"This door is thick with water, and will only be able to be opened with force." He looks to the short ones, then speaks to the half-orc. "Perhaps you wish to muster the strength of your heritage?"

Leopold Rumblehold |

"Oh, ok, ok, I'll quiet down."
"I don't have any particular tricks for opening the door or dealing with the water beyond. Let's check the southern passage and see if it yields a more favorable result."

Aothan |

Aothan shakes his head at the unneded apology, "Please, speak as you wish. I have the luxury of infinite lifetimes for conversation. I do not wish to stifle yours."
"Though I believe we should open one of these doors. We may appear failures to the conductor outside with our goings and leavings."

Karsk |

"You make a point. Let's just open the door. Everyone ready?" Karsk asks.
If no one disagrees and everyone is ready, Karsk tries to open the door.
STR: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

With his first shove, Karsk is able to open the door. No water floods out and the room is completely dry.
In side five large, corpselike figures stand lined up against the far wall. Each has a different number carved into the flesh of its chest: 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13. At the sound of the door opening, one of the figures turns its head and speaks. “One of us does not belong with the others,” it says.
“If you can pick out the interloper, we will allow you passage. If you pick the wrong one, we will kill you. You have 1 minute, and one guess.”
While "1 minute" is hard to time over PbP, this is how I'll time the interaction. I'll look at how much discussion there is between the players or events will occur sometime Monday night if an answer isn't given.

Leopold Rumblehold |

I was thinking of primes as well.
"Agreed." Leopold points to the body with nine carved into it. "You are divisible, your friends are not."
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 So close!

Karsk |

Karsk allows himself a small grin before trying to lift the bars. "Your sure there are no traps, right?" He asks Aothan before grabbing and lifting on the portcullis.
Lift!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
1..2..3..LIFT!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
1..2..3..LIFT!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

You've still left your pets back with the sphinx. You had to pass the western threshold by saying "Coffin"
Karsk grabs a hold of the base of the portcullis. He's able to find a sold grip on the bars as they feel a bit tacky. The half-orc lifts once and the bars don't bend. He strains again and the gate doesn't lift. One more effort and the portcullis begins to move . . . as the top crossbars swing down upon Karsh.
Surprise Round Constrict vs Karsh's FF CMD: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Karsk dodges out of the way, but his hands are still firmly stuck to the portcullis. It swirls around and tries to wrap up the bloodrager.
Karsh: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Nigel: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Leo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Aothan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Portcullis of Doom: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Karsh, Leo & Aothan are up!
You are technically grappled now. By voluntarily grabbing the PoD, you allowed yourself to get stuck to the creature. You can try to pry yourself off with a Strength check or any other ideas.

Karsk |

It's Karsk, like the drink! *Actually I made the name up and until about three minutes ago, had no idea such a thing existed with that name.
Karsk's eyes widen with surprise as he pulls back, but can't let go of the bars. Turning and looking to his right, he says to Aothan. "I thought you said this thing was safe!" Starting to howl with rage, the half-orc form begins to blur as he jerks his arms and squats his legs, trying to release himself from the sneaky portcullis!
CMB?, Rage: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 = 25
Enter rage and use bloodline power arcane rage to apply blur. Try to let go!

Aothan |

"I did not see. I apologize for the failure in earnest," Aothan apologizes while drawing his non-holy symbol kukris as a move and takes a singular swing!
+1 Kukri: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 241d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Leopold Rumblehold |

That sounds like the worst drink ever, haha.
"Oh boy. Here we go."
Casting grease on Karsk.
Almost all of my spells are enchantment. I'm not going to be a lot of use against a construct besides buttering everyone up.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Aothan |

Ha, plus this is an ooze most likely, so my Sneak Attack isn't happening either.
DM: Is any Amorphousness obvious or no? Additionally, would the stuck kukri situation imply that using Greater Teleport would or wouldn't work? Not sure if it's counting as attended by both of us or what. (Though I'm also wary about any Teleport Traps...)

Leo greases up Karsk that reminds him of his oil wrestling days back on the hog farm.
The PoD continues to change and morph, the crossbars growing into long, glistening tentacles with sharp teeth along their edges.
It continues to attack Krask as it lashes out with one of its tendrils.
Slam vs Krask: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 251d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
The adhesive-covered PoD automatically grapples Krask with its successful hit.
Party is up!

Nigel Briarthane |

Nigel, seeing his allies weapons sticking decides to shoot instead, stepping back from reach
"What in the crazy abyss is that? Anyone know? . "
If anyone can ID the type of creature, Nigel will bane his bow.
longbow, melee: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 10 - 4 = 20 vs grappled? damage : 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 +2 vs magical beasts favored.

Leopold Rumblehold |

Probably doesn't apply but here's all I have:
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Leo will now butter up Aothan.
Just trying to protect everyone from grab/constrict if I can. Not much else I can do.

Aothan |

Aothan tests the limits of his abilities in this dungeon to use Greater Teleport to the opposite side of Karsk and uses his new greasiness to attack again (but this time with flanks!)
Kukri (flanks, Aid): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 = 251d4 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (5, 3) = 14
reflex vs adhesive skin: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
If teleporting doesn't work (and leaves Aothan where he's at), he'll still attack but lose the 2d6 and 2 to-hit.

Karsk |

Note: When Karsk went into rage, he had blur activated, so there should be a miss chance.

Miss Chance, low misses: 1d100 ⇒ 22
Nigle fires an arrow over Karsk's shoulder, piercing the creature's fat tentacle.
Leopold is unable to recall what this creature is. He then Greases Aothan.
Aothan winks out of existence and appears behind the PoD. Standard Action
He then draws his other kukri. Move Action
Karsk is up!

Yes you can Karsk. That roll just won't do it.
Sure thing Aothan. You can keep those rolls.
Karsk tries to gain control of the grapple, but the creature seems to be quite agile.
The Portcullis of Doom tries to wrap up the half-orc in an attempt to constrict him.
Constrict vs Karsk CMD: 1d20 + 10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 5 = 191d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Karsk fends off the PoD as the two wrestle for position.
Aothan quickly stabs the creature in the back. He is then able to whip the kukri away before it can adhere.
Aothan has a move action, everybody else is up!

Nigel Briarthane |

Nigel will shoot again after calling a judgment of destruction upon the creature.
longbow, judgement: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 10 - 4 = 7 damage, judgement : 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8

Aothan connects again, but loses Kukri #2 to the adhesive skin. He looks to the grappler that isn't object-like, "May I use your axe?"

Nigel will shoot amongst the grapplers
"hang in there karsk, you got it now bud ."

Leo continues to pelt his cooking ware at the creature, this time tossing a plate at it!

Does a plate have a 19-20 crit range? lol.

Aothan's attack is true, but his grip slips at the last minute. It remains stuck to the sticky gate. Aothan then retrieves Karsk's axe during the melee.
Karsk is able to pin the PoD, gaining the upper hand in the match.
Now pinned, Nigel is able to get a clear shot. He is able to tack one of the wild tenticles to the floor.
Leopold tosses the Plate of Destiny at the Portcullis of Doom. It cracks one of its teeth.
Most of the life has been taken out of the PoD, but it still tries to fight back.

It looks pretty awful.
