Erevan Stormstride
|
Erevan bristles as Akkuret questions the swordsman's knowledge of Chalfron's history, but otherwise lets it go.
"Yes, we haven't time to rest. If there is a plot to discover, we should do so at once. Perhaps we should start with this Banell Half-Drowned...where can we find him?"
Amarandlon Svethaniel
|
"And do you know aught of the magic he uses?" Amarandlon adds. "Having some idea what sort of spells he favors would be of great use in preparing our own resources."
GM Zinou
|
Haha sorry, I didn't answer that question :D
"Yes, yes, he later joined the Lion Blades, an elite group of Taldor. But you may not remember, master elf, the great politic troubles between Taldor and Qadira? Although this was a geopolitics' problem, Taldor also came to repress the cult of the Dawnflower, which you may not know, but was born in Qadira and represents strongly the southeastern country in the taldans' minds."
Seeing that you seem to want to leave, he once again insist on giving you supplies and infos.
You can all attempt a sense motive check.
Jiggo Maelerant

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Jiggo shrugs. "You can't wait down here forever, Akkuret. The sooner we call off this persecution though, the sooner you can return to normal."

While the others seem eager to hear more about Chalfon, you think the man is telling the truth about him, but he's not saying everything he knows, though.
And last but not least, you notice how he seems to worry that you leave. That's now a few times that he tries to keep you around.
Nodding at Amarandlon, he answers
"Regular magus arcana, such as offensive spells you have to touch your foe with your sword to use it. Being a rebel at heart, it seemed like Chalfon found personal validation in the rejection of wizard orthodoxy, with which you are familiar, inherent in this approach, and I think he saw it as a way of achieving wealth and true power."
Erevan Stormstride
|
Erevan cocks his head to the side and looks at the man sternly.
"You...aren't telling us something," the perceptive warrior says. "What are you keeping back?"
before waiting for the man to respond, Erevan adds "You also seem concerned about us leaving. Why are you worried we will go? You have been trying to keep us here."
Jiggo Maelerant
|
"Wait, what?" Jiggo seems quite confused by much offense Akkuret took to Evaran's question.
"No wonder he's been so informative..." Jiggo feels fooled, again. "We're getting out there, and we're gonna stop this Dalsine guy. Tonight."
Erevan Stormstride
|
Erevan's dueling blade rings from its scabbard almost simultaneously with Akkuret's.
"You had better explain yourself. You have no concept of who you are dealing with. You are no match for me...let alone with my companions."
Callan Domhnall
|
Half whispering to himself, Callan mutters, "He sorta has a point...
BTW, congrats on the win, Zinou!
Amarandlon Svethaniel
|
"Bah," Amarandlon snorts. "The doings of a Pathfinder, especially a Venture-Captain, can be inscrutable, and they are rarely always in accord with petty local laws. Something I would have thought you'd appreciate, Akkuret, given that he also sheltered your co-religionists."
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
"Now get out of the way before I wipe your memories."
Jiggo Maelerant

"Yeah, why would you worry about that? We were helping you Dawnflowers out."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 The same roll, lol

Haha your sense motive rolls are ridiculously low xD. Also, I lol'd at "flower power"!
You see that the blossoms and all of the sarenite worshipers here seem taken abashed by the priest's latest actions and stand frozen, waiting for things to calm down.
"Oh, so you think I'm no match for you lot? You don't understand..." and he bursts out laughing.
"You are definitely too funny, lot. What do you want to know? I already told you it's dangerous to go out there!"
Amarandlon Svethaniel
|
Amarandlon actually could use memory lapse on him, but since it only erases one turn I'm not sure how useful it would be...that's just six seconds of conversation.
"Why won't you allow us out? Why do you insist on keeping us here, and for what purpose?" Amarandlon demands. "That's what we wish to know--no more, no less."

sense motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Erevan, having no idea why the man is holding them hostage, let alone why he thinks he alone can stand up to a well-armed group of six, gives him one final chance to explain himself. However, the half-elf looks ready to attack.
I'll go ahead and attack if he doesn't get out of the way. This isn't the kind of character to take this insult. :)

"WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!?!??" bellows the huge barbarian. "We have a common enemy, and need not add those we are trying to aid to the long list of those we need to dispatch."
With that, Callan looks around to see if the other dawnflowers make a move or what their leaders true desires are.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

I'm happy to stand down...I guess we'll see what he's going to do in response. Remember he was the first to draw his blade and bar the way. He has also been standing in our way for quite some time giving non-responses. Perhaps we should just try to disable him so he'll move and we can carry on.

Callan tries to intimidate the man and seems to succeed, while Jiggo has no clue what's happening. Erevan gives the man a slash with his sword.
With horror, you see Akkuret melting. His skin seems to peel off as he changes form, recovering his true appearance, having no discernible facial features. (see map)
His scimitar still in hand, he tries to hit Erevan before stepping back.
"Die, Pathfinders. You'll never reach my master!"

Erevan, though he had been tentative in his first strike, now narrows his eyes at the creature before them.
"Treacherous beast! En garde!" he says, his dueling blade whirling to his side before he strikes.

"Sorry Erevan, I will think twice before questioning your judgement..." Callan mutters as if apologies rarely leave this wild man's lips. He then executes a perfect combat roll to get in position to deliver a strike from his blessed great axe.

Jiggo blesses Callan's blade while Erevan goes on fighting with a defensive stance, missing his faceless opponent. However, both Callan and Hasshin manage to hit badly the enemy.

"Indeed. As I believe the vernacular goes, f~*& that noise," Amarandlon says, waving his hands through the air. As a bolt of silvery force erupts from him and streaks toward "Akkuret," he squints at the creature. Wonder what that is...

Amarandlon's eyes go fully black and he grows still, eyeing the creature. Then he tugs his fingers slightly, as though tugging on invisible threads. "Enough of this. Let us move on." The creature seems to slow slightly, as though it's being dragged on, creating a momentary opening!
Using reveal weakness: it takes a -1 penalty to saves and AC for one round!
