Lilyana does her best to keep singing even as Darvesch's axe descends.
"The apples of the valley ho-OOold–"
There is a gout of fire, and a shower of holy sparks as the dwarf's axe sheers thru Ozyrankhus' stoneskin spell like it wasn't there. Immediately, Lilyana drops to the ground, motionless!

Alis Kirmoon
Alis grits her teeth momentarily, before picking up from the next measure, Ozyrankhus still airborne and now trying to swipe at Sasha as the Falcata pulls away.
"The groouund is rich, from tender ca-are,"
With a terrible, pained roar, the mage clamps down on Sasha's shoulder with his dragon's maw!
"Repay, do not forget,"
Even as Sasha screams out in pain, she draws a black arrow, drawing a bead on Ozyrankhus!
"NOOO, NOOO!"
Quickly the princess touches her foot to the unconscious girls' arm, hoping to heal her before anyone else can strike. Uncertain as to what just befell the girl, Gelik turns to do the same.
Weakly, Lilyana struggles back to her feet, looking pale and shaky.

Lureene Ourson
Lureene's heart constricts in agony when she noticed Lady Lilyana drop.
What, did Darvesch not hear me? Or is he so controlled by his bloodlust it did not matter who else perished?
She puts the matter out of her mind for now, knowing Ozyrankhus is still a threat and needed to be dealt with. Realizing the spell would not function unless the dragon-mage was close enough, she screams to the others,
"Keep him surrounded! Do not let him get to the Falcata!!
I have to try to dispel that spell, else we will not be able to damage him!
She then casts her own spell at the dragon-mage, while offering a quick prayer to Lyria.

Sasha suddenly looks at her blinking thru blood.
"shoot straigh-ter than before!"
Frowning but giving a curt nod, the huntress raises her bow and fires twice, wounding him once in each wing. With a muffled curse, Gelik catches the girl as she blacks out again.

Terrified at seeing his sister drop after Darvesch attacked and the warning that Lady Lureene gave them, he couldn't help but feel hesitant on his action, he was able to put two and two together. Even if they were children of a general, Isaac wasn't ready to lose another family member if he could help it.
"Surround him and lets keep him away from the ship!! Do not strke this foul beast!!" He called to the people near him and flew towards Ozyrankhus.

He grins, "Thanks guys. That's all I needed." Then proceeds to yell "Everyone withdraw to the ship! I'll finish this!" And points to the ship.

Malandraenas
Breathing heavily, Mal holds out his hands, hovering near Darvesch. "Ship should be out of range in a few more seconds, Hellhammer. Major Hlokenar, SIR?!"
Turning around, Mal sees that Alis, Gelik, and Priyya are all bent over the young noblewoman, but even he can tell that something's terribly wrong.
Tyralor Amthyrian
"AAH!" Tyralor gives a groan of pain, the weight of the battle and the wages of his secret oath having taken their toll upon him mentally if not physically.
Sensing the tension in the air, he quickly claps Isaac on the shoulder and finally able to speak in the tongues of mortals again says, "Quickly, my valiant ally to the galley! That girl Lady Alis attempts to rouse, who is she?"
Lureene Ourson
Lureene nods in satisfaction as the diabolic mage meets his just deserved end. Returning to the ship, she flies over and immediately looks to Lady Lilyana.
She looks to Alis and Priyya, a pleading look on her face and tears brimming in her eyes...yet unable to say what is clearly etched on her face.
Lady Lilyana...Oh NO!!
Laithoron
As the four warriors linger in mid-air for a moment, they hear a hissing, crumbling sound from below. Looking behind you, you see the black dragon's torn wings break-up and melt away in the water. The form shrinks back to that of Ozyrankhus only momentarily before even that form dissolves into a fine red mist and disappears into the wind and rain and waves.
All around you, the winds begin to lessen, and the rain begins to trail off...
Isaac Hlokenar
Isaac watches as Darvesch and his prince strike the beast into the murky depths below, his gaze turns towards the ship before everyone gather's around his sister. Eyes staring down at them, he can feel it in his heart, he has seen death before, it was never pretty. But the fact that his sister had been targeted for such an awful spell made his stomach turn.
Malandraenas words to catch his attention seem to fall upon deaf ears as he feels every fiber of his being freeze on him. The only thing pulling him from his daze is the prince once he claps him on the shoulder. "... My sister." is his only reply. He meant no disrespect towards the prince, but the thought of losing his sister so soon after losing his mother...
Landing on the ship finally, Isaac walk's towards where his sister lay and kneels down next to her, not able to say much or even look ay anyone else for the time being.
Tyralor Amthyrian
Theme: An Angel from the Sun (Lyrics)
"My friends, please! I assure you, this young woman, your sister," he puts he jostles Isaac's shoulder, "she is only resting."
In a flash of light, the prince's armor and fiery wings dissipate, and blow away on the wind. He seems to slump slight, as if their presence had exacted some toll upon him, but his countenance doesn't falter to grief.
Taking the soldier by the hand, he motions for Isaac to kneel with him by her side. Face gentle yet confident with no pretense of deception, he takes Lily's hand and places it within Isaac's cupping his hands around there.
"Please, call her name, she will answer you."
Isaac Hlokenar
Isaac tears his gaze form his sister to look at his prince, all the pain in the world hidden in his eyes as the slightly taller man tried to offer kind words, and to Isaac; false hope. "My lord..." He says to him quietly as he kneels with him. He isn't sure what the prince is up too, and doesn't believe the prince would mock him in such a way.
Taking his sisters hand as the prince puts them together, the world around him seemed to melt away. Isaac takes a deep breath as he grips his sisters hand tighter, tears finally rolling down his face as he speaks "Lilyana... it's time to wake up now... the battle is over, I'm here to keep you safe."reminding her of a promise he had made to her when she was much younger.
Tyralor Amthyrian
As Isaac speaks his hopes, Prince Tyralor bows his head and closes his eyes. Slowly, a golden radiance seems to envelop the three before you realize that the dark skies have begun to part! There is still lightning and thunder in the distance, but it is receding, seemingly protesting the reassertion of the sun's dominance.
For several moments, an uncanny quiet seems to settle over the deck of the Falcata, the sound of rowers, of crying, and of surf and storm fading into absolution.

Lilyana Hlokenar
"Uunngh..."
The sound is almost imperceptible, but you hear it again and slightly louder. With a grimace and a moan of discomfort, Lady Hlokenar's eyes flutter open, and she looks up at all of you, blinking as if she had just started into a blinding light.
"Brother?" she whispers hesitantly.
"Isaac!" Suddenly wide awake, she reaches up with her other hand to brush his face. "What's wrong? Why are you kneeling here? What... have you been crying?"
Sitting up weakly with the help of the handsome prince, she throws her thin arms around her brother's neck and hugs him tightly, stroking his sandy-colored hair. "It's alright, brother, don't worry, everything is alright..."
Isaac Hlokenar
Isaac at first thinks this is silly, not sure why he has to call out to his younger sibling till they are surrounded by a golden light. Taking a glance at the prince, he looks back down at his sister, trying to figure out what he's doing.
Though it's not long before it all unfolds and his sister whispers to him. A smile spreads across his face as more tears fall, unable to stop them at the moment. He has no words for her as she reaches up to brush tears away from his face, he takes her hand with his own and simply smiles at her.
Whatever the prince had done, he was forever thankful. Helping Lilyana sit up, he wraps his arms around her, holding her close to him, "I'm crying because I'm happy sister..." he tells her and puts his hand against her head, holding her as close as humanly possible."Everything will be alright." He places a kiss on her temple in a brotherly way and looks towards his prince.
"Thank you my lord... I am eternity grateful."
Malandraenas
"Uugh," Mal's lip curls and he spits at the sea where the mage fell, "just as long as I don't have to swim in it. Yeah, let's get back, there's still those two pirate ships to deal with..."
He looks up as the rain stops and the sun breaks thru, basking the aft of the Falcata in its glow.
The hell sort of prayer did Priyya just say?
Tyralor Amthyrian
With a friendly, yet weary smile, Tyralor nods and answers simply, "There's no need, my friend. The battle-stained deck of a slave galley is a poor place for a young maiden to rest. You have my gratitude for your assistance. It would have been inapproprite for myself, a stranger, to come upon a beautiful young woman and rouse her where she lay."
Tyralor regains his feet and sighs with contentment looking out towards his own ship now less than 1000 yards distant. He then turns his gaze to the princess before him. "Regretfully, I was perhaps too deep in a mindset fit only for battle to truly, appreciate your lovely singing, my ladies. Yet I will say, even the melody of it roused the spirit."
He offers a white handkerchief to the princess to dry her eyes. "Verily it should instill great anticipation within me if I might think to be graced again with such harmony. Perhaps... after the percussive overture of the Zephrys' cannonade has reached its finale?"
As you listen, you can hear another type of thunder resounding from the cliffs. Yet this thunder is not that born of lightning, but rather the retort of cannons, dozens of them!
Looking west, you can see flashes of light and gouts of smoke curling up from the port side of the Zephrys!
"Well done, Nim," he whispers, "well done..."
Lureene Ourson
Lureene watches the miracle performed by Prince Tyralor to restore Lady Lilyana back to life. Admittedly she was no religious expert but she was sure it would take a priestess of great power to perform such miracles, like Bishop Tredonia back in Valehaven.
Looking back over the water where the remains of the foul cabalist Ozyrankhus has vanished into the air, she takes a moment to reflect what the evil mage had said when the Prince had first appeared in the air flying towards them.
Ozyrankhus knew Prince Tyralor...I would bet my soul on that! I must find out more...
Once Isaac and Lilyana have expressed their sibling love for one another, she squeezes Alis' hand and whispers softly "I think we need to talk to Prince Tyralor for a moment....privately."
She then turns to the Prince, noting again how captivating he was, such a dashing figure he made. Focusing her mind on matters at hand though, she waves to get his attention.
"Prin...uhh...Tyralor, do you have a moment? There is something I think we need to discuss with you."
Alis Kirmoon
Alis accepts the proffered handkerchief with a slight curtsy and dabs at her eyes even if she was still rather damp from having rescued Darvesch and from the drizzling rains.
I had only heard legends of such a technique, but they were concerning saints and angels. Complex spells and expensive components are usually needed by mortal supplicants.
The princess returns the squeeze Lureene gave her hand and responds, "Perhaps the three of us should adjourn to the prow for a moment. There is a small deck there where we might speak openly."
Tyralor Amthyrian
The staccato rhythm of the cannons punctuate the battle-charged air as Tyralor turns his molten amber gaze from the pyrotechnic display issuing forth from the Zephrys toward the two women speaking. He seems somewhat preoccupied and though his countenance is outwardly warm and engaging it does not take much for both ladies to see a faint tightness about corners of his lips and a tightening of his jaw as he utters, "Very well, t'would be ill advised to keep two such formidable and fair maidens in suspense! No doubt my actions and abilities have given rise to many queries within your spirits. Shall we then?" With a smile directed at both and an inclination of his head, he offers a steadying arm with a sweeping flourish to both Alis and Lureene and makes his way to the prow.
Lureene Ourson
Lureene accepts the proffered arm gracefully and allows the Prince to guide her and the Princess to a more private spot on the ship (well somewhat private, anyway). Once the trio have arrived at the prow, Lureene is silent for a moment as she watches the sea battle raging in front of them.
Just before it seems she would not say anything until the battle ended, she speaks up softly, not looking directly at him and her voice pitched so only the three of them could hear it.
"I know not the agonies you are enduring right now, and the cause of them is not important right now. When I was conversing with Ozyrankhus, and we both observed you approaching, he commented to me he recognized who you were."
She then turns to look directly into his eyes, a look of confusion mixed with concern, "Have you had dealings with Ozyrankhus before? I ask because he also recognized who Alis and I are during our battle!"
Tyralor Amthyrian
Seeing her distress, Tyralor's eyes find her own, their gaze kind and forthright as he places his hand upon her forearm in a gesture of comfort and reassurance. His surprisingly gentle touch seems to emanate a soothing warmth upon her skin as his rich voice reaches her ears.
"Dealings? Hmmm...I suppose one might call it that."A dolorous look appears in his eyes briefly as he turns to regard the princess with intent,"Until today I had not met Ozyrankhus personally though his own arts and the machinations of the cabal to which he has pledged himself have had long lasting effects upon myself and my family. He is a member The Ruby Coil, if you are not already aware, which has long sought to destroy or corrupt the influence of the elvish monarchy. Their foul hand had already touched my family before I was ever born. That is how he knew my countenance and no doubt other sources had revealed your whereabouts somehow."
The wind tousles his brazen tresses about his face in a dance akin to flame as he continues, "They are insidious in their dealings and have emissaries, minions and messengers witting or unwitting secreted into many strategic places...not all of whom can be seen or so blatantly identified. I can only guess that they must have abducted the Hlokenar's for the purpose of bringing you out into the open."
He turns his gaze out to the dragon's watery grave his expression wary and thoughtful,"The stain of Ozyrankhus's foul touch is not so easily removed. Wisdom and experience with his sort tell me that we are not entirely finished dealing with him. He is a zealous being and will most assuredly return to finish his task... though perhaps not in the manner you have already witnessed."
Looking to the battle in the sea beyond while a fire rages within his eyes he utters, "When I looked through my spyglass from the Zephyrs, I identified him from his robes and my mother, Karayan's description of him for his face is quite vividly etched into her mind from an event that occurred before I was born."
He pauses, his brow furrowed as he turns to Alis,"I think it is best that you and I speak privately regarding the rest."
A rueful but with sincere smile appears as he adds gently, "Do forgive me, Lureene but I fear discretion must be used in this instance."

Lureene listens to the tale told by Prince Tyralor without comment, a serious look on her face. When he has finished and made his request for privacy, she nods and inclines her head while giving the dashing man a reassuring smile.
"No need to beg forgiveness from me, Tyralor. I appreciate your candor in this matter and rest assured I will not breath of this to anyone else. Now, I will leave you two to discuss matters further." She then turns to leave but just before she steps on the catwalk, she turns back to look at him. "Thank you for assisting us. You saved my life and everyone I care about. I owe you a great debt, Tyralor."
She then leaves the Prince and Princess alone on the prow, and returns to the aft castle.

Tyralor regards her with kindness and responds with a twinkle in his eyes,"No need to thank me dear lady! I would do the same for you ten thousand times over should you have the need and expect naught in return save the chance to see once more the beauty of such a gracious smile." As she turns to leave that he bows slightly in acknowledgement and returns his gaze to Alis.
Alis Kirmoon
Although neither Lureene nor Tyralor notice, Alis rolls her eyes a bit as the prince goes on about Lureene's smile.
Rath, Suny, Straehan, Sasha, possibly Gelik... Someone's going to need a bigger bed I suppose.
She notes how tall Tyralor is. Or at least a longer one...
Giving a small wave and a slight smile, Alis says, "Thank you Lureene. Can you please see if Darvesch and Mal found anything?"
Once the succubus is out of earshot, the princess comments, "I believe this marks the fourth encounter we have had with the Ruby Coil and their lackeys. First an assassination attempt in Valehaven, then an attempted kidnapping in Dunwaar. The third was a turf-war in Light's End where one of their assassins actually saved us from a rival cult, and now?" She indicates the Falcata with her hand. "Here."
"Actually, she reconsiders, "you might call it six. That officer whose sister you saved? His father is General Aurvandur Hlokenar, command of my forces in Dafar, and Isaac has been serving as the martial ruler of Port Eldarion in the absence of a governor. The woman he described as his abductor wore the same red, wasp-like cuirboilli as the last two assassins we encountered."
She nods towards Red Mountain in the distance, "And I think it fair to say that destroying the proxy of the arch-demoness the Order of the Wasp revere might count for something... In fact, I wonder if that's what led to this Ozyrankhus' appearance."
Looking westward toward the Zephrys, which had now moved out of the channel and was unloading her fresh starboard battery, Alis asked, "There was something more my lord wished to tell me in confidence, correct?"

Tyralor Amthyrian
Before the princess can begin to speak, Tyralor turns back to her, his countenance is softer now and makes no attempt to hide a tender warmth contained in his eyes. He moves closer to her speaking quietly, "My lady Alis, before any time can pass which allows for speculation to the contrary, I feel it is best to point out that my flowery words regarding your companion which were uttered to foster comradery and goodwill. I had no other intent in mind as I spoke them. I felt that I had been somewhat remiss in my dealings with her since I was consumed by our interactions and the import they carried. It was clear she quite looks up to you and the circumstances of her ancestry no doubt causes her to often feel out of place. Her choice to go against the expectations of her race and follow the path toward righteousness is not something I feel I should ignore considering my own lineage and gifts. Thus, I sought to show my regard for her with encouragement as its intent. I hope I have made my actions clearer to you now."
The Prince suddenly drops to one knee before the beautiful princess and takes her right hand to rest upon his heart while in his golden hued gaze, an urgency swirls like a tempest,"I cannot deny, Dear Lady Alis, that it is your eyes which hold the deepest grip upon my spirit now.I am surprised by the effect you seem to have upon me though we have only just met today. What I must reveal I have never spoken to anyone of before. It is a matter of great shame and horror to my mother, and I know I should be torn asunder in my very soul should any pain furrow your brow or any harm to come to you liken unto what she faced. And I fear the worst, that it is precisely what the Ruby Coil intended for you."
His luminous eyes are now wide with sorrow and a deep concern, as he continues "That which I am about to reveal one does not utter in earshot of a maiden and which leaves everlasting scars upon those who have experienced them. A member of House Amthyrian, Ozyrankhus and a few others in the Coil were complicit in her abduction and present during a very violent and horrific episode in her life that has left her but a shell of the powerful enchantress she once was."
In a strangely halting manner he continues to speak, "They performed dark... rituals...upon her..." At the last utterance, his voice trails off as he slowly intakes his breath. To the princesses keen eye he seems to steel himself as if laboring under a great force and pain to continue speaking. His voice is no more than a whisper as he intones, " Forgive...me..."
The prince pauses for a moment and closes his eyes and sweat once more breaks out upon his brow," a being of dark power violated her maidenhood...stripped her of her magical gifts...left her with child..... left her with... me. She gave much of her life essence to protect me and this power I have is a gift of God though I should have been something altogether unholy...the curse they put into my flesh is what renders me as I am now..."
His grip upon her hand intensifies and in a voice ragged yet boldly resolved he cries, "I swear by Miralnas I shall not let such a fate befall you as long as I draw breath!!"

"Well, about that..." Alis dips her chin a bit, belying frankness more so than mirth thru a faint smile, "Given my retainer's lineage, it may be best to inspire her thru words whose meaning is self-explanatory. Even if she has had to contend with a great many deceptions in her life, Lureene tends to take people at their word and she is very honest with her feelings. I would not wish to see her hurt because she mistook you intentions for your words."
"After all," there is a twinkle of teasing in her eyes, "the wings, your fire, your knack at knowing how to wake a sleeping maiden... the two of you already have so much in common. Well, a lady might naturally hope to believe such overtures."
For his part, there is nothing about what Alis says or her poise as she says it that reveals anything other than concern for a friend and a bit of teasing. Indeed the princess kept her own jealousy so well in check that he might very well have sworn on his soul that she felt no such emotion.

Alis allows her smile to reach her eyes, Tyralor's revelation is not unwelcome. She is about to compliment the prince on his skill at flattery, yet soon finds he has yet more to say.

At these words, the princess' countenance becomes more pensive, although it seem to the kneeling prince to be more concern for his own pain than herself. "What would you caution, my lord?"

She pulls back, one hand upon his shoulder, the other patting the sweat from his brow with the same handkerchief he gave to her only moments ago, now smelling of lavender. With a gentle look upon her lovely face, she continues, "...I have no doubt that Queen Karayan considers herself bless to have such a brave and noble son."
As the Falcata draws up alongside the Zephrys, shielded by the mighty vessel on the starboard side, Alis helps the tall prince back to his feet.
"It sounds like the cannon fire has ceased, and Aerys has called for a full-stop. Let's see what news your Lieutenant has for us, shall we?"

LK Calendar: Uniens 18, 4210 — Starsday (day 14)
Time: 2:30md (midday, 2:30pm)
The battle between the Zephrys and the two approaching warships had been ended before it even started. When the lead ship refused to yield and identify itself, Captain Namrath ordered a warning shot fired across her bow. When that was met with signs of ballistae and catapults being armed, they proceeded to unleash hell, destroying sails, and siege engines in the process.
The other ship, able to see that it was outmatched, turned hard to port and and fled, bearing several scars by which to remember the power of Aramol's naval superiority.
Now, nearly half-an-hour past the battle for the Falcata, Alis' two ships, the Lancer and the Harrier, had captured the Freebooter ship, Avenger, after a short but bloody boarding action.
Lureene Ourson
After checking with Mal and Darvesch to verify the foul mage Ozyrankhus did not leave any physical body behind, I wonder if there is any way to prevent such a transformation... Lureene turns her attention to the pirate prisoners onboard the Falcata. Motioning Isaac to assist her after he told her of his magical detection abilities, the two of them proceed to check the pirate corpses for any valuable items they were carrying, including those with magical auras.
Once finished with that, they will see about searching both the Captain's private cabin and also Ozyrankhus' quarters, if he had his own.
Malandraenas
Mal shakes his head as Lureene, Sasha, Gelik, Darvesch, and he search the Falcata for anything noteworthy. Beneath the forward deck, there were a number of hammocks and broken trunks from where the sailors must have taken their rest. On one side, there was a more sturdy lock-box that must have belonged to the captain which was severely dented but not yet opened, a broken key jamming the lock.
At Lureene's questions about Ozyrankhus, Mal answers, "Nope, the mage went and dissolved into a red mist just like that assassin back in Dunwaar. Only difference is, there weren't any robes or gear left behind."
Stooping over the mutilated remains of 'The Beard', the pirate captain Darvesch had defeated, the big hunter comments, "Boots, half his teeth, pants," he nods toward a slave grinning about the tricorn hat he's wearing, "his hat... Looks like they grabbed their own spoils when Priyya freed them. You notice if he had anything worthwhile, Hellhammer?"
Darvesch
Darvesch ponders a moment and says, "Now that I think of it, he had a belt buckle that I admired. He had some other things too, I can't recall all of it. A necklace, maybe? I was busy trying to kill him, so I can't recall most of it." He shrugs. "I had planned on donating his stuff to the Lightbringers, so they might be able to repurpose the items and put them to use. Or, at least they could sell it and feed and equip their troops." Darvesch looks to nobody in particular, "Where's the nearest bed? I need to lay down for a little bit." He yawns.
Lureene Ourson
Lureene thinks for a moment. "Well, while I don't mind these former slaves getting some shares of the loot, we should make sure any valuable items are given over to Princess Alis. Again, we should let her make the call here as to the reparations they deserve."
On Darvesch's reply, she nods in agreement. "I think that is a good idea, Darv." She points out the lockbox, which was still safely unopened. "Hmmm, I'll bet the Lightbringers could use whatever is in here as well, maybe the Major could help us open this box?"
Lureene Ourson
Lureene smiles in response to the exciteable ranger, "Yes, Sash I have not forgotten about those chests we recovered the other day. I imagine there is quite a bit of treasure in those chests. I think we should wait until we are underway before we open them."
I really don't think I want all of these ex-slaves getting any ideas...which reminds me...
She starts to examine all of the slaves in the slave pits looking for any magical auras. Cast Detect Magic.
