Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Please download and read through the Council of Thieves Players Guide prior to finishing and posting your character.

Character creation information:
All characters must be halflings (obviously). Characters will be made using the point buy generation method (20 alloted points) and will have the maximum potential starting gold for their class. Characters will also have 2 traits. Hero points will not be used. Everything from te CRB and APG is allowed (but we will probably avoid the trouble that Leadership brings unless someone has their heart truly set on it). Things from other sources will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Most things will likely be allowed, but I'm not familiar will all of the material under the sun to promise that it can all be in. Include a biography for your character. Every character gains the Weapon Finesse feat at 1st level. Everyone gains the feats in the Vital Strike feat chain upon meeting their prerequisites. Characters do not need to list an alignment. Disenchanting magic items, as previously explained, is also allowed.

Gameplay information:
I've stated this in the other thread, but I want to reiterate it here just so everyone is perfectly aware: Unlike most games where everyone is expected to post at least once a day if possible, the pace of this game is going to be much more casual. 2 or 3 posts a week should be more than enough. My GM posts will be longer, more descriptive narratives to compensate for the reduced number of them. You are more than welcome to post more often if you would like (and I will certainly make an effort to do likewise).

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

So are we hypothetically here or really here? :D

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

We are really here.

Hypothetically.

I'd ask if you ever sleep, but then I look at my around-the-clock posting (as in random times, not regular) and see that I have no reason to question how someone else always seems to be on. :)

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

Hahaha! It is a proper time to be on now, it is 6pm here. We usually talk when it is 4-6am here. Hahaha And no. I never sleep. Also I have a RL game tonight so I'm getting my posting done now! :D

female Halfling Bard 2

Whoot! I got a template for posting my profile stats and stuff. I'm actually super excited, too.
>w< I am an incorrigible bard, because most parties dunnae have one. We're BUFFERS.

Edit: Though I'm using a different character.

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

*Contemplates changing the title of Chapter 1 from Bastards of Erebus to We Are NOT Children.

I'm not sure I've ever played a party without a bard. Not since 2nd edition anyway. Maybe in 3.0... Definitely not 3.5. I'm about to start GMing a campaign with two bards, although they use archetypes to masquerade as different roles (archaeologist and dervish dancer.)

Just goes to show, everyone's experience is different.

Female Halfling Commoner 1

@Ringtail: Is sign language okay for a language? In the other campaign I played in where there was a deaf oracle, we called it "Katapeshi Thief Sign."

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Sign would be fine. Flavor it however you like (such as "Katapehsi Thief Sign" or "Chelish Street Sign").

female Halfling Bard 2

Do our characters know one another already?

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

That is probably something we should get worked out.

Once you guys get your characters basically hammered out; did you want to have known each other previously? Or, if we decide to do a Chapter 1/2 introduction where everyone is a 1st level commoner, we could have some or everyone's backstories intersect? The first book works equally well if the party is newly acquainted or old friends/family.

female Halfling Bard 2

Well, I also need to know how we turn in character sheets, and what form you want them in. I'd also like to know somebody in the campaign.

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Just go ahead and put your character sheet in your character's alias and I'll be able to check them at any time by checking the "characters" tab. I can post an example or two of common stat block templates if you would like.

As far as knowing somebody in the campaign; are you referring to another PC or NPCs?

PCs, and I'd like that. I have some things listed already, but readability is an issue as I don't know all the coding on this site.
Also, I'm not familiar with COT. Any ideas where I should look? Just google it, maybe?

Here are...

Some of my...

Characters for example.

Liberty's Edge

Just letting you know I've seen the new thread!

It reads like a Monster Manual.
By jove, I think I've got it!
-skitters off to fix things-

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

In the first post of this discussion thread is a link to the CoT Player's Guide, which should have all of the information you will need. In the Campaign information tab I have a brief summary listed, which also has links to the major locations in Pathfinder Wiki. Coding can be found in a spoiler beneath your posting box.

I feel stupid about the first thing, but the how to format your text button doesn't work consistently for me.
Thanks again.

Many people have their own style; just clicking on some of the others here will likely show pages formatted differently. Since I normally GM I find it easiest to find things on my own sheets if I format them like monsters. As long as it is organized and readable, whatever you are most comfortable with should be fine.

I'm still interested I'll toss in my ninja character later tonight, but I'll also throw in another halfling I had made for a RotRL game that didn't get picked as an alternate. Whichever fills a role we need more or whichever character is liked the most I'll play I'm leaning towards ninja, but who knows.

I've played through the first two parts of this AP already with my regular gaming group. We completely balked at the idea of 'Children of Westcrown' and instead named our band 'The Nightwatch' we all wore the same masks and outfits and pretended to be a single batman-like super-hero. It was considerable fun.

On a side note since we're all picking up weapon finesse for free would you mind me picking up dervish dance at level 1 by waiving the 2 ranks in dance prerequisite as long as my first level and 2nd level I put ranks into dance? I can wait till level 3 if not.

Male Hafling Master Summoner

Here's my mentally imbalanced slightly retarded Carny halfling Master Summoner who's Eidolon happens to be an 'eventually flying' rainbow coloured platypus-horse thing.

His tactics will include riding atop a rain-bow colored platypus hopefully with wings eventually and tossing down BF-control spells and throwing wolverines at peoples faces. His background was too much fun to write to not consider playing him.

Backround:
Helshan grew up impoverished an impressed into slavery to wealthy Chelexians in his youth like so many of his kind before him. One day he happened upon an ancient Thassilonian relic whilst exploring a forbidden section of his masters study. The forbidden section doesn't clean itself you know!

He found an ancient tablet and what did the tablet do? Well it began to speak to him. It asked to be fed it hungered for blood. So what did Helshan do? Well he pricked his finger and wiped some blood on the creepy tablet that's what he did, because Helshan is like that partially insane, insatiably curious, and quite possibly mildly retarded.

In any case the ominous ancient tablet of unfathomable dark and mysterious power's hunger sated for the time being offered Helshan his freedom. Curious Helshan decided to fetch his master as all issues regarding the relinquishing of rightful property rights must have the consent of properties holder.

Upon retrieving his master the Chelish Noble was enraged that the mere halfling servant had been poking around in the forbidden section of his study and drove into a long angry tirade about the word forbidden and how when it's combined with the word section holds a particularly easy to grasp connotation.

Around hour 3 into his berating the horrible ancient tablet of unfathomable arcane power suddenly crumbled to dust and Helshan heard the words echo through t his mind "I set you free" as a strange rune was suddenly inscribed upon his head.

What Helshan found even more peculiar than the strange new rune that adorned a top his forehead was the sudden appearance of an extra-planar beast that can only really be described as a giant rainbow colored platypus.

Helshan was even more astounded when the strange platypus suddenly inexplicably attacked his master slaying him with a few vicious snap of is deadly bill and sharpened claws.

Helshan was however not at all surprised when he discovered shortly after as his masters blood pooled on the ground that the odd new creature could talk. They soon introduced each other and became fast friends.

Languishing over his masters death stricken with the devastating grief of freedom from a lifetime of toil and oppression Helshan decided to leave Imperial Cheliax's capital the city of thorns firstly to travel the countryside with his new friend and secondly because he was also quite likely wanted for murder and the possible thievery of his former masters incredibly fine hat. He has since settled in Westcrown and is a local oddity.

Over time he discovered his new inherent power to call forth a multitude of creatures as if out of thin air and put his skills to use teaching his rainbow platypus to preform exciting stage tricks as he pulled birds and various other animals out creatures out of his own fine hat.

Description:
Helshan appears an odd halfling. A finely trimmed black beard runs down his faced tied to a knot at the end. Atop his head is a rather large square shaped top hat that seems to be half his size covering his balding head. He caries with him a cain and wears suspenders with a fine ringleaders coat with a multitude of mismatched pockets, buttons, and buckles. He has wild green eyes and a hooked nose.

Personality:

Helshan is a bit cooky his words are often minced entirely with sarcasm with an edge of bemused insanity. He's very fond of his attire and his giant rainbow colored platypus named Ragyorancon or as he is most often refers to him as Ragy or simply 'pumpkin'. He's a bit of a hoarder and notorious lush. He's a ostentatious and extravagant in his mannerisms.

He often has a penchant for near suicidal acts daring and enjoys terrorizing young children.

I'll through up a proper stat-bloc later if I decide to play with him.

** spoiler omitted **...

That is an amusing personality you have there.

Liberty's Edge

Ringtail, may I use the Polysummoner archtype and Close Bond feat found here?

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Both should be fine.

Polysummon Summoner gives up Summon Monster (Sp); ouch!

Just make sure you have list of spoilers in your profile for each eidolon (or give them each their own alias, if you prefer).

Female Halfling Commoner 1

Here's a backstory. It's a little darker than the other ones I'm seeing in the group. I left the end open, for Chapter 0, or to tie in with other characters' backstories. Sophone could also have contacts from before her years of slavery, either siblings or connections through the Bellflower Network.

Please, someone else use a bonus language on Bellflower Network Secret Sign Language.

Presenting Silelia Banksi, Halfling Vivisectionist Chirurgeon Alchemist.

Please let me know if anything I'm using doesn't pass muster...

I was already using Conspiracy Hunter as her background and Bellflower stuff will be easy to add at the end of her backstory, so I'll go ahead and do that to allow for tie-ins with Sophone or others.

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

And I am back. Ello all my Pint-Sized pals! :D RL Game was fun but I am back and ready for action!

Word to your mother, though I have the trait 'Freed Slave', which I now realize isn't in the core or advanced, but halflings of Golarion, or the Cheliax guide....

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Lupi/Halflingtime: Freed Slave is fine for use. I see no errors on your character sheet and currently have no questions on your background. So you look good to go.

Dizzy/DarkestHeart: Your damage on your child-sized curve blade should be +3 rather than +2 (Strength and a half). Type a backstory into your alias when you get a chance. Otherwise you look ready to get started as well.

Silelia/Aoth Anskuld: We already had a full group of players and weren't really looking to recruit anymore for the time being. I wouldn't be opposed to another as long as the rest of the group isn't and you don't mind the slower, more casual pace as noted in the opening post.

Sophone/Gordon the Whale: Character looks mechanically sound. I'll get back to you if I have any questions on the backstory.

Lyle/Dragonborn3: Let me know when you are finished and if you decide to go Polysummon Summoner.

Helshan/Waltz: No comment just yet, I'm going to take a few minutes this evening to comb over everyone's backstories.

The more casual pace means more interaction between characters, I would think. So I'm psyched for this.
>w<

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

So it is, so it is.Ill get a background up as soon as I can! :)

I'm excited for it.

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

As am I! :)

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Get outa' here, elf-y! Halflings only! *glares*

:)

Reading about the reformation again, and OH MY GOD. Whistle, get back to your proper size! D8

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Indecent, isn't it?

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

-Shrinks back to normal and looks faint for a moment- That was weird... I thought I was tall for a moment... Damn weird!

Dizzy Whistle wrote:

Is everything alright now?!

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Maybe Dizzy should multiclass with alchemist so he can use extracts of alter self?

Oh, dear lord... Alchemists! I need to look into getting evasion if we've more than one...

Female Halfling Commoner 1

Silelia, did you mean to put your character in the other all-halfling campaign that's starting?

I have no objection to the character, she seems to fit this campaign. 6 is starting to get big, and I definitely wouldn't want a 7th, but I expect we could manage.

I like that we have an all-halfling party with no rogue, yet the rogue class features are getting grabbed through archetypes of other classes. (Unless Waltz is still planning on the ninja? Still not really a rogue.)

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

Yes yes, all is fine. The nasty Elf Poisoner has gone away! Also, no need to dodge the Bombs if our Alchemists are smart and take Precise Bombs. lol

That would be hilarious but... I'd like to get to Cav level 7 so I can have a large Wolf as my Companion.

"Heh... Look at the pip-squeak with the sword. What ya gonna do? Cut my kneecaps? Heh..." Trails of drool rain down on the Half Orc as Cerberus looms behind him. "Hey... Is it raining...?"

Dizzy grins darkly, before shouldering his blade. "Cerberus... Dinner time!"

lol

Brony Vegetarian Book Worm 1 / Gambler 13 / Zombie Slayer 6

Luckily for Dizzy elves are children for, like, a century, so they need small curve blades to train their young during that time. So at least his finding extras of his favored sword shouldn't be more difficult than finding any other exotic weapon.

Male Halfling Commoner / Lvl 1 / Cavalier Lvl 1

I hope not. That would be awkward. Oh, I might work the blade in to his backstory, if you don't mind? I might have him get it specifically made for him, if that is cool?
