The original celestial eagle makes it's presence known:
Talon Atk, Dmg: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Talon Atk, Dmg: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Bite Atk, Dmg: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
I normally don't make a hover check the first around, because I assume I'm basically summoning an angry bundle of feathers and sharp bits right on a target. Let me know if you want me to make a check.

@Xiao: There was no second creature flanking the half-orc, but it didn't affect the outcome of the roll. Just remember for next time, you need to be across from an ally to consider your opponent as flanked.
@Uaine: Either way, it wouldn't necessarily require a roll, as the eagle can be summoned onto the deck itself - it has a regular speed of 10', so it doesn't have to be flying to attack.
Xiao's summoned celestial eagle rips and tears at the first mate of the ship, with a errant talon ripping into his flesh for 6 damage.
Uaine's follows suit, but the bird cannot connect with the pirate.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 (Against Grease)
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 (Against AoO)
The warpriest quits the grease section and continue then to pass through the hold.
Do I notice the Pathfinder among the slaves?

![]() |

I think for narrative purposes, removing the gag would be a small enough action.
Sandokar helps removes the gag from the gnome slave, who immediately implores the warpriest to free her from her bonds. "My name is Rilla Lavon, did the Society send you? I'm a Pathfinder, myself. If you free me, I can help you with---!" A sudden sharp look of panic fills her eyes.
"Look out behind you! The beast is loose!"
The trollhound lunges at Salazar, snapping with it's brutish jaws once more.
Melee, bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
It's teeth bite into the stout boar, but Salazar's hide proves to be too tough. He shakes off the attack without issue.
I figure that Uaine won't be interacting with the trollhound any time this round, so to speed things up, I took its turn slightly out of order. So now...
Uaine and Salazar are up!

Uaine casts Daze, boosted with an arcane point on the Gnoll. (DC15)
If the Gnoll looks dazed, she'll move towards the stairs down. If not, she'll move to the back of the ship.

I forgot to mention it in the prior post, but Pai's electric blast did not hit on a 7.
Gnoll, DC 15 Will: 1d20 ⇒ 3
With a brief word and a motion of her hand, Uaine clouds the mind of the gnoll, and his face goes blank. The tip of his spear clangs into the deck, and he looks absolutely entranced. She casually walks by the gnoll towards the forecastle, and the gnoll could care less.
The half-orc first mate, swarmed by a pair of eagles, takes his heavy mace and swings it at the one that Xiao summoned to this plane of existence.
Melee, heavy mace: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage, bludgeoning: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The first mate clobbers the eagle for 6 damage!

@Dexter/Salazar: Given that the gnoll and half-orc first mate are on a completely different level than Salazar, I bumped him down into the last block of initiative with Dexter, just makes it easier (and until he interacts with the enemies above deck, shouldn't mess with turn order. I've kept his original initiative roll there to clarify for the future.

The gnoll is assaulted with a magical one-two punch from Pai and Xiao, but is still standing.
Below deck, south of Salazar and Sandokar, a door smashes open with a kick from a knee-high boot. Smoke erupts from the room, and the dark grey clouds of smoke dance across the ceiling of the hold. The smoke finds an escape route through the second wooden grate to the deck of the ship, but Sandokar can see it's source - he sees licks of orange-red flame coming from the room.
Out steps a Keleshite woman, dressed in studded leather, with two ornately decorated angled daggers hung low on a belt around her hips. Her oily black hair is held out of her face by a faded yellow bandana, and her steely gaze is accented by a dark mole on her left cheek just below her eye. She has the look of someone who has seen the hard life of the open seas, and she does not look intent on letting anyone cease that life of infamy and outlaw freedom.
She stands in the doorway, and unsheathes her two exotic-looking knives."Get the hells off my f!+*ing boat, landborne scum!" she snarls with the desperation of a cornered jackal.

Uaine's crossbow bolt hits the gnoll, dropping the beastman.
@Uaine: You can retcon the eagle summon's turn, given it's target is no longer valid.
@Sandokar: My mistake, I didn't add the holy damage. Crit was not confirmed, but the off-hand attack would certainly hit when he dropped from the first attack. 7 damage becomes 16.
Sandokar's dagger hits the Captain before she's able to react, and it only serves to anger her. "It'll take more than that to take me down, drylander!"

@Sandokar: By my own admission, it should have been the case - I'd erroneously thought that a medium-sized creature provided difficult terrain when helpless. As Dexter helpfully pointed out though, that's not the case.
@Uaine: I apologize if I didn't make it clear, but the trollhound is unconscious and helpless on the ground. By all accounts, it should be dead, but something is preventing it from doing so, and it's wounds are slowly regenerating. You can certainly keep attacking it, but for all intents and purposes, it is out of the fight until it can be healed to 1 HP, which will be some time in, oh, Round 14 or so (and that's assuming it doesn't take any more additional damage).
If you wish to attack Captain Wardak instead, you can do so safely without incurring an AoE, but lose the flank bonus, or risk an AoE and gain the +2 for your attacks. If this were an IRL table, I'd have reiterated the condition of the trollhound, my apologies.
Wardak, DC 15 Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
