Desperate to stay out of the light of Seker, of Ra-Horeckty, of Osiris, of Horus the Hawk-Headed Avenger, the vampire contorts his pale, lean, muscular body like a circus acrobat, narrowly evading the searing light of the Sun!

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

The little Lord seeing the undead squared pulls from his mag little bag a bottle of Brandy.
"OOOo, that has got to hurt, so I think a drink will help ya"
and with a flick of his hand sends it into the face of the Vampire Lord.

A beam of holy light pierces the monster, and with a final strangled cry of hate and despair, it bursts into flames and is consumed, leaving only a black smoke that seeps into the stone sarcophagus!

Mwikali |

"I am sorry Lord, but I have yet to learn how to create such a wondrous item. I might try to rebuild it"She says a bit forlorn.

Giovanna di Domenico |

so no neg level for me...my parry countered it...right?
Well done! Let's sit for a moment and catch our breath. Then see what this monster had...he might have some captives or thralls... Vanna says as she flicks the black blood off her blade. She takes a pull off her waterskin as she grabs a chair and rests for a bit.

Mwikali |

"This is true. I am glad the curse of this dead is cleansed, now we can control Safi. Make it a free port for all save the slave trade"Mwikali says looking at the others with a smile of success.

Rapunzel’s Weave |

Sadly, it becomes apparent to Lord Perpireen that the magic rope is not playing a trick this time. The vampire has destroyed it in his wrath and rage. But Rapunzel’s Weave made a brave sacrifice that was key to the Desert Jackals’ victory over and survival of the vampire, which shall not be forgotten.

Michael Johnson 66 |

Returning topside, the adventurers are reunited with the surviving members of their liberated followers, who rejoice in the victory achieved above and below. They recount the battle and the mysterious assassin who murdered O’Reilly and Lord Godfrey, and how Plad defeated the villain in a spectacular aerial battle over the monastery...
The thralls, now liberated from the vampiric domination, are grateful that they were liberated and given mercy, and swear allegiance to the Desert Jackals to a man. Safi has been purged of the evil that has plagued it these past few moons, and the people have a new company of heroes to thank for their salvation!

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Hearing that O’Reilly and Lord Godfrey were dead, Wulfgar nods, "They will be missed, but well done Plad. did the assassin or O'Reilly or Godfrey have any gear of note?" He then turned to the freed thralls, "You will assist us in keeping Safi a free city. the equipment you own is yours, did your fallen comrades or masters have any equipment of note?"
Then gesturing toward himself, and possibly others, "We have been severely drained by the master vampire, do any of you have prayers that could help us? We still have a job to do in Marrakech."

Father Abelarde of Reims |

Hearing that O’Reilly and Lord Godfrey were dead, Wulfgar nods, "They will be missed, but well done Plad. did the assassin or O'Reilly or Godfrey have any gear of note?" He then turned to the freed thralls, "You will assist us in keeping Safi a free city. the equipment you own is yours, did your fallen comrades or masters have any equipment of note?"
Then gesturing toward himself, and possibly others, "We have been severely drained by the master vampire, do any of you have prayers that could help us? We still have a job to do in Marrakech."
Father Abelard answers Wulfgar, stepping forward and making the sign of the cross over the Northman, and then touching him on the forehead, praying, In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I pray thee, O Lord, render unto thy servant Wulfgar thy greater restoration, replenishing him in the spirit that was stolen from him by the servant of the Evil One. Amen.
Casts greater restoration on Wulfgar and Lady Giovanna, removing the negative levels they accrued from the vampire’s strikes.

Plad Rilfindar |

Hearing that O’Reilly and Lord Godfrey were dead, Wulfgar nods, "They will be missed, but well done Plad. did the assassin or O'Reilly or Godfrey have any gear of note?" He then turned to the freed thralls, "You will assist us in keeping Safi a free city. the equipment you own is yours, did your fallen comrades or masters have any equipment of note?"
Then gesturing toward himself, and possibly others, "We have been severely drained by the master vampire, do any of you have prayers that could help us? We still have a job to do in Marrakech."
He had this... replies Plad, showing Wulfgar the rolled up carpet of flying, elven chain armor, adamantine +1 corrosive rapier named ”Bilethorn”, dagger of venom named ”Adder’s Tongue”, cloak of elvenkind, boots of elvenkind, belt of physical might +2, amulet of natural armor +1, ring of protection +1, ring of featherfalling, onyx-lensed goggles, masterwork blowgun and venom-coated darts (22), and bag of holding (IV) looted from the dark elf assassin’s corpse.

Plad Rilfindar |

Closing his eyes and prays with Father Abelarde, Wulfgar, much refreshed, nods to the Priest, "Thank you father, I thrust that you will stay here in Safi with us."
Looking to Plad Wulfgar looks at the equipment. "You have won many fine items, have you considered what you will do with them?"
Yes, sir, I have. In gratitude for the freedom you have restored to me, and in admiration of your brave deeds, I offer this loot as tribute to you and your companions, to do with it what seems meet to you. I already have fine enough equipment, anyway, and have little need of this dark elf assassin’s panoply...

Michael Johnson 66 |

In addition to the equipment looted from Spinner by Plad and gifted to the adventurers, the following treasure is stored up in a vault under the monastery keep:
5,010 gold shekels
22,018 silver shekels
103,455 copper rupees
15 gems worth an average of 100 gp each (1,500 gp total value)
27 gems worth an average of 50 gp each (1,350 gp total value)
45 gems worth an average of 20 gp each (900 gp total value)
Jewelry and art objects worth a combined total of 15,000 gp (weighing a combined total of 50 pounds)
A +1 shocking greatsword named ”Blitzenjaeger”
A ring of force shield
A cape of the mountebank named ”The Irish Farewell”
A batwinged helm (as cloak of the bat except takes up head slot)
A bag of holding type I

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

sits sadly trying to put the two ends of the rope together. But its clear the rope is broken. Then he seems to make his mind up and puts the rope parts into his magic bag.
"I shall carry this until I find one with the craft to remake it"
Then he follows the other up, but he seems sad again as he finds some of the fellows dead, by evil hands.
"Give me a lock of each of their heads. I shall carry them until I find a life mage that can remake them as well"

Michael Johnson 66 |

Between the Spanish corsairs who sail the Alanqilis, the gladiators, the harem girls, the formerly enthralled monks, and the talking tiger and vultures, the Desert Jackals have a fairly impressive following of retainers capable of holding and administrating Safi. This is a great victory for them, and it would also seem to be a great victory for Portugal and the rest of the world, at least to those not allied with or profiting off of the Arab Slave Trade.
Prince Henry of Portugal will no doubt wish to claim the port for Portugal, and along with Ceuta, use it as a beachhead for further conquest of Morocco, but that is a matter for the heroes to consider for the future...

Mwikali |

I like the bag of holding Type 1, otherwise, I would probably gift a few to one of the NPCs I'll take as a Protege'
Speaking of what are a list of the NPCs we have left?
"I too could use some of your Divine aid, Master Abelarde. The Unclean ones affected us. I too do not feel the same. I do know that now we can rest and aid our new found friends and compatriots! Let us set up the city as the Free Port and cleanse it of the taint of Slavery" Mwikali says as she then looks to Wulfgar.
"We may send word to a group of my people. They may come to aid us and free themselves from the thralls of a war of supremacy. One to see who leads our Kingdom. My people have followed strong women over men, and I doubt the Kingdom would love to follow such a woman. If you wish and they agree, they could relocate here to help us?"
"You all may see if any other people you know may wish to come and aid in our new endeavor"

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Looking up from the newly acquired gear, Wulfgar shrugs, "Whoever wants to settle here is welcome. they can learn to fish so they are not a burden. But we must be careful with governments. If we set any government other than Safi itself, we will offend Henry of Portugal. Any perceived slight would force him to claim Sovereignty. So it must be avoided at all costs."
Gesturing east, "We can decide details later. That assassin was sent for us, we must return to Marrakech before the Emir realizes his plot has failed."
Rolling out the 'magic carpet' "Now there is a pretty thing."
MJ66 how big is the carpet?

Giovanna di Domenico |

Grazie, Padre. Would you say a few words for the dearly departed. They should get a proper burial, after all. And maybe a blessing on their graves to prevent any necromantic aspirations. We should set about making a base here...can't see why not...have to call somewhere home, right? Vanna says after a quick prayer for the fallen comrades

Mwikali |

"I'll make sure the local spirits will protect them and keep them. As for home. I don't see why not." She says as she looks to Wulfgar.
"I see the possible conflict. I just want them away from the fighting and in someplace that is semi at peace. The women of my people can become more than just child bearers, but the influence of these outside religions has taken its toll. If I bring them here to a place unbound to either the words of Allah or the Words of Yahweh then I feel they could flourish. I doubt the good king would mind a group of native peoples willing to work together especially when they would be willing to serve as scouts and soldiers!" She says with a smile.

Father Abelard bows and agrees to give O’Reilly and Godfrey last rites and a Christian burial.

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

Dose not really get what the mortals are doing but once its over sings himself a happy little Song

Mwikali |

Mwikali gets a few locals to aid the Father bestowing rights to appease all other powers that be!

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Rolling his eyes, but not saying anything, as Mwikali gets a few of the locals to 'appease the powers' Wulfgar addresses their friends, old and new. "We six, now five, were hired to assassinate the Emir and are honor bound to attempt it. Though our first journey to Marrakech ended with failure and imprisonment, we were able to free ourselves and meet many of you."
Taking a moment to look at those who had traveled through the desert with them. "The Emir is aware of our presence now and has sent an assassin to end us. He has failed but will no doubt send more if we do not stop him, first; or die trying. If we fail it would be a pity that the gains we have made here in Safi be for not. So I ask you friends, those with the talent, ability or wherewithal, to stay here and see that Safi remain a free city."
He looks at the newly freed thralls. "It will take all of you working together. So raise your hands if you will stay and help. If you have a particular gifting for leadership or infrastructure speak now, so we may know who to place in charge."
He then looks to his original comrades, "We should prepare and rest, then leave before the sun rises."

Altin Karela |

Altin has been watching the developments since the defeat of the vampire and his thralls from the sidelines, observing but staying out of it. Why is it that I'm happy to risk my life, my soul even, to help liberate these people, but when the battle's done and the chaos needs organising I step out? Am I just in it for the excitement? Do I not even really care?
Sipping on wineskin, Altin reflects on this for a while, watching some of the others marshalling the residents of Safi, organising them, directing them, doing their best to help them restructure their world. In the end, he shakes his head. I'm just a Traveller, is all. My people don't live like this; the road is my life. Existential crisis over, Altin throws back the rest of the wine and goes to seek out Wulfgar to help plan the rest of their journey.

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

Wulfgar addresses their friends, old and new. "We six, now five, were hired to assassinate the Emir and are honor bound to attempt it."
Lord P wages his finger,
"I would like to correct that, You Mortals where hired to kill another Mortal. I took no coin and agreed no contract. I am here only as an Observer. The King under the Hill would not like it for one of his Ambassadors to do such a deed as assassination."
He chuckles as if to a privet joke.

Mwikali |

"Ah but just because you do not deal the blow does not mean your invisible hand is not involved" Mwikali says with a grin.
"Let us get coffee and seek baubles, for I feel we may need some more potent magic in the days ahead"

Mwikali |

"Too True Little Lord." She says with a smile as she leans in.
"I do plan on seeing if there are any spells or tomes on repairing the enchantment of our short-lived friend? I may be able to save him or at least create someone anew?" She whispers to the tiny lord before she looks at the others.
"Let us head out to resupply and prepare for our travel and battle ahead!"

Plad Rilfindar |

The dwarves should be able to run Safi without my guidance in, oh... a few moons... they aren’t as daft as most dwarves, these blokes... Then, I’ll act as ambassador to Avalon from The Freed Safi... I may be able to muster some support and rally a few Fey allies to lend their aid to this new venture...

Mwikali |

"Thank you, my friend. When you get there if you can find them, women of clan Swasvari, I would greatly appreciate it. We are a warrior tribe that trains our women to fight more fiercely then our men who are more business minded. Please give them this." She says handing the tiger her tribal color with stitching on it.
