use to scare the heck out of your wrestling opponent before a match!
"RAAAAAAAAH!"
She bounces from foot to foot and grins. "Whooo! That gets the blood pumping! YEAH!"

The crabs skitter around a bit and 2 more crawl out of the coral. They seem frightened yet confused by the posturing, and have no real comprehension of your goal. They begin to move forward, claws clacking.

Bobby flaps after Fuzzzy and lands on his shoulder. Bobby's feather suddenly glow a lovely golden colour. Spots and sparkles gather around his feathers. Then he touches Fuzzzy and the glowing dots flow into him. A moment later the glow disappears as quickly as it came.

Seeing that they're not scared Fuzzzy puts his hands on his hips. "Well! I thought we were quite terrifying! Oh, well! I -- Oh!" he suddenly exclaims, feeling something strange on his hip. He looks down. "A sword?! I must be a fierce warrior!" He draws the sword and moves closer to the crabs.
Double move, drawing his weapon as he goes.

The crabs scuttle forward slowly across the rough coral. They don't notice Lady Naysha's approach, and instead try to get a taste of Endir and Savannah.

She sighs audibly. Well, so much for scaring them off. This is unnecessary.
Ela dances along the reef, trying to keep her feet from from getting cut on the sharp, natural coral knives! She moves out to the right hoping to get a clear shot at a crab.
15', difficult terrain, move action.
With a few swift movements she has transferred a pinch of powder and a pellet from her powder horn and a pouch at her waist, respectively. They quickly disappear into the barrel of her pistol as she keeps her eyes on the crabs.
Reload pistol, move action per rapid reload.

Fuzzzy moves over to get a nice view of the crabs. "Hi!" he says. Then he throws his longsword at the green crab. "Bye!"

Savannah lunges at the crabs in front of her, swinging her spear in a wide sweep to keep them back from the others, then thrusting its sharp tip at the red crab.
"Get BACK!"
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
Cold Iron Piercing Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
But the coral's got her all off balance and she misses!

Fuzzzy and Endir both send projectiles of widely differing sizes at the nearby giant crab. There is very little left of the creature other than a possible seafood meal by the time the dust clears from their barrage. Savannah attempts to cut down the next in line, but her blade is far to slow for the deft creature and she spatters mud across the vanguard.
The crabs begin to clack their claws, snapping forward to try to grab the vicious and possibly tasty pathfinders.

Blue vs Savannah: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Endir sees Fuzzzy being attacked, so he notches an arrow in his bow, draws the string back, aims it, and lets the arrow fly, whizzing through the air with a slight spin.

Lady Naysha stops chanting. Suddenly a tiny, black and white, sparkly skunk appears in front of Lady Naysha. It turns around, raises its tail... and sprays a stinky stream of musk at the blue crab!
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
DC 11 Fortitude Save or its nauseated for 1d4 rounds and then sickened for 1d4 minutes by the horrific stench. A successful save reduces the effect to only 1d4 rounds of being sickened.
Lady Naysha bursts out laughing.
Through her laughter, lady Naysha chants in a kind of foul sounding language again!
Casting bane. 50 ft. radius burst, 3 minutes, The crabs make a DC 15 Will save or they take -1 on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

Fuzzzy looks down at his wounds. "That hurt!" He waggles his finger at the crab! "You're naughty!"
Seeing a sword in his hand, Fuzzzy grins. "What a nice sword! I must be a fierce warrior!"
He stabs his sword at the crab that hurt him!

Fuzzzy cleaves the assaulting crab in two as Endir and Ela team up to drop another with bow and gun.

Ela carefully moves forward, closing some of the space between her and the final crab.
15', move action
This time she holds up her pistol, seemingly without loading it but begins to speak spell words into it. When she pulls the trigger a barely-visible thin line of distortion shoots out towards the crab. You can almost hear noises trying to escape the tiny tunnel it forges through the air towards its target, and imagine that it wouldn't be good to be the target of those concentrated sounds.
Cast Ear-piercing scream, standard action
Ear piercing scream pistol attack vs crab, into melee: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 4 = 1
The sonic ray flies far above the crab and out into the air where it dissipates and vanishes.

Suddenly a scaly lady with hair made of seaweed and webbed hands splashes water in the eyes of the crab! Then the sea lady disappears!

Endir steps forward (5' step) and shoots an arrow at the now foul-smelling crab!

"HAH! take pointy death (or at least pain)!" Endir cries as the missile strikes its target unless its AC is higher than 22, which I highly doubt.
