*Strikes serious pose*
I'm brooding.
But no, seriously; my regional director is in town and he appearently frowns upon playing D&D in the workplace as opposed to being productive. I don't know why. So, since I'm not technically supposed to be chatting on forums while at work and I don't have reliable internet access from my home PC, I can only catch a few brief moments to post, like this one.
He should be gone in a day or so and I'll continue a bit more. Then I have my hopefully 2nd to last minor surgery on the 30th and should be out for a day or so.
There is a reason that I was upfront about not being able to keep this game going at a normal pace. :)
No worries. I understand.. well, not about the surgery, but... I don't have a 'player sense of entitlement'. Things happen at any given time.

Been a little swamped with the starting of the semester (this is my last one before graduation). Figured I'd post tomorrow morning-ish since I don't have class till the afternoons so I'd toss in a post here and my other slower running campaigns as well as work on IRL DMing stuff as I run 2 separate games currently.

| Sophone Tilfaen |
At the part of the story where Sophone is contemplating stepping out the window, she does it. And instead of falling, walks out onto the moonbeams, and freedom. Moonlight Bridge revelation. At level 1, that would assume that the outer wall of the manor (or wherever she is going to walk to) is only 10 feet from her window, if the backstory has to follow RAW. For a backstory, I'm happy to fudge it. This puts her on her own, friendless, on the streets of Westcrown at night, which plays in to her Shadow Child trait.
What do you think?
I also had some rules-type questions about how you want to do deafness. I have Bellflower Secret Sign and a chalkboard to communicate with, but what about lip-reading and speaking? The only lip-reading rule I'm aware of is for the zone of silence spell, which says it is DC 20 linguistics; that's pretty tough, and putting points in linguistics doesn't really seem to fit the character. Some GMs (as I have read on the forums) allow a Perception check instead. As for speaking, she's not actually mute, because that is a different curse. But most deaf people have a hard time sounding normal when they talk, because there's no feedback. Should that be a Bluff check?

You could always start an argument on the internet and then sit back and watch peoples' heads explode while yelling at the computer screen: "Dance, puppets! Dance!"
Usually entertains me for an hour or two.
I had intended to get a post up in the game thread this evening, but it seems everytime I start to type something out a problem arises; for example, I just got done calling the police because a woman decided that the lobby of the hotel I work at was a good place to abandon her children for a few hours in absence of child care.

Entertaining doesn't have to be synomomous with fun- just has to be distacting enough to hasten the perceived passing of time. Besides, my goal is to make the world a less serious place. Step one is getting people to argue about something inane on the internet until they realize they are arguing about something inane on the internet.
Yeah, it is a virtual army of 4 to 10 year olds; they'll be someone else's problem soon though. I may not have the parenting instinct but I can't stand abusive and/or neglectful parenting.
Ah, drawing...I lack artistic talent. And musical talent. And the coordination needed to dance without making a fool out of myself. Therefore I can usually content myself with enjoying others artistic expressions.

I used to write a lot of fanfiction too, when I was in junior high and high school. Eventually I started looking at writing seriously with the intent to publish and moved on to characters and settings of my own design. Though from there I took the wicked leap to game design and nonfiction I still like to sit down one day a month or so and just relax and spend some time writing fiction.
What system, Dizzy? If you like epic games I have an epic adventure I wrote a couple of years ago for 3.5 that has gone really well the last several times I've run it. Its on a slider from 24 to 37, perhaps when one of my current PbP ends I'll run it. 27 is really the sweet spot for it, though.

6- greater dispell magic (pesky globes of invulnerability), quickened/enlarged magic missiles
7- limited wish (huzah!), quickened/empowered magic missiles
8- quickened/maximized magic missiles
9- METEOR SWARM!!! (not good, but fun to use anyway)
10- enlarged METEOR SWARM!!!
11- empowered METEOR SWARM!!!
12- maximized METEOR SWARM!!!

I vaguely enjoyed running a flame oracle briefly, but I can't see myself playing such a class long term. It is odd because most of my characters have a decent Cha bonus and I often pull social skills with my traits; my last PF Wizard had a 14 Cha with a better Bluff and Diplomacy than the party's bard thanks to enchanting smile.
