Maptools isn't quite what I was looking for, but I think it is my fallback over Google spreadsheets.
As for climate, a quick Google search turns up pretty much 'like Ohio', which I take to mean it's generally colder as it is fairly northerly. Still largely temperate, though.

Drosk Ironhame |

Sorry to hear the sad news, Zeb. Our thoughts are with you.

ZebulonXenos |

Ugh, I didn't have an immediate response to Telp's post and wound up deliberating that until I ran into the hassle of next semester's registration and another testing period. I'll make a hopefully-less-empty promise to get things rolling again this weekend.

ZebulonXenos |

It occurs to me, this is a perfect excuse to defer to the player's preferences. The adventure can kind of go two ways now; you guys go nice and peacefully, and have a bit of social encounter / intrigue / moral decision making (the adventure's original intent), or break out and treat this largely as a dungeon exploration/combat adventure (which is just as supported as the other route).
I'm sensing that Telperion - in character, at least - has some inklings towards the latter, and honestly I think that may be a better way to keep things rolling. I won't make a decision for a couple of days, though I will make a post that moves things along a little but doesn't commit to one way or the other tomorrow.
Thanks for the well-wishes, Amadea. Insofar as luck goes I'm pretty confident about everything, especially registration. I got everything I needed and on reasonable schedules (if you consider 8:00 classes reasonable, which with the way parking is on this campus is the only way you can be sure you'll get a spot).
When I get my grades back it may be a different story, but in my experience I'm very good at guessing how well I performed.

Drosk Ironhame |

Glad to hear things are going well, Zeb!
As far as the adventure goes, I'm in favor of busting out and storming the temple.

Amadea |

OOC I don't see any reason to drop the charade until we are certain that they are actually evil. We have lots of suspicions, but Amadea will need some proof before she goes all Castle Wolfenstein on these guys.

Drosk Ironhame |

Well, they did break into and desecrate the tomb of our town's founder, unleashing an undead scourge that killed several of our townsfolk and that would've endangered our town if we hadn't put an end to it.

ZebulonXenos |

I am sincerely sorry for another month going by with no forward motion. I can make no real excuses, either. My only planned downtimes are the near future are the week of Thanksgiving, Finals (which is ROUGHLY the 6th to the 12th of December, to my knowledge) and a nebulous 'Christmas', though apart from the journey home I shouldn't really be missing too much time.
I also hope Telperion's doing fine - I know how nasty hurricanes can be, especially if it's the first time you've dealt with it. (I rode out hurricanes Rita and Ike - the former due to not evacuating enough and the latter because we weren't really taking the brundt of it).
As for the situation; This adventure is fairly testing for a paladin (especially given the approaching issue of false oaths, loyalty, and etc.) I am not necessarily advocating a complete Wolfenstein approach, per se, though the group may take issue with having been coerced (or drugged in the case of most of you). You haven't resisted nor asked to back out yet, and lord only knows how they would react, after all.
Though Drosk's point is only alleged, insofar as the party knows (I think), there is no doubt that tiny warning feeling in one's gut that something is indeed off and/or wrong here.
Either way the final decision is still in the group's hands at this point and I doubt either path will be irrevocably trod too soon.

Ugh, finals week hit harder than I thought it would, and today I'll mostly be packing and making sure everything's in order here before a 300 mile drive tomorrow. If I can I'll sneak in an update today; otherwise, I should be much more available over the holidays.

ZebulonXenos |

I'm not having any acute problems, but have been busier and anxious-ier, apparently to the point that I've let the game lapse a lot longer than I had realized.
Things are starting to settle into a routine so hopefully I can move things along sometime this week (double-hopefully tomorrow). We're coming up on the second anniversary of the game, too.

Raven Vargidan |

Shoot... sorry to see Telperion go. Not that I'm a particularly experienced gamer, but he's probably been my favorite character in any game I've played - such an original take on a rogue. And funny, to boot.
Wasn't sure if this game was/is going to resume. I've got all my games on a wishlist, so it's never any trouble for me to keep an eye out for updates. I'd probably look for other games to supplement, but I just haven't had time to create a new character. Loved the idea of stringing together adventures instead of trying to tackle a whole path.

Drosk Ironhame |

Very sorry to see you go, Telp! Absolutely loved how you were playing your character.

ZebulonXenos |

Between my roommate's shenanigans, the superbowl, and this being the first major test/project due week, I, um, miscalculated again.
I'm sad to see Telperion go, though I'm very, very glad he (and the rest of you!) have hung around this long. Excusable real-life issues aside, I've been remiss in keeping people informed and it's not really fair to you in any case.
I'm still interested in trying to keep this going, but it would probably be for the best to see who's actually still sticking around. I'm not sure if Bolkin's player is any better than I am at keeping up with the game, though I'm assuming we've got at least Drosk, Raven, and Amadea (since you've all posted relatively recently).
I will try to get a post up to move things along by this weekend, in any case. Today's actually the two-year anniversary of the game thread (could have sworn it was February 8th!), and I'd rather not announce its final death on that occasion.
I've made and broken promises on getting things less start-and-go, so I kind of feel the need to prove I can actually do that. As long as I've still got players I'm willing to try one last time to make good on that.

Amadea |

I'm still here and following the game. I'm up for continuing on. However, don't feel like you have to press on if the demands of your life are too much of a commitment to burden yourself with another responsibility. If it does not continue, we will survive.

Drosk Ironhame |

Still here! But as Amadea said, don't feel like you have to press on if real life is getting too demanding - your school career has got to come first.
I'm just thrilled to have gotten completely through Crypt of the Everflame! Everything past that has been bonus!

Raven Vargidan |

As easy as it is for me to check for updates regularly, to be honest, I'm starting to feel like maybe we should officially call it. Zeb, it's clear there's a lot going on for you, and this shouldn't feel like a burden that you need to check in and apologize for every couple weeks.
I totally understand lifus interruptus. I've enjoyed the game. I appreciate you running it. Don't feel like you've let me down at all. I'm proud of Raven, and I'm glad I got to play her a while (though I feel like I haven't kept as good a grasp on her personality as I'd have liked).

ZebulonXenos |

Well I took the weekend (and a slightly heady Monday) to think it through (and get some other affairs in order). I've also spoken with Bolkin, who as you may or may not recall is a long-time friend, and we arrived at the conclusion that the ebb and flow of this game has also been tied to what we're doing with Pathfinder amongst our own group of friends. That's been on the rocks somewhat between life issues and simple lack of enthusiasm, but both he and I want to get back into it.
It seems like a shame to drop a most-likely-salvageable game in that light, and honestly more stalling than I want to admit comes about as a side effect of the sort of 'psychic snowball' of not updating and then feeling bad about not updating even if the original cause was understandable.
tl;dr I at least want to get to the end of this adventure so I can improvise a proper send-off of the characters if nothing else.

Amadea |

I hadn't posted as I had assumed the same. However, your last post said you were still up for it, so I figured, what the hell; I'll give it a try and see if anyone bites.

Javell DeLeon |

I'll be honest, I thought it was dead myself. I seen you post but I was at a loss on what the heck to do. I figured if someone else posted, I'd follow up with something.
But that's no excuse. It won't happen again. If I leave a game, I ALWAYS give reason as to why instead of just vanishing. I don't like it when others do it and I shouldn't have done it myself. That's on me.
Apologies for leaving you hangin', bud.

ZebulonXenos |

Yeah, communication hasn't been the best in general here - which I sort of set the example for. Hopefully a brush this close will help me be a bit more attentive to it in the future.
(Also my post was weak and difficult to respond to, though I always have difficulty judging where I should allow for player autonomy and do a little railroading to get things moving; hopefully we'll be moving to more standard adventure here shortly)
I'll send a PM to Morthos, Drosk, and Raven in the morning (I've already nudged Bolkin).

Drosk Ironhame |

Apologies, everyone. My wife was out of town for the past week and a half, leaving me to take care of our 3 kids while dealing with a crazy-busy work schedule. But I'm catching up now.

ZebulonXenos |

That's fine Drosk, of course. Not a whole lot to catch up on, eh-heh-heh. I've notified Morthos and Raven, and when next I see Bolkin I'll give him a swift kick.
On further rumination I've decided that I'm going to focus more on keeping things moving with less roll calling (the last of which I suppose nearly lost us there), not waiting on everyone to give input, and doing a little railroading if folks seem to be lost (as Javell described). I'm pretty sure that a lot of my deficiencies have been in part because I spent a little while waiting and then just kept putting it off when it had ceased becoming part of the routine.

Raven Vargidan |

Sorry. I'm going to go ahead and stay out of this. I don't mind if a GM tells everyone he doesn't have time to continue, or if he just disappears without a word. Either way, I've seen games survive. I'm not happy with the way this game has stalled. I've gone ahead and posted an in-game farewell. I'd rather Raven not be DMPC'd.

ZebulonXenos |

I understand completely. I've been on the other end all too often and I'm somewhat surprised I've been put up with for this long. Despite the game being two years old I'm still learning about proper time management and proper flow.
Happy trails, Raven. And glad to have you back, Morthos.

Drosk Ironhame |

I'm going to be out of town for the next 3-4 days. My internet access will be sporadic at best, but I'll try to check in if possible.
