Retrocon starts January 14th...I think we could probably make that. When the optional encounter comes around, we'll see if there's time remaining. Until then, I can commit to post when able.

Playtest Pregen |

I anticipate that my posting rate will be reduced over the next week, but I am fine with being botted to keep things moving.

![]() |

Ooh, that was fast! Yeah, we won't have any trouble finishing before Retrocon. The final fight always takes a bit, but not that long.

Arkandru Pavlencas |

@Zordox - did I get something wrong with the Heal spell?

Arkandru Pavlencas |

It said 4=4. Shouldn't it have said 1d8+4?
Not for an area of effect Heal; that's limited to the caster's spellcasting modifier.
"Material Casting, Somatic Casting, Verbal Casting You disperse positive energy in a 30-foot aura. This has the same effect as the two-action version, but it targets all living and undead creatures in the burst and reduces the amount of healing or damage to your spellcasting ability modifier.

Zordox de la Flamme |

Okay. They really need to go back over that then. They have just nerfed spell casting to crazy levels.

Arkandru Pavlencas |

Sorry folks - my son had an allergic reaction at a restaurant last night and we were in the ER until 2am. He’s fine now, but I’ve been a little discombobulated. I’ll post within the next hour or two.

All good (besides the ER and such), allergies are rarely fun.

Playtest question:
I understand that when someone casts an offensive spell, their target gets a save (generally), but what I don't understand is when I use a skill or ability (singing or Intimidate), I'm the one who has to beat a Will DC.
What number am I trying to beat? Singing lowers the target's Will Save by 1. I imagine that would make them easier to Intimidate, but I can't figure it out.

![]() |

Yeah, it does. I just checked around and it said in the start of the "Playing the Game" section that all skill modifiers apply to the DC.
For tasks opposed by another character, the DC is based on one of the target’s modifiers, as defined in the task. A DC derived in this way is equal to 10 plus the creature’s modifier for that type of roll. All modifiers, bonuses, and penalties that would apply to the character’s rolls for a task also apply to its DC unless noted otherwise.
At least I assume that applies to temporary modifiers as well. It isn't noted otherwise anywhere I noticed.

Well, you've successfully completed the scenario. Congratulations!
Now, I know some of you are be doing more games come Retrocon and such. But I'm thinking about running another playtest adventure, Raiders of Shrieking Peak. Anyone interested?

Playtest Pregen |

@ All - This was a great romp! Truly enjoyed the roleplay with PCs and NPCs. Great descriptions too, painted some interesting visuals in my mind.
@ GM Crunch - Thanks again for running! It was a really a lot of fun.
As for Shrieking Peak, I've played that one scenario 3 times, which is probably my limit. I've sat at a few tables of Rosestreet, but never actually played it all the way through. So if you were going to run that, I'd definitely be in.

Arkandru Pavlencas |

Thanks, GM Crunch - this was great fun (and thanks to my fellow players as well). Thank you for offering, but I have played Raiders (and Rose Street) already. If someone decides to run the level 10 PFS scenario, I’d be up for that.

Thorax Toothlicker |

I'm scheduled to play the Level 10 playtest adventure next month at a Conference, but nobody else is signed up for it, so if you do that one I'd be interested.
I've done Shrieking Peak (I outshrieked the Harpies) and Rosestreet already.
Let us know when you've completed reporting and I'll give my feedback. My society# for Thorax is 66548-1501

Zordox de la Flamme |

I'm in a Resonance Test version of Raiders right now. I wouldn't mind going on a run using the 1.6 rules to see how it goes.
I would also be interested in the L10 PFS2 session as well.

Having run all of the non-Doomsday Dawn playtest things, I could do either Frozen Oath or Rose Street Revenge. I'd rather not do both at the same time, though, and it looks as if there's more interest here for the former. Fumbus, would you like in on that if it happened? If not, I can keep a space open for you on Rose Street when I end up doing it after.
Also, I've finished reporting. Nice and easy while there aren't any Chronicles, I must say.

Oh, I guess should we scan a copy of our playte-
Nevermind. I'll just print a screenshot of my sessions tab ^_^
EDIT: looks like the Playtest period ended =(
Yeah, the surveys are closed. BUT we still receive Playtest Points (™) for PFS 2.0.

![]() |

Looks to me more like the Doomsday Dawn surveys are closed, but the other ones seemed open. At least the Arclord's Envy GM one was. Maybe the period is over but they can still be looked at? Hopefully not.

Arkandru Pavlencas |

I may flip Arkandru's classes to make him a cleric with the ranger multiclass archetype, to see how a higher-level caster plays, but if it doesn't work on paper I'll stick with Ranger/Cleric as is.

![]() |

Do those who want in have a preference on when to start? I assume it'll take a few days before characters are leveled up, so I'm in no hurry. The earliest I'd like to start is Monday. Then I could drum up 2 or 3 more people (1 or 2 if Fumbus would like to join).

Arkandru Pavlencas |

I can be ready to start on Monday, but a couple of days to let the Retrocon specials get underway wouldn’t either.

Yeah, it will be. I'll create it and put up links in here and Cottonseed once I start recruiting. Still don't know if Lysle wants in, so I'll send a PM and grab 2 or 3 others depending on the answer. Will mark this thread inactive soon after.
Edit: All right, new thread is here.
