Yohoho and a bottle of Rep! (subSPUF Skull and Shackles)

Game Master Rynjin

Arrrrrrr, walk the plank, scallywag and all that. This be pirates and so do ye be.

Impositions:

Disgraceful Impositions:

Yes, Sir!: For the next hour, the PCs’ crew completes any mundane tasks they’re assigned in half the expected time. This typically relates to Craft and Profession (sailor) checks made to prepare, maintain, or repair the ship, and cannot be applied to combat or more complex deeds like crafting magic items. Costs 2 Disrepute.

Captain’s Orders!: As a standard action, a PC on board her ship can cast fog cloud, heroism, make whole, quench, or whispering wind with a caster level equal to her character level. Costs 5 Disrepute.

Walk the Plank!: The PCs may sacrifice one crew member or prisoner to grant themselves and their crew one of two bonuses: either a +2 bonus on all skill checks or a +2 bonus on attack rolls. These bonuses only apply while on board the PCs’ ship and last until either the next day or when the captain leaves the ship. If a sacrificed character is returned to life, the PCs and their crew members take a –2 penalty on both skill checks and attack rolls for 1 day. Costs 5 Disrepute.

Get Up, You Dogs!: Every PC and allied character on the deck of the PCs’ ship is affected as per the spell cure light wounds, as if cast by a cleric of the PCs’ average party level. This imposition can only be used once per week. Costs 10 Disrepute.

Despicable Impositions:

5: Lashings!: Your ship's speed doubles for 1 day.

5: Shiver Me Timbers!: While on board their ship, the PCs and their entire crew can reroll initiative or roll initiative in what would otherwise be a surprise round. The benefit of this imposition can be used immediately, but only once per week.

10: Besmara’s Blessings!: As a standard action, a PC on board her ship can cast animate rope, control water, remove curse, remove disease, or water breathing with a caster level equal to her character level.

10: Dead Men Tell No Tales!: While on board their ship, the PCs can use this imposition to automatically confirm a threatened critical hit.

What armor are the skeletons proficient in? If none, I'll probably shell out for haramakis or padded armor as they have no ACP and are dirt cheap.

These specific skeletons are proficient in light armor.

This, however:

Ixrul Morcrom wrote:

"A kitsune is humanoid shapeshifter that can take on the form of a human or an anthromorpized fox."

Addressing Jrahk, Ixrul says, "If I have reason to believe an evil cleric is inbound, I have them jump overboard or run like hell away for half an hour or so - besides, the bloody skeletons are fairly resistant to channeling, and if a cleric wants to jump in the water to present his symbol where the shark can see it... Heh."

Turning to his small army, Ixrul says, "Follow the orders of Jrahk, unless he gives orders contradictory to mine. Follow Ace's orders, unless he gives orders contradictory to mine or Jrahk's. Follow Sandra's orders, unless she gives orders contradictory to mine, Ace's, or Jrahk's."

He pauses, before continuing. "And follow Lucy's orders, unless she contradicts Jrahk's orders, my orders, Ace's orders, or Sandra's orders."

"Never obey orders to harm me."

Now speaking only to the shark, he says, "Follow our ship at all times. Should I fall overboard, retrieve me, remove me from the area of combat, and keep my head above water, while maintaining sight on our ship."

"If other creatures - save for fish smaller than my torso - or ships are near ours - within 500 feet - surface so you may hear my commands."

"If we are at a port, stay beneath the ship."

That's not gonna fly. The skeletons are not NEARLY smart enough to follow those instructions. Consider this: It would take several weeks and sequentially increasing Handle Animal checks to teach a dog or something to do any of these. The dog is INFINITELY smarter than the skeleton.

The best you can manage is this: Follow my orders, and the orders of <These People>. If at any point they don't have an ongoing order, they cease activity completely. If you die, they become uncontrolled and therefore hostile.

The Shark can be ordered to closely follow the ship, but to get him to do these "If X, then Y" contingencies you need to specifically give him the order at the time. I.E. if you fall overboard, you'd need to specifically say "Catch me and let me ride you".

They're clearly stated preconditions. No intelligence required - a computer would have no intelligence, but give it preconditions and it'll do fabulously.

It's not that the dog is smarter - it's that it has intelligence. You have to teach it, because it learns. A skeleton receives and obeys commands. If I told it to solve a puzzle, it couldn't - but if I told it to make this exact sequence of moves when presented with said puzzle, it could, so long as those moves did not require it to actually thing.

All they're doing is following my spoken orders.

They do not have the intelligence to follow those orders. These are not computers, or even golems which can be "programmed" to follow complex orders to the letter. Mindless undead are just that: Mindless. They cannot follow complex orders.

As the Command Undead spell says: "When you control a mindless being, you can communicate only basic commands, such as "come here," "go there," "fight," "stand still," and so on."

I'm already being lenient by allowing "Follow the orders of these other creatures."

Yes, I can. I'll be right back with the CL and stuff of what I can craft.

EDIT: Here we go.

The Deets:

Ixrul has +16 on spellcraft. If someone will shell out 50/100 GP, Rynjin has said that a book of spellcraft could count as a masterwork tool for spellcraft, giving an additional +2.

The DC to craft a magic item is 5 + CL, + 5 more per requirement for casting that I do not meet.

Thus, if Ixrul has the spell, he can take 10 and craft something with CL 21. Decrease that CL by 5 per requirement I do not meet. Increase it by 2 if you can buy me the book and/or if Ace has at least +9 on spellcraft and can aid me.

Buying me spells so I can craft more stuff is welcome.

If it's easy enough to craft, I can halve the crafting time (1 day of work/1000 GP -> 4 hours of work/1000 GP) by taking another -5 penalty.

Also, I'm tempted to make a Blessed Book. It's pricey - about half of the money I got (6250 GP) - but it pays for itself after not too long. Worth?

SHOPPING SPREEEEE!!!

Jrahk sells his +1 Breastplate (+600 gp), buys a +1 Mithril Breastplate (-2200 gp), and adds a Furious enchantment to his Falchion (-6000 gp).

He also has Ixrul make him a Quick Runner's Shirt (-500 gp, DC 10).

Think it's worthwhile to get an Amulet of Mighty Fists with just a Furious enchantment (2000 gp)? It would basically give a +2 bonus to my natural attacks, and since I'm usually biting as part of a full-attack it would help make up for the penalty.

Wait, actually that interferes with my Natural Armor amulet. Hmmm.
