Big Gronder |

Hm. I seriously underestimated Strength in a desire to make Gronder sort of an everyman who grows into being a warrior... he's two points shy of being able to wear chainmail, even though he can afford it now. So, I'll have him buy a suit of Brigandine, if possible, since he can afford it now. I will adjust him accordingly, but let me know if I need to take it back. :)

Tesswyn |

I'm considering having Tesswyn train with druids and using my rogue talent at level 2 to learn how to cast Nature spells. Then I can be heartier in melee with oak skin and shillelagh. :)

Big Gronder |

In fact... if I am reading things over correctly, at level 3 (he's probably going to go Fighter) they'll get to increase two different stats by 1 each, and then level 4 he'll get +6 health, then level 5 he'll get Defense 1 and Health +5, then level 6 is more health... finally, level 7 Master paths allow +1 to three stats...
Sorry for the spew there... all of this to say that he will not be able to gain the two points of strength he needs to wear chain or scale until level 7, and he'll never be strong enough to wear plate and mail or full plate.
If I am wrong about any of that, please do let me know. But it looks correct... which changes how I'll be playing him, since I did originally see him as becoming a tank of sorts. For now, he'll get the Brigandine. :)

bookrat |

Seems right, Grondor. Sorry for the confusion. I was going off memory. Busy day today.
Had to get the infant in to the doctors, then on the way my service engine light came on, so had to get the car checked out. Now I'm at my grandparents house; just years about my car and it's a problem with the electronics improperly giving warning signals. Nothing wrong with the engine itself.
So now I'm trying to get the kids to eat lunch and then off to get my car back. Then to the store and then home. Maybe then I can sit down and actually write for the game. Maybe. :)

Big Gronder |

All good, and no problem. Family and life always come first.
And if it sounded like I was upset by what I posted, sorry, because I am not. I just wanted to clarify that my understanding was correct. It'll be interesting to see how he develops over time, and right now his defense with both armor and shield is 14, which is not at all bad.
So no complaints, just wanted to make sure I wasn't mistaking anything.
I'll be around on and off over the next few days due to Thanksgiving stuff. For those of you also celebrating, enjoy it. :)

Regulus has also informed me that he will be bowing out of the game. He says he has limited gaming time and would like to spend it on more mechanically complex games.
While im sad to see him go, I know he'll have more fun pursuig other games.
Regulus, it's been a pleasure to have you with us and you will be missed here. I'll see you in the Underdark!
(Reg and I game in Out of the Abyss together with the 5e system).

Tesswyn |

It was fun gaming with you, Reg. See you around!
Looks like we're down to for. It worked out that we still have one warrior, one rogue, one magician, and one priest. GM, are you going to just stick with this group or are you going to try to recruit new players?

Tesswyn |

Spending 7 shillings to buy a sling, 5 stones, small silver mirror, implement of magic, and 2 healing potions. The mirror is rare and everything else but the sling is uncommon, so GM, please let me know if those items are not available.

Drot'ook |

I would like to see if I can take the time to make a little bit more money (currently at 4ss, 5cp) and buy a Morning Star (5ss).

Tesswyn |

You can borrow 5 cp from me.

Regulus IV |

It's been really good playing with you guys! You're a really great group! It's honestly just not my favorite system. Have a great time and keep saving everyone from economic inefficiencies!

I hear ya. It's like me an the 3.X systems. I'd join a game if I had nothing better to do, but given other options I'd play something else.

Charlemange |

There was also a Longsword and an oil lantern that was discovered early on in the well. If no one minds, I think I'll have Charles take those items.

Tesswyn |

Missed those two. Go for it, Charles.

Charlemange |

Just got a post eaten by the boards that took me over an hour to write. Lost my momentum to frustration and despair. I'll check in again later.

Tesswyn |

Ugh, that really sucks. I have been burned many times that way. I always try to copy and paste long posts in another program before hitting submit, but I still forget sometimes. Sorry, Charlie. I hope you can get your motivation back soon. :(

bookrat |

Ouch. I'm sorry.
I've taken a habit of writing any post longer than a paragraph on Google Docs, just for that reason. Especially with the new issue of Paizo claiming I've "backtracked" too far after 30 seconds of preview.
I've gotten a bit lucky with my Opera Browser; it tends to save all my text one "back button" back. So if I get a Paizo error, I just press back once and Opera has saved a lot of my text (while on my Motorola Z2 Force; I haven't tried on a PC).

Tesswyn |

I have a staycation planned next week from Monday through Wednesday. My posts will be less frequent until I go back to work on Thursday.

Big Gronder |

I am glad I took the time to read the book a bit more closely... turns out all of my attack rolls should have been made with a boon, and I never used 'Catch my Breath' even when hurt... duly noted. :D

Tesswyn |

Yeah, I completely forgot about Nimble Recovery, too. Well, nobody died, so it's all good!

Charlemange |

While I don't generally mind the technical side of things, I've never really liked how the catholic church was structured. The terms Father and Brother/Sister give a familial sense and I feel as though the Cult of the New God is too distant for that.
Here's how I see it structured.
Believer; those who follow the tenets of worship for the New God. (Typical believer.)
Adherent; a strong believer who has gained the blessings of the New God. (Priest within a church.)
Advocate; an actively public supporter who has continued to gain blessings and visions of the New God. (Head priest or community leader.)
- Subsects:
Crusader; an adherent member of the new god religion who is part of the military arm. (Holy warrior against corruption, abominations, and the unholy.)
- Paladin: a powerful member of the New God religion. (One who seeks out the root of abominations and vanquishes them. Effectively an exorcist.)
Prophet; the penultimate bringer of faith and the word of religion to the masses regarding the New God. (One who receives multiple visions, and speaks directly for the New God.)

Charlemange |

Charles is still new enough at being part of the religion and far enough removed from the official hierarchy, not to mention his personal dislike of any sort of hierarchy from his background, that he would likely introduce himself as an adherent (Or acolyte) of the church.

Charlemange |

Okay, Charlemange is officially level 2 now. Hit points updated.
Discovered the Celestial tradition and added Persistent light. 1 much bigger and longer lasting spell seemed better than 2 shorter ones.
Added Minor healing to life spells known. Realized we might need more of that.
Changed Summon Holy Symbol to Denounce, as he was doing a lot of that in the well.
Gained prayer as an ability so I can be more useful in a variety of combat situations.
Also remembered about the shared healing ability I should have had before. Finally starting to feel like a real priest character.

If someone would like to help me make some NPCs, let's open up a Google Docs page and flesh some of these folks out.
There are 21 people in the cave with you who are still alive. Pick out some avatars and paste them on this document.
Give them a name and a description.
Some NPCs already listed (but still need a picture:
4 year old girl
The woman who took charge about food stocks
The rotund man
The miner
The mayor and his two teenage sons
A mother and her six year old son
That's nine pictures we'll need.
Let's find 12 more and detail the NPCs. Let's keep all the NPCs human.

Tesswyn |

I'll have some free time either Thursday or Friday to work on this.

Charlemange |

A thought just occurred to me, does anybody still have the chalice we took from the desolation demon? As far as I recall it seemed to contain an endless supply of water, or at least a great deal anyway. Unless it shattered or lost power that might deal with our water problem.

Drot'ook |

Weeeeeeeeeell the last person to have it was Drot... And he didn't have it on him, nor did he go back for any of his stuff... Though I did forget about irl so I'm sure he would have been studying it to some great degree...

Charlemange |

Well that's unfortunate, but if you didn't think to grab your bag then there's no chance of it being with you anyway.
In other news:
Sorry about my lack of posting recently. One of my aunts passed away very recently and we just had her memorial service so I've been kind of low energy.

Tesswyn |

I would prefer social combat if it's not too complicated--don't want to waste that 20! Otherwise, I'm good with kicking his ass.

bookrat |

It's not complicated at all! It's two pages of rules, and I've posted them in the Discord chat.
You have a Composure Score equal to your Will - Insantiy.
You take rolaplaying actions against a target (+boon/bane, depending on action and their attitude). Success means you deal 1d6 Influence points against them. Fail means you take 1d6 influence points.
When your influence equals your composure, then you've lost. You take the effects described by the actions, based on DM interpretation.
And that's it!

Tesswyn |

Okay, so can I use that Intimidate roll I made? In that case, he would gain--
Influence: 1d6 ⇒ 4
--Points of Influence. Can I add my Trickery die to the roll as "damage"? Does it count as an attack for my ability to take another turn?

Tesswyn |

I'll be out of town from Friday afternoon through Tuesday night. Wi-fi access might be spotty, so I might not be able to post much until I return. GM, please bot me if necessary.
