Curse of the Crimson Throne | Loot

Dripping with the crypt flower's nectar, Alexander, Valoria and Arazni avoid falling victim to the poison.

Mystic bolts erupt from the splayed fingertips of The Eldritch, and three of them slam into the purple shambling mound, the arcane-enhanced acid hissing and popping as it eats away at the creature's rotten, leafy flesh.

The troll fury begins stomping her feet, bone necklace rattling, reaches her clawed left fist to the heavens, and begins chanting.

Druidic:
"When the lightning strikes
Zip gun Johnny's finger is itchin'
The lid's gonna blow up in hell's kitchen
It's an eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth
It's so ruthless when they fight"
♫ (Aerosmith, Lightning Strikes)

Spellcraft DC18:
She's casting call lightning.

Conditions/Effects:

Creatures within this area have concealment (20% miss chance in combat) from those without darkvision or the ability to see in darkness. Seren is momentarily apart from the fracas the rest of the party is dealing with, and hovering about like a sprite caught in a whirlwind. With her swords held out wide she spins fast enough to make a top jealous, feet literally never touching the ground as she tries to carve apart the pod despite how hard it is. Anyone listening in the distance likely hears the sound of her gagging as nausea sets in. "Ugh, too fas'! I thin' this is too fas'!"

The Eldritch wiggles through the tree-spirit wormhole up to the islet, and sends a mystic bolt of acid whizzing toward the Heart of the Blight's seed pod. The Twinhorn allies send a supporting barrage.

The seed pod's purple glow turns white-hot and cracks begin to appear in the damaged husk. The rapid increase in pressure causes the pod to detonate, exploding in a blast of negative energy. Seren is too close to ground zero to avoid the burst.
Negative energy damage, 15ft-radius burst, Will DC17 for half: 8d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 4, 1, 5, 3, 2) = 26

Ignoring the dazed crypt flower, Alexander focuses his baneful gaze on the blight witch. He swings his chain-flail twice. With the aid of the Twinhorn allies, his first blow just barely misses. (Are you sure you accounted for all the buffs?) But his second swing strikes home, leaving a bruising gash across the troll's ribs.

Conditions/Effects:
Dim Light. In an area of dim light, a character can see somewhat. Creatures within this area have concealment (20% miss chance in combat) from those without darkvision or the ability to see in darkness. A creature within an area of dim light can make a Stealth check to conceal itself. Areas of dim light include the area between 20 and 40 feet from a torch.
Difficult Terrain. The water is about 2 feet deep and functions as a shallow bog. (It costs 2 squares of movement to enter a square.)

She must decide to use this ability before the first roll is made. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. Once a creature has benefited from the fortune hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours.

If you enter the Water Hazard:
The first time each round that a non-blighted creature starts its turn in the water or enters the water, the creature takes 3d8 points of negative energy damage. A creature takes only the minimum damage with a successful DC17 Fortitude save, and the save increases to DC19 if the creature is prone.

Undiana and RIddywipple perform their eldritch duet, nearly--but not quite--putting the crypt flower in permanent deep freeze. The troll fury dusts the light frost off her blood-spattered arms.

Arazni tramples the blight witch under her magically shod hooves. The battered and torn pieces of bloody troll flesh quiver, trying to slowly stitch themselves back together, the magical frost not suppressing the creature's regenerative powers.

The crypt flower shivers beneath its cloak of ice, badly damaged, but no longer dazed.

Then Valoria reaches over with her longsword and butchers what's left of the crypt flower.

Congratulations, Victory!

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***

Strands of purple energy whip across the battleground and begin to swirl above the remains of the giant flower. The continuous chant of the Twinhorn shamans reaches a fever pitch and then suddenly stops. After a breathless moment of silence, a loud reverberating boom echoes across the swamp as a column of purple energy pierces through the clouds, dissipating into the starry sky. Shouts of celebration begin to sound across the field as Medda makes her way to the heart of the blight. A shaft of moonlight shines on the site through the parted clouds as she rips through the withered roots of the blighted flower. Medda reaches in and draws out the shriveled remains of a female crusader. In stark contrast to the rest of the remains, her silvery breastplate glimmers in the moonlight. A grievous blow has scarred its surface where a golden engraved figure spreads out her wings. Trails of blood seep out from scars running across the figure. Medda lowers the remains gently upon a white cloak that a Twinhorn warrior has placed on the ground.

With a heavenly glow, the ghostly form of Ivvora appears in the clouds above. “She was my sister-in-arms against the vile Tar-Baphon. I now know that her sacrifice spared me all those years ago, as it will all of you in the days to come. Go with Vildeis’ grace and use this blessed plate to vanquish my hated adversary. Hurry back north, for the moment of Eshimka’s reckoning draws near!”

Medda looks up to the sky as the visage of Ivvora dissipates, the red phantom hand of Anok floating above her shoulder. After a moment, she kneels next to the crusader’s remains and carefully wraps them up in the white cloak, which is slowly soaked with red. She looks at the crowd gathered around her and speaks up. “We stand here triumphant, having rid this land of corruption. But this is a mere shade of the darkness that awaits us at the Solstice Scar! Fear not, for Vildeis’ blessing will guide our weapons to strike true and eradicate Eshimka for good!”

Medda motions for the Twinhorn warriors to raise the bundled remains on their shields as one of the honored dead. “Pathfinders, you have done much for my tribe and our lands, but I ask you once more to lend us your weapons so that we might end the evil that haunts Solstice Scar. What say you?”

This concludes Solstice Scar, Version C. Table GMs, thank you for all your hard work! When filling out chronicle sheets, please note that the house has earned the Fangwood Purifier boon.
