Phoebe's CON is 10. The system uses multiplication for some of these checks (they are fairly rare) where the base stats is multiplied by a factor, here 3.

So the target number is 30 which means you need a 30 or less to enter the shed.

Stanley needs a 33.

Certain equipment would increase the multiplier but unfortunately you do not have access to it, not your fault who knew a fire would break out!

The way a + or - works in the Chaosium system is that it adjusts the base stat not the roll itself.

Alphonso's SPOT HIDDEN is a 54 for purposes of this roll it becomes a 44. with a roll of 79 hell even 69 you do not spot whatever it is you had a chance to spot.

As the 5th player I have recruited appears to be too busy in RL to step in I think we'll stand pat with the group we have.

I like this group a LOT. I think the characters are coming together pretty well as a group. If one of you wishes to play a second character I would be open to that but I think moving forward we'll just stick with this core four!

I hope you are all enjoying the game and I promise as we move forward, this game WILL start to feel much more like a Chtulhu game than it has thus far :-)

Other than the lack of familiarity with the system I am really enjoying the game. And the lack of familiarity is not really impeding anything. It would be nice if we could pass some of the spot hidden checks though!

I would be fine playing more than one charter if we feel we need it.

I am inclined to say research is the thing to do. We will not have access to things like libraries on that boat.

If we all split up and do one each rotating through all of them each of us we can do all four all of us in two days and see how we each and all do and then share information
