just posting now so I dont have to worry later
with his scimitar Ace strikes one of the sailors, branding a large "A" on his forehead, then strikes again.
(spellstrike)

dmg1: 1d6 ⇒ 4
attack2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
dmg2: 1d6 ⇒ 4
but misses the 2nd time.
Cyrdic Forthill
"Not the only danger here? You're g%@#$~n right!" snarls Cyrdic as he swipes at the sailor.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Lucy screams again and goes on the attack with her claws once more. She rips into the chest of one of the sailors, piercing his heart and dropping him to the floor, though she misses the other to her frustration.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The final sailor looks in horror at the carnage.
He sighs defeatedly and sinks to his knees, dropping his weapon as he does so.
"I surrender. Dammit, I know I can't take you. Just do what you're going to do and have done with it."
Rynjin
Ace starts looting the corpses!
He finds, on the three corpses (and the dropped items from the surrendered sailor):
-4 short swords
-4 Heavy Crossbows
-3 sets of Leather armor
-57 crossbow bolts
Just as he finishes looting, a large explosion rocks the ship!
One of your crew can be heard screaming in the distance.
"AAAAAH! I'M ON FIRE! PUT ME OUT!"
What do you do with the captured sailor?
Cyrdic Forthill
As the soldier drops to his knees, Cyrdic lowers his weapon. He sighs a bit. "Look-what's your name, man? I really don't want to kill you. And honestly-I'm incredibly sorry about...all this." He gestures around at the carnage. "It's up to you here-I can tie you up and you'd come with us. Hell, the rate this battle's going, captain would probably let you stay on as a crew member. It's not optimal, but you'd still be alive. Hell, I'd be willing to help you out on the ship if you wanted. But I understand if you wanted to...you know, not be like me. I promise-if you want to take the other way out, I'll make it quick. The choice is yours though."
Rynjin
He wars with himself for a minute before deciding to speak.
"My name's James. James Alfrecht." He sighs.
He thinks for a moment.
"You know, I've always thought of myself as a loyal man, but I see which way the wind's turning here. Can you hear it? Battle's not going our way, that's for sure."
"Hell with it. I'm not one to fight for a lost cause. I'll take what slim hope I can get...tie me up."
After doing so, there is a moment of quiet. The sounds of the battle still rage in the background, but the aft deck is clear of anything living except the five of you.
You get a few seconds to catch your breath before you hear someone moving closer.
"Come on, come on, quickly now."
"Yeah hurry up Perkins, I'm not getting killed in this arse end of the sea and we need your help to get the boat down."
Soon afterward, bodies are put to voice, as 3 sailors make a mad dash for the starboard boats, not quite seeing you up in the sterncastle.
They begin tugging at the ropes holding the boat in place.
More Initiative! Unless you plan to let them escape.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Edit: Alex asked a good question: Is this a surprise round? Yes. They are about 50 feet away. You may take one Move or Standard action before combat really starts, regardless of your Initiative as compared to them.
Cyrdic Forthill
Upon seeing the sailors, Cyrdic motions to his friends to follow and starts walking towards them. Swinging his sword lazily around, he drawls "Not getting killed here, eh? Well, if you want to actually succeed on that resolution, I'd suggest you step away from the boat. Now."
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
TheGuyKnownAsAce
Ace tosses a crossbow and some to Cyrdic and Lucy (each gets one, plus 10 bolts each), and follows them
init.: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Ace
Lucy
Sailor 1
Cyrdic
Sailor 2
Sailor 3
The sailors turn to face the group.
"Yeah? Like we'd let 3 chumps like you stop us! You're all that stands between us and escape, we're not gonna let you ruin that!"
Ace, you're up.
TheGuyKnownAsAce
Ace tries again to go Zorro on one of the sailors
atk roll:arcane mark atk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 4
atk roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5
the sailor dodges the humiliating mark by inches, but gets hit by the return strike.
Lucretia Ivera GM Substitute
Lucy starts forward as the sailor screeches in pain and fear, a bit torn now that she's come out of her Rage.
Maybe we can just take these ones prisoner too?
She hesitates for a moment and voices her option out loud.
"Do you think we could just knock these guys out and tie them up too? They haven't hurt any of us yet."
Don't take this as a suggestion if you don't want to. Just playing the character with the route Corv seemed to be trying to sometimes.
Lucy delays until after you guys respond.
Zuzhou Cheng
Good! They're distracted!
"The boat, get the boat quick!" he says frantically to the other two guys, hoping the pirates don't overhear.
He begins tugging at the ropes again.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Blasted ropes, come loose! he sobs mentally.
Cyrdic Forthill
As Cyrdic sees the sailor continue to tug at the ropes, he begins to get angry. Closing the distance to him, he swings as hard as he can at the man. "I said...STEP AWAY FROM THE F$^*ING BOAT!"
Outburst + Power Attack: Same to-hit, +4 damage.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage (If Applicable): 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 1) + 10 = 15
Zuzhou Cheng
He sidesteps the blow and looks on in fear.
"GettheboatgetheboatgetheBOAT!" he yells.
The other two sailors start frantically working at the knots as well, while the first turns to face the group.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
One side of the boat slips down.
"Good! Just two more!"
Cyrdic Forthill
Cyrdic motions to his friends. "We let them get away, and the captain'll have our guts laid out on the deck for it! GET THEM!"
TheGuyKnownAsAce
Ace tries once more to spellstrike the fleeing sailors

Damn it, Cyrdic's right. Lucy thinks to herself.
With a battlecry she raises her falchion and chops down at the foremost sailor, slicing diagonally through his chest, beheading him and lopping off his right arm completely.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
2d4 + 9 ⇒ (3, 2) + 9 = 14
Cyrdic, yer up.
Cyrdic Forthill
Holy crap, I'm so glad Lucy's on our side...thinks Cyrdic as he swings at the same sailor as before.
Unless that's the one that Lucy just decapitated, in which case I'll gladly hit someone else. Also, same deal as before-outburst and power attack, I have 3 rounds left of outburst after this one.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage (If Applicable): 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 16
Zuzhou Cheng
Cyrdic strikes down one of the sailors as he fumbles with the boat.
The last one, desperate, tries to work even faster, but upon failing just slumps in defeat.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
He stands there for a moment before turning around and standing up straight again.
"Fine, if that's the way it has to be, that's the way it has to be."
With a tear in his eye, but a look of determination he holds his sword in front of his face in salute, and then holds it in a ready stance.
"Come on then, finish it. I'd rather die like a man than with my tail between my legs, bring it on."
Ace.
TheGuyKnownAsAce
Ace lowers his scimitar
"It dosnt have to end this way, my friend, I think we are actively "recruiting" members for our ship, so if you are interested, you can join us....
If you don't wish to lead such a life, I promise Ill try to make "it" quick...
The choice is yours my friend."
Zuzhou Cheng
He looks out over the ship, where the fog is parting.
Through the fog, it becomes clear that the battle is turning. The Rahadoumi crew had fought well, but most are scattering or surrendering already, especially after Harrigan steps out of the Captain's cabin...covered in blood and holding a human heart in his hands.
He blanches.
"Guess I don't have anything to gain by fighting, do I?" he says ruefully.
"Do what ye gotta do. At least you lot don't seem as bloodthirsty as a lot of pirates I've encountered in my time." he says as he drops his weapon.
Cyrdic Forthill
Cyrdic pats the sailor down for weapons quickly. "If it's any consolation, you're not the first one here today to join our cause...what's yer name, mate? I'm Cyrdic. Sorry for this, just a bit of a precaution. Can't be TOO safe." He ties the sailor up. What does he mean, 'not too bloodthirsty'? Harrigan just walked out carrying a fricking heart...good lord what am I getting myself into?
Zuzhou Cheng
He means you guys specifically...but I like your train of thought.
"Name's Colin Miller. And I understand, can never be too careful in a hostile takeover." he attempts a smile, but fails.
Zuzhou Cheng
Not long afterward, another group appears from the mist, running for the boat. Slickjaw, you can be here now too. Stealthed, I assume.
They stop when they see you, a bit surprised to see the bodies and guards on the boat.
The woman in front, obviously more well trained than the others, scowls at the pirates.
"Oy, you lot. Get out of my way and you might live to see the end of the day."
The two sailors get a good look at the blood covering the group, especially Lucy, and gulp.
"Um, lieutenant? I dunno if we should do this...I mean there's always the portside boat, right?" one of them says nervously.
"Nonsense. They don't look all that tough, and this one's nearly ready to shove off. We can take care of them in a few seconds and be on our jolly way."
She loosens her swords in their sheathes and takes out a long pike from off her back.
With a shouted word the pike extends, becoming a massive 20 feet long!
"Bring it on." she says to the group.
Mo 'nitiative.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rynjin
Okay so I completely forgot something important. Y'all should have been rolling for 20% concealment this whole time, not seeing people, further than 5 ft. away, etc. I won't retroactively screw you but from now on that's in play.
So for every attack roll you make, roll a d100 as well. If it's a 19 or below, it misses, even if the attack roll hits.
Sorry about that.
The fog moves back in, covering the battlefield in misty gray that obscures easy vision. The sailors can no longer be seen at all.
Rynjin
Yep. It's an AoE, doesn't need a target. You won't be able to use single target spells in the fog from further than 20 feet away though. You're about 20 feet away from them.
Which reminds me of something else, you need to be making Concentration Checks every time you cast your spells in melee (like your Shocking Grasp and your Arcane Mark, not Color Spray from 10 feet out and stuff.
Rynjin
how 2 do a conc. check, I saw the guide but I dont get it
DC for a Concentration check to Cast Defensively is 15+Double Spell Level. So DC 15 for 0-level spells (like Arcane Mark) and DC 17 for 1st level spells (Shocking Grasp), and 19 for 2nd level spells, etc.
Making one is simple: 1d20+Caster Level+Casting Stat
In your case, that is Caster level 2, plus 16 Int (+3) for a total of +5. You need a 10 or higher to Cast Defensively for a 0 level, and a 12 or higher for 1st level.
You can choose not to, but then you provoke an AoO. And if you get hit, the DC to keep your spell is MUCH higher.
Your chances are only about 50/50 now, but as you go up in levels they become auto-successes, really, especially since Shocking Grasp is your bread and butter spell. Trying to Spellstrike with Arcane Mark doesn't really cost you anything (except that -2 on attack rolls from using Spell Combat), since you have unlimited.
Zuzhou Cheng
Loud cursing drifts from the fog.
"Can't see a damned thing, blast this fog. Now where was that beefy one standin' out front..."
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d100 ⇒ 35
1d100 ⇒ 1
The massive pole comes swinging out of the fog in a wide arc, narrowly missing Cyrdic's head as it sweeps through. As it swings by, Cyrdic notices that it seems to be shrinking as it straightens out again, before it disappears back into the mist.
Slickjaw, you're up. You're about 30 feet away from the woman when you come up, and you can't see jack. Note that moving in fog requires an Acrobatics check to move faster than half your speed, and Stealth already halves your speed, so you're moving at 1/4 of your max speed without Acrobatics.
