Rynjin |

It won't hurt to try. Unlike Intimidate, there are no real consequences for failing a Bluff other than the person doesn't believe you. And with your Stealth? Hey, it's not stealing if you don't get caught. =)

Rynjin |

Moving on, you can try it just as easily after I update this bit.
Ace wakes up to see Sandara standing over his bed, hands glowing with healing energy.
"Sorry I can't do any more for you, but that should get you on your feet at least." she says. You're at about 10 nonlethal damage, currently. As long as you don't take a bunch more you're good, and it'll continue to heal at a rate of 1 per hour.
"I should have warned about the rum rations. They're there to help keep the crew docile in the evenings, which is at the top of the officer's agenda right now. Get some sleep, you'll need it for when morning comes in a few hours." she says, and leaves.
The crew finishes their rest with no further incident. Everyone who took nonlethal damage heals a total of 8, bar Ace (who gets 3 on top of what was healed by Sandara).
The four other recruits head out the door as a loud bell tolls, urging Ace, Cyrdic, Slickjaw, and Lucy to get a move on. The pirates are not kind to lazy crew members who arrive late to work.
As you four head up to the main deck, a pirate comes down the stairs and shoves Cyrdic, nearly sending him tumbling back down the stairs.
"In a hurry?" he says, as he and his 4 companions laugh. Cyrdic recognizes him as the man (Fipps Chumlet) who rope bashed him yesterday for failing at hauling his rope.
His companions walk into clear view as well, you four recognizing them as some of the crew members usually working closest with Scourge, Aretta Bansion, Jaundiced Jape, And Slippery Sy Lonegan.
"About time we laid down the law, eh boys? And gels, I guess." he hastily amends as Aretta and Slippery glare at him.
He quickly recovers, however, and takes a swipe at Cyrdic, hitting him with a solid blow to the jaw. 3 nonlethal to you, Cyrdic
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Everyone roll Initiative, time for your first taste of combat. =)
Pirate initiatives after round 1:
Fipps: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Aretta: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Jape: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Slippery: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic's eyes narrowed and his jaw set. All right, this is it-it's just going to get worse from here. Might as well make a stand. Knowing that if he actually killed someone, it'd probably turn out really bad for him, he resolved to not summon his weapon for now, and instead just balled up his fists. "You know...the thing about the law is, generally people on a freaking pirate ship don't follow it. But I suppose you fish turds are too stupid to realize that.
Turning to Lucretia, Slickjaw and Ace, he murmurs "Hate to say it, but you guys are pretty much in this now. They'll come after you now that they've seen you with me. Can I count on your help?"
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Lucretia Ivera |

"You can count on me. I wouldn't pass up a chance to punch these idiot's faces in, team or no team." Lucretia cracks her knuckles and gets ready to fight.
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

I mutter"Oh bloody hell, and I still dont have my spellbook, but UI will try my best"
with a flourish, I get into a fighting stance and I say out loud "and now we must battle, like glimmering banjos on a moonlit stoop!"
Initative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Rynjin |

Ace, bruh, you DO have your spellbook, remember?
Slickjaw, Stealth is not possible. It's not dark enough and you're in plain view.
Slickjaw
Cyrdic
Jape
Slippery
Ace
Fipps
Lucy
Aretta
So, Slickjaw you're up. What do?

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic comes up to Fipps and attempts to trip him so that he falls down the stairs.
Combat Maneuver: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Rynjin |

Cyrdic steps up to Fipps and kicks his feet from under him, sending him crashing painfully onto the stairs.
Slippery and Japes step forward and take a swing at Slickjaw and Cyrdic.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 3 Nonlethal to Slickjaw.
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 3 Nonlethal to Cyrdic.
Ace, you're up.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Ignoring Japes' punch, Cyrdic looks at Fipps' prone form on the floor, knowing that he'll be rising again shortly. "If someone were to kick him while he was down...that might be kind of fun.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

Ace, noticing the opponent down, kicks him in the crotch for good measure, saving his magic for later.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
dmg: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Rynjin |

Fipps gets kicked by Ace while he's down, and he doesn't look to happy about that.
He crawls to his feet and glares at Ace before balling up his fist and tries to sock him in the face, but he misses terribly.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Lucy, you're up.

Lucretia Ivera |

Lucretia, yes she is also referred to as lucy get with the times dual noticing the only one who hasn't made a move other than her is Aretta, goes for her with a punch.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
That hits, right?
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Rynjin |

Actually, yes, that just barely hits.
"You b$+!+!" Aretta shrieks, as she punches Lucy back
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 2 nonlethal to Lucy.
A couple of things.
1.) For everybody: Please add your character sheet to your alias' profile. Saves me time having to look up the char sheet thread.
2.) Lucy/Corv, remember your Rage. Conserving it is good, I just wanna make sure you don't forget about your ability to make yourself tougher and scarier than anyone else on the team for a number of rounds per day.

Slickjaw |

your ability to make yourself tougher and scarier than anyone else on the team
For now ;)
(Assuming it's Slick's turn) Slick lunges over and punch Aretta in her upper lady parts (just flavor, Slick is just punching).CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Rynjin |

Change that label before you confuse me. If it's a regular hit, it's not a CMB check.
Slickjaw hits Aretta in the boob with a puny slap that nevertheless earns him an angry snarl.
Cyrdic you're up.
Slickjaw
Cyrdic
Jape
Slippery
Ace
Fipps
Lucy
Aretta

Cyrdic Forthill |

Seeing that Fipps is up now, Cyrdic decides that his best course of action is to hit him really hard before he gets hit again.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage (If Applicable): 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Rynjin |

Fipps stumbles backwards from Cyrdic's blow, but remains upright.
Japes and Slippery go after their chosen opponents again, Japes wallopping Cyrdic and Slippery taking a swing at Slickjaw.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Well okay then. Here comes some confirmations.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Neither confirmed, but two hits.
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
2 nonlethal to both of you.
C'mawn Ace, show 'em whatcha got.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

Ace decides not to use magic unless its absolute necessary, and its more honorable to use fists in a fistfight, choosing to take down the weakest, takes a swing at Fipps.
attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
but he fails horribly and misses.

Rynjin |

Dammit Ace, hit somethin'. =p
Fipps dodges Ace's blow and then takes a swing at Cyrdic, still reeling from the previous blow.
"Go down ye incompetent little snot!" he yells.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 4 nonlethal to Cyrdic.
Lucy, lay down the smackdown.

Lucretia Ivera |

I totally remembered I have rage whatchyutalkinbout
Lucretia rubs the spot where Aretta hit her. "You call that a hit? Seriously? I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT A HIT IT"
we rage now
Lucretia once again slips into the familiar soothing embrace of pure, unalderated rage, and swings for Aretta.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Rynjin |

That should be +6. You have 18 Str (+4 mod) normally, and the +4 from Rage gives you 22 Str (+6 mod). Also, on your HP on teh char sheet, do not write -4. Negative HP is VERY different in this game (it means you're unconscious AND DYING), so I don't want to get confused in some grueling fight and tell you you're bleeding out.
So you only did 9 damage, but that doesn't change anything.
Lucy lashes out with a mighty blow, hitting Aretta in the head and laying her out cold, her head hitting the ground with a painful sounding thud and a small cracking sound.
Welp, it was Aretta's turn, so back to the top. Slickjaw, you're up.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic's vision began to grow dark. He needed to end this fight, and end it fast. Narrowing his eyes, he growled at Fipps as he swung his fist at the pirate again-"Go down, eh? Funny-I said the same thing to your mother last night."
Outrage activate: +2 STR, -2 INT/WIS for 2 rounds or until I shut it off
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage (If Applicable): 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Rynjin |

Fipps turns to look at Cyrdic again just as his ham fist hits him in the face, laying Fipps out as well.
Jape moves in on Lucy, shouting "Uppity b$&+#!", as his strike connects with her face, as Slippery aims a kick at Slickjaw's bulbous head but misses because of his quick reflexes.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 2 nonlethal to Lucy.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Lucy and Ace, you're up.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

Ace decides its time to take action, and readies a shocking grasp.
attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
arms swinging, he hits Slippery with a lighting infused uppercut.
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
I say "Did that hurt? Sorry.
That sorry was sarcasm.
I am not sorry."

Lucretia Ivera |

Lucretia recovers from the punch from Jape and attempts to strike back.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
1d3 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
But... She misses.

Cyrdic Forthill |

As Fipps crashes down to the floor, a smile spreads across Cyrdic's face. "And stay down!" Turning his attention to Jape, Cyrdic hauls off and tries to take him down as well.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage (If Applicable): 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Sorry for going ahead of Dualjay, but it's almost one in the morning and I want to try and get some sleep, and I didn't want to hold the story up too much. Just put me after him if you need to.

Rynjin |

Slickjaw hops up as high as he can, and smacks Slippery hard enough to send her left breast flying upwards, smacking her in the face painfully.
She looks at him with unparalleled fury, and rears her leg back for as hard a kick as she can manage, as Cyrdic punches Jape in the gut hard enough to double him over. He manages to recover, however, and slugs Cyrdic back, though his punch is weakened by the pain.
Slippery connects with her kick, sending Slickjaw flying backwards to bounce off the side of the ship and land back beside her, on his feet, like a living ball.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 2 nonlethal to Cyrdic.
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 4 nonlethal to Slickjaw.
Ace and Lucy, you're up.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

Ace, wanting to finish things, aims a punch at Slippery
attack roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Lucretia Ivera |

Second time's the charm... Lucretia strikes out towards Jape once more.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Rynjin |

Ace smacks the injured and frazzled Slippery one last time, and she falls to the ground, while Lucy does the same to Jape, hitting him in the stomach so hard he spits blood and falls over.
Just like that, the fight is over, and the only sound that can be heard are the lapping waves, the crying seagulls, and the pained whimpers the unconscious pirates are making.
The crew heads back up the stairs, where they notice they've drawn a crowd at the open door. When you are seen coming up, money is seen exchanging hands, some pirates looking happy about this...and others glaring daggers at you for daring to win.
The day, after that, proceeds normally.
Lucy heads to the kitchens to check on Kroop.
1d100 ⇒ 100
1d6 ⇒ 4
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d6 ⇒ 4
Kroop seems to be sober enough to work today, and tells Lucy her job.
"I've got the kitchen handled today lass, but Plugg tells me ye've been assigned to cleanin' the bilges today fer yer impertinence last night. Head over there right away. It's filthy, sweaty work so I'd hop to it to get it done as fast as ye can if I were you."
The rest of them are assigned their work as well. Today, Cyrdic is working as a runner, passing messages from one side of the ship to another, while Slickjaw is charged with the job Cyrdic flubbed yesterday, hauling teh rope and knotting it where it needs to be.
Ace is also working with rope today, coiling and stowing them, and securing them as needed.
All of you make a Con check. Those of you with no ranks in Profession: Sailor, make a Fort save.
Lucy, I need a Strength check from you.
Cyrdic, I need an Acrobatics check from you.
Slickjaw, give me a Strength check.
Ace, a Dexterity check.

Rynjin |

I'm not doing EXP for this one. It's just easier if I level you at the predetermined guidelines because there's a buncha little s&*# to keep track of in this one for experience.
Slickjaw is feeling better today, but unfortunately is not any better at hauling rope than Cyrdic was, scattering the rope everywhere and making a right mess of things again. Fipps looks in rage at Slickjaw's handiwork, but he's still bruised from earlier so refrains from vocalizing his displeasure.
Later in the afternoon, Slickjaw sneaks his way into the Quartermaster's store, and is surprised to see that it's unlocked and unattended.
He tries a few of the locks and one he's able to open with a bit of time.
Inside, he finds exactly what he's looking for: His gear, along with that of Cyrdic, Ace, and Lucy.
As well, in this locker he finds a number of miscellaneous items, including 3 flasks of acid, 6 of alchemist's fire, four sets of thieves' tools (one of which is masterwork), an iron box containing 6 candles (one of which looks somewhat odd), and a finely crafted fiddle with the name "Rosie Cusswell" lovingly carved into the side of it.
Slickjaw remembers that Rosie had been in an uproar about not being able to get her fiddle back (in between rants about how she would cut teh hand off of anyone who tried to take her handaxe), and the attractive young halfling might be very grateful to anyone who returned it to her.

Lucretia Ivera |

D-D-D-DOUBLE KILL
Constitution Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Lucretia decides to sneak around, hoping to find something of interest in the ship.
Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Rynjin |

Lucy spends the day in the bilges, and though she finds it very hard, she manages to get through the grueling hours without messing up too badly.
Once done, she slips away to find anything of interest on the ship, but she doesn't find anything of use to her.
However, there is some good news. At some point during the day Lucy noticed she barely noticed the rocking of the boat any more. It seems she'd gotten her sea legs very quickly, and was no longer bothered by the waves.
If only your Perception were 1 better. By the by, you'll never have to make that Fort save again. =)

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

I work diligently, passively healing my
non-lethal dmg.
fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
constitution: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
dex: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 2 + 4 = 12
(sickened, -2, work hard, +4)
well that sucked.

Rynjin |

Should be another +2 there, working diligently cancels out your sickness and gives another +2.
Despite his stomach tying itself in knots, Ace was able to make it through the day without messing up his work by concentrating on it exclusively, though even then it was cutting it close a few times.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Thinking that the brawl had something to do with his previous incompetance, Cyrdic elects to work as hard as he can this day.
CON Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Rynjin |

Cyrdic diligently works on his task, running messages to and fro all day. The day passes with no mishap, and the crew makes it to dinner with little incident, besides Slickjaw's failure.
No major punishments are scheduled today, so at the Bloody Hour there is merely a number of lashings, and the crew gets to dinner.
Plugg and Scourge are glaring at them, but that's nothing new. They seem to have taken an immense disliking to you, but for what reason you're not certain.
Evening now. You can mingle with the crew, try some of the entertainments (they're kinda interesting, and you can make a little bit of money off of them), and take your Nighttime Actions. Slickjaw, what are you gonna do with your Fiddle? Also, assume everyone has their gear back now. Slickjaw, you can spin the how you got it back to them any way you like.
