Okay, I've been thinking, and I really hate to have to do this, but the semester is coming to a close and I don't know if I can handle running one big fight, much less two, and do well on finals. So I'm going to be putting a pause on this for a bit. I'll be back a week from Saturday. Sorry to spring this all of a sudden.

No problem, i'm kicking off my first PBP on the boards and still looking forward to rejoining this one once it gets going again :)
Funny you should say, I was so inspired playing this game I started my own PBP also. Have any space left in yours? All my current games are either on hold or have cone to a close.

Heyo, one of the games I'm in is in need of a replacement player. You'll be adventuring with a bunch of dwarves, a gnome, and a human. While a front line fighter, or a paladin, would be awesome, I think we can find a spot for you no matter what.
If dwarves aren't your thing, then maybe you'd like to join the elves? They also need some help, badly. I think their much more desperate for a front liner and wouldn't say no to some extra healing from what I've heard. the only bad news is you're going to have to put with a wily dwarf ranger with a penchant for turning people into pin-cushions no matter which side you pick. Picking elves just delays the inevitable ;).
Chainmail's the GM and the encounters have been fun, if terrifying at times. (20 to 7 odds, the 20 had access to mounts, we didn't) Expect to have to play smart and use everything you have at your disposal.
If you're interested, you can go to one of the two threads below. Tell them Brask sent you.

Lol, so far my paladin on the Elves side has been useful in the healing department. xD
6x 1d6 Hp is still nice, not as good as cure light wounds but we've managed so far and nothing seems to want to attack me. D: AC 20 = Enemy avoidance. lol

My apologies -- you caught me in the middle of an extended business trip with limited connectivity. I won't be back until this weekend -- feel free to put me on autopilot if you want to move ahead before then. Cheers!

Okay, I just realized I screwed up a bit when designing this encounter.
and by a bit I mean as in this could be a TPK even if the party does everything right. I made this a CR 7 encounter. Yes the thugs are only 15 point buys, but that's still a lot of attacks and damage being thrown your way.
So to fix I plan on not having them all try and kill you at once, plus Shael has almost put one down with that crossbow of hers. I can do something else that'd help, but it might come off as a Deus Ex Machina to most people. I can have a character come to your aid and even up the odds a bit (There's another part that is also gong to hurt and I could have just have had a couple of thugs, the one that got away yesterday, and the mystery baddie and it still be a challenge, but no, I had to make it too hard.) If you guys don't want to that's fine. I just wanted to try and fix my mistake.

Malcom Eviscerator |

I don't think you should take it easy on us. Have them all attack us at once. The words "Recklessly Brave" are smeared all over my backstory and I look forward to the challenge. If we walk away from this it will be awesome. The bonus 150%+XP from an overly difficult encounter would also be nice.
My only fear is that if we all die I don't want to have to look for a new game. A TPK doesn't scare me, an endgame does.

DM-Salsa |

Okay, let's see if the other three are as gung-ho as you two.
If they are and this does turn into a TPK, then I promise that you will die in the most awesome manner possible.

Gurni One-knuckle |

Hi folks,
I'm afraid the demands of life and work (not the least of which the current trip I'm on) find me with not enough time to devote to the playthrough. Rather than (unfairly to all of you) string things along with inconsistent posting, I'll be withdrawing from the game. Dispose of my character as you see fit! Good luck to you all, and thanks!

DM-Salsa |

Damn, sorry to see you go man. I didn't realize you're also Jakes until just now. You'll always have a spot, but I'me not sure if I'm good enough to pull off Gurni.

Shael_ |

Sorry to ee you go Gurni, but Real Life always take precedence so good luck and bless you in your endeavors bud!
I can run Gurni if you need me to, I have been in the habit of running two characters in some of my other PBP's. Mind you After the fight we can have Gurni withdraw from the gang. ;)

DM-Salsa |

Works for me.
Do you guys want to add another player or two? The other group has six or seven players (not sure about one of them) and I was planning on building the encounters around having at least five people, but it's up to you if you want a replacement or two.

Malcom Eviscerator |

If the other team has too many players I wouldn't be opposed to migrating either here or there.
How long would it take to recruit somebody? I'm anxious to get this going. It might be better to wait on recruiting if were all going to die anyways (but hopefully not). I'd say wait if it puts the game off or until the battle is finished and we know the results for the survivors.

DM-Salsa |

I'll be recruiting during the fight. After the fight Gurni will leave and the new guy/gal(s)will come in. Or if it looks like you're having a lot of trouble, then I'll have them come help you. Besides, the dice gods hate me so you'll probably have a cake-walk.

DM-Salsa |

Okay, we've got some bits. If you'll be so kind as to check out the recruitment thread and look through the two entries we have. I'll keep this open another day or two to see if we can get a few more bits.

DM-Salsa |

Well, I don't feel like trying to figure it out, and there's also the fact that I honestly don't think Psions would fit in this world.
Besides I think that someone redid Psionics so it wasn't so broken. I read through some of it once, but it was not something I really got into.

![]() |

I don't think anyone ever proved Psionics were broken, but that's beside the point. If you think they don't fit in your world, I'm fine with that.
Dreamscarred Press has done fine work with bring Psionics to the power level as Core, though, if you ever feel like taking a peek. ;)

Malcom Eviscerator |

I should introduce you to the 1 and only Psion I have ever played with. It was broken beyond all measure.
I do like the power point system though. I wish PF would incorporate it for Arcane & Divine classes rather than the current system. Level 1 spells being just as useful as level 9 spells makes things incredibly useful.
