Male Sky Elf Game Master lv 20

Isaac looks towards the oncoming... whatever-it-is but is just as clueless as the Falcata's pilot as it what it could be. It looks like you'll find out soon enough though as it's on an intercept path with your ship!

"AAAH NOOO, GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FREAK!!!"

Male Human Fighter 4

Infernal:
"Be still, sniveling worm!"

Ozyrankhus' growing annoyance at the noise below is not difficult to see. Ignoring the cleric for the moment, he reaches into a pouch at his side, and removes a chunk of stone and a glittering diamond. He promptly crushes them in his hand and which point his entire body turn grey and rough like granite.

Spellcraft DC 20 (Isaac, Lureene):
Isaac, and Lureene immediately recognize the spell as Stoneskin.

"I believe that I am the one asking the questions here, woman." He levels his gaze upon Lureene, flying closer and turning over a dagger with a rough blade in his hand as he approaches. He asks pointedly, "Now then, my dear, sweet girl, WHO is your employer?"

Suddenly a great fear grips Lureene as she realizes that failure to answer the mage's question will have painful repercussions.

Spellcraft DC 18 (Isaac, Lureene, Priyya):
You realize that the mage has cast a quickened Interrogation spell.

Rolls:

Lureene affixes a glare on the mage and her tone is pure ice. "Perhaps, you would do me the same consideration as to who is your employer is as well. Such would be common courtesy. Suffice it to say, my employer is tied to me by familial bonds." as she feels the pains start to wrack her body she adds in a voice promising retribution, "I am working for my Mother!"

She draws her dagger, and looking down towards the ship mentally calls out to Grak, "Grak...Swoop and Strike!"

Rolls:
Bluff check 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34

Grak hears the command of his mistress and even as he grows in size, launches himself directly at the mage!

Rolls:

Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 plus 1d6 ⇒ 4 electical

Theme: Treachery

Isaac nearly gets bowled over as the sky splits open and a bolt of lightning strikes the deck right in front of him! There's a deafening clap of thunder, and a billow cloud of crackling black smoke from which he hears a loud hissing sound!

"Yesss Missstressss!"

Although the Major cannot see it, in the next moment, Grak bites down hard on Ozyrankhus' shoulder. Although the mage seems initially unharmed (and Grak wonders if he just shattered all his teeth), the flying serpent flashes with a jolt of electricity causing the mage to grunt in surprise from the attack!

Rolls:
sneak 1d6 ⇒ 1

Next Up: Lureene, Darvesch, Issac, Alis, Lilyana, Priyya, Brute, Pirates, Ozyrankhus
MAP: The Falcata, (Round -05b)

Dwarf Lightbringer

Darvesch puts his axe away and starts climbing up the rope provided by Alis. As he climbs past her, his rage quells for a moment as he looks at her with a sadness only she recalls.

Climb 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Once Darvesch has climbed past her, Alis allows herself an inward sigh of relief. The look her Frændi gives her does not escape her notice and she can only imagine how hard this must be on him. She herself felt more than a bit chagrined that her spell was so easily canceled.

He put his trust in my spellcasting and it let him down. Well, best not to take chances...

Allowing the magic of her own flight spell to take over, the princess flew further up to give her cousin a kiss upon the forehead, blessing him with another spell in case the tide of battle should see him sinking again. Immediately upon doing so, the dwarf could feel a bubble of air form around his head, enabling him to breathe as easily as if he were on land.

Once we're on dry land again, I know you'll be a force to be reckoned with, Darv... Hang in there.

Up above, as Isaac recovers from the shock of Grak's release, he can hear air bubbles and movement from not far behind him. Looking down, he can see Alis and Darvesch nearing the surface, perhaps only another 15-feet left to climb.

Isaac seeing the princess and the dwarf just a couple feet below the surface. Giving the area one last look around, he reached down and started to help pull up the rope to get them out of the water faster, or at least try.

Rolls:
Strength DC 16;1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

While he still has the cover of a smokescreen from whatever just happened near him, Isaac tries to haul Darvesch up and out of the water. He hastily grabs for the rope, setting one foot against the railing for leverage and goes to heave when his foot slips out from under him and he falls...

Or at least he should have fallen. In surprise, he finds that he is floating in place mid-air above the deck, the back railing pushing him along. Evidently Alis' flight spell was not merely a quick boost allowing a few moments of flight, but one with a much longer duration. As the cloud of sooty smoke flows over and past him, Isaac wonders how long he might be able to put such an ability to use before the wizard sends him falling into the sea as well.

From beneath him, he hears Lilyana shouting out, "Brother, is that you? Did the ship just get struck? What's going on up there?!"

"Ah, questioning under the threat of pain is it?" Priyya asks. For the first time since her fateful vision from Alíta, a nimbus of ghostly flames begins to flicker and dance about Priyya's form, kindled by her righteous anger.

"Very well," she says, raising her bow, a roar of golden flames suddenly wreathing her weapon, "I can play that game."

In the blink of an eye, she sends two arrows surging with holy power hurtling toward Ozyrankhus. Yet with a flick of his wrist, they smash into an invisible barrier in mid-air, not even three-feet from him, their splintered remnants deflected around him by yet another layer of protections.

Reaching for her quiver again, the seemingly old woman says, "How clumsy of me, I forgot to ask my question first."

Rolls:

Down on the foreward deck, Eleventy-Eight easily pins the terrified sailor and picks up a length of severed rope left upon the deck from when the broken mast went overboard.

Infernal:
"You would do well to be silent and still, to not increase the judgment against you, foolish one."

The helmsman takes a nervous glance over his shoulder, the cries of his fellow slavers receding as the lone sail began to catch the increasing winds. He was now the last member of the original crew who had not either been slain, hog-tied, or hurled into the sea.

Swallowing hard, he called out to Isaac, "I don't suppose you'd know if any of those folks knows the first thing about sailing, would you? I can pilot us, sure, but I can't do this alone. I don't even have a bloody lookout no more!"

"Ah, a comedienne, very good. Well then, since you seem more eager to speak openly, perhaps I shall change the parameters of this 'game' as you call it."

With a few words of power, and the exaggerated clenching of his fist, Ozyrankhus' wild hair grows with freakish speed, and animates with a mind of it's own! All too late, Lureene recognizes the spell even as the sinister mage's hair streaks forth to coil about her throat, and crush her windpipe.

Smiling smugly, he asks Lureene, anticipating that she will be unable to answer, "Now then, my dear, what other boons had you hoped to ask of my son?"

Yet Lureene's own arcane protections intervene. Instead of closing about her throat, Ozyrankhus' hair seizes only empty air, the succubus' form suddenly shifting as he attacked.

"Excellent," he exclaims, eyes lighting up, "you truly are worthy of my attention!"

Dwarf Lightbringer

Darvesch continues to climb up to the rope till he reaches the railing, and pulls himself over. Looking to the brute, to Ozy, then back to the brute, he realizes he can't act directly against the mage. He decides to do the next best thing.. Go after the brute!

Seething with anger, he points to the brute, "Do you know how many times I've almost died? Do you know how many gods I've killed? Try your luck. Come at me!"

Male Human Fighter 4

At the sound of the dwarf's shouting, Eleventy-Eight looks up to see what the commotion is all about. Looking up to his master and mistress, he poses a question.

Infernal:
"Does the short, one seek to converse?"

Ozyrankhus laughs so loudly he nearly doubles himself over.

Infernal:
"Yes, my son, as a matter of fact, he wishes to duel you, no doubt over the honor of this beauty you have grown so fond of!"

Lureene glances over her shoulder and sees Darvesch brandishing his weapon at the Brute. She thinks, By the Nine Hells, has he lost his mind...what is he doing?

"Darvesch, are you out of your freaking mind?"

Male Human Fighter 4

"Hmm..."

Infernal:
"Very well, if it pleases my mistress I shall fight for her gratification. Inform the short one that I accept his challenge."

Sense Motive DC 15 (Darv, Isaac, Priyya):
You notice that the Brute doesn't seem to respond to Darvesch so much as it does Ozyrankhus. In fact, you are wondering if he even understood a word the dwarf shouted.

Rolls:

When Lureene exclaims instead of answering the question the mage posed, she feels a wrenching pain within her core as she neglects to heed the spell that he had cast upon her.

Wiping tears from his eyes with stony fingers, the mage says, "My son agrees to challenge you to a duel, Sir Dwarf. Indeed his appetite for destruction was whet by your earlier bout!"

Sense Motive DC 10 (Darv, Isaac, Priyya):

Frowning deeply at whatever is going on, 'Sarah' raises an eyebrow and comments, "I somehow doubt the veracity of our mage's translation..."

Darvesch:
While Ozyrankhus' son appears to be an exceptionally large human, you suspect that is probably incorrect. His size alone might suggest a half-ogre, yet you have never known one of those hulks to be free of physical deformity or to be so even in their temperament. The fact that even your darkvision cannot penetrate the inky blackness within its helm further arouses your suspicion that The Brute is not wholly natural. In fact, you are certain this is no mere humanoid.

There is a splash as Alis flies out of the water and lands on the deck near Darvesch and Isaac. Up above, she can see Lureene and Grak flanking the red-robed mage whose hair has seemingly come alive. She also notes that the huge man in the giant, horned helm has pinned one of the slavers to the forward deck, a coil of rope in his thick hands.

Up above, Priyya's entirety is enveloped in the flickering light of her holy aura, bow at the ready to fire upon the enemy once more. She had expected to find and out-and-out struggle, but instead finds what appears to be a tense stand-off.

"What is going on, and what–"

She takes her eyes off the mage for a moment to squint at the fiery form that has now closed nearly half the distance between the Zephrys and the Falcata.

Prince Tyralor?

"Is that who I think it is?"

The princess and the major remain on edge, waiting to react until they can properly gauge the situation. It is then that Alis notes that one of the slaves is busy freeing all of the others with a steel key on a ring of keys. From up in the crow's nest, Priyya draws a bead on Ozyrankhus, ready to fire upon him should he begin casting any more spells.

As everyone looks on, the Brute releases the frantic slaver he had pinned and drops the rope upon him.

Infernal:
"Bind and gag yourself, fool."

He then begins walking towards the aft of the ship with a swift yet even gait that causes the catwalk to creak and groan beneath his weight. He stops a few feet shy of where Darvesch is standing, both hands on his massive cudgel, as if waiting to see if the dwarf will allow him to take up a position from which to fight, of if he intends to launch an attack against him.

Once he has gone, the lone slaver, gives a whimper and scurries off the forehead to hide somewhere in the half-smashed tent at the prow of the ship.

Next Up: Darvesch, Brute, Lureene, Issac, Alis (standard only), [Priyya], Lilyana, Pirates, Ozyrankhus [readied action]
MAP: The Falcata, (Round -04c)

Lureene wonders what sort of madness has possessed the dwarf this time.

Does he have a death wish?

She wonders whether staying near Ozyrankhus would serve any purpose now. Knowing her dagger would easily cut through his magical stoneskin, she resisted the temptation to demonstrate that to him. Instead, she drops below the mage and half-flies, half-glides to the aft castle, landing in between Alis and the Major.

I am not sure getting close to Eleventy-Eight is a good idea...but it is safer than being next to Ozyrankhus!

Full Withdrawal to D48.

Grak gives the mage a warning hiss as he disengages from the mage, flying above his mistress and watching the Brute closely.

Full Withdrawal to C48, elevation 5' above the aft castle.

"Curious," the mage says, "from a tactical standpoint, that is. You do realize that you have not only isolated the old woman, but you have placed yourselves in the ideal configuration for any number of area-based spells, do you not?"

With a muttered oath, Priyya opens fire, her shot bypassing the Ozyrankhus' protections to strike him in the shoulder!

Alis tenses, seeing before her ghostly spirits attempting to fuse her own life-force to that of the evil spellcaster floating above. Gritting her teeth, she locks gazes with Ozyrankhus, blue-violet eyes burning back at him like the hottest part of a flame.

My soul is my own, you will not have me!

With a concerted effort, the princess overcomes the foul necromantic rite — both she and your enemy left breathing hard.

Pale eyes narrowing at this insignificant woman who has dared to defy him, Ozyrankhus poses a third question to Lureene, his eyes intent upon Alis, "My dear girl, who is this sub-elven woman that stands dripping at your side? Her NAME."

"GO F&+$ YOURSELF!"

She turns to Darvesch and hisses in pain as the spell takes a hold of her, "Darvesch, need I REMIND you of the true threat here!"

She then utters a command to the Brute in the infernal tongue,

Infernal:
"If the dwarf strikes at you, DISARM him!"

Rolls:

The hulking brute nods, his voice a deep rumble within the inky confines of his great helm.

Infernal:
"A sound strategy, mistress, I shall heed your guidance."

Eyes never leaving the mage, thru tight-pressed lips Alis asks, "You can understand what it says? What is it planning?"

"I instructed him to disarm Darvesch, should he continue with this duel!" The tone in Lureene's voice left little doubt of what she thought of Darvesch's plan.

Alis' forehead wrinkles with consternation at Lureene's disclosure. Is she trying to help, or to get him killed?

Matching Lureene's whisper, she asks, "You charmed him? Does he know to stop fighting if he disarms Darv? He doesn't exactly seem like the merciful type..."

Lilyana wrote:
"Brother, is that you? Did the ship just get struck? What's going on up there?!"

"Everything's under control sister, just stay calm and hang on alright?" He said, feeling she was happier not knowing what was going on deck.

Seeing how the Dwarf yet again challenge another being to a one on one duel, Isaac wasn't sure that he would be able to take this thing by himself. The creature was big, and it honestly didn't seem like the best idea.

Looking at the two blonds who were standing near him, he couldn't help but frown since he didn't know infernal and had no idea what the brute was saying. "It's cute that you think these guys will play fair." he whispered towards Lureene, agreeing with Alis at her own assumptions.

sorry I take forever to reply, I'm not use to things going this fast XD

Lureene considers what the mage told her and realizes she nearly made a fatal mistake. Allowing him to spread falsehoods about the intentions of Darvesch was not something she could allow to stand.

She leans over and whispers into Darvesch's ear, "Darv, I just realized he thinks he is fighting for MY honor! He may not stop until you are killed! I urge you to reconsider this!" As Isaac responds to this development, she sighs "Major, I wish that were the case, but that mage is certainly up to no good! Be ready in case that brute turns against us!"

Isaac couldn't help but be completely amused that Lady Lureene wasn't able to pick up on the sarcasm that coated his comment and just shook his head. "Obviously." He said with a smile on his face, shaking his head, he knew that this was suppose to be serious, but honestly that just tickled his sides a little bit.

"we could make this a two against one, he's big enough to take on Darvesch and myself, surely that'd be fair play? Don't you think?" He asked, since Lureene was in control of this thing, surely she could convince it that it would be a fair challenge.

Lureene turns a smokey gaze on the Major and leans in to whisper in his ear, "Not unless you wish to also challenge Darvie for my honor! This is currently a one-on-one duel!" He cannot help but notice the perfume smells that linger over her body.

Dwarf Lightbringer

Darvesch looks to Alis and speaks to her, and Isaac, in her native tongue, perhaps for the first time in years as he readies his axe.

Elven:

"Listen, Alis. I know it seems I'm being rash, but please, trust me. I have a plan. I need you two to help me. If you two can help me flank him, I think we can take him down together!"

Even those unfamiliar with elven can hear his Dwarven accent, creating harsh tones, and unnecessarily rolling 'R's. He turns to 'Sarah' and tells her, almost sounding a bit motivational, "Sarah! Back me up! We work as a team!"

He flashes Lureene an inquisitive look, "Who said this was a duel?"

He then turns his focus on the brute "Just what are you.." and attempts to detect any trace of an evil aura that might help him figure out what this guy actually is. Detect Evil

Rolls/GM:

Perception 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 15 + 2 = 26 Good Hope (is effing amazing)

While Darvesch glares at the towering brute, trying to determine what manner of creature he is, Alis puts a hand to her forehead seemingly in agitation.

If we all gang up on it, we'll leave ourselves wide open to the mage, and this thing will know that Lureene has tricked it. The mage doesn't care either way, he's waiting for something, but what? Well, time to see if we can act our way out of this dilemma...

Alis shakes her head seemingly in disappointment before interposing herself between Isaac and Lureene. Putting an hand on Lureene's cheek, eyes full of sadness, she pulls her into comforting hug.

Then, in a voice enough so that only those nearby can hear, she whispers, "Theatrics, everyone, make it look convincing!"

Her head snaps up and she glares at Isaac, protecting moving Lureene out of the way. Glaring at both the warriors, lower lip trembling, she begins screaming at the warriors, hands in the air, tears rolling down her cheeks! "I can't believe that we mean so little to you that you would do a thing like this! You're just going to leave us alone with that flying madman?!"

She slaps Isaac across the face hard, yet curiously he feels some of the injuries he had already stained subside. Meanwhile, waiting like some statue of god of battle made flesh, Eleventy-Eight watches and waits...

Darvesch:
While the princess buys you time with her gambit, you are able to observe a few things about Eleventy-Eight. First, he is in fact evil — little surprise there. However what stand out is that the strength of his aura is nearly non-existent. He radiates no more powerful of an aura than one of the human slavers!

Given his combat prowess, you quickly realize that there is no way he could be an outsider. A devil or demon of similar size and capability would have a rather strong, perhaps even overpowering aura — it's not ever powerful enough for him to be an undead creation.

Was he a construct? Perhaps an aberration? Maybe some twisted corruption of a fey?

Sense Motive DC 27 (Darv, Isaac, Lureene, Priyya):
You realize that Alis is trying to create the illusion that whatever you are about to do clearly doesn't involve herself or Lureene. In fact, it seems pretty clear that she means for herself and Lureene to keep the mage occupied... somehow.

She also feels really badly about the throbbing hand-print she just left on Isaac's face, but is fully expecting him to strike her in turn.

Isaac is about to respond to Lureene, when Alis get closer to her and hugs her. Did she just instruct them to- WACK. He was honestly shocked that she would reach up and slap him like that. Noting that even though it hurt, his injuries from before seemed to heal up a bit.

Staring at her for a moment as her words sank in, he gave her a rather dark grin as he placed his hand over the throbbing hand print that Alis had been so kind to give him. "How dare you hit me, wench!" He shouted back at her, his voice loud, deep and powerful, as a Major should have. Raising his hand to her, and back handed her. Inside he was worried that he could have hit her too hard. He didn't like to hit women, and his princess was not someone he wanted to strike, but if he had too to play along, he would. Gods forgive me..

"We can't be bothered with constantly protecting the both of you!" He told her, taking a step away form her, keeping his stern look on his face as he drew his substitute sword again.

Rolls:
Bluff 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 5 = 22AA

Alis reels from the backhand she takes to the cheek and falls to the deck sobbing as Isaac and Darvesch prepare to square off against the real brute.

Damn that hurt, but well-played Major, well-played...

Rolls:
Bluff Checks
A 1d20 + 23 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 23 + 2 = 28 GH

Theatrics? Well I am not sure what 'Lis is up to here but I will play along here...I just hope Ozyrankhus buys this as well...

Lureene stares at the Major with a look of shock and outrage on her pretty face. She moves next to the half elf warrior, heedless of the Brute's reaction to her presence and reciprocates the blow on Isaac, this time on his other cheek!

"How DARE you strike her like that?!! She is no WENCH and neither am I!!"

Blinking back tears of her own, she then steps over to Alis and gently helps her to her feet.

Rolls:
Bluff 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 18 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 32 seductive, GH, Alertness

Male Human Fighter 4

Even as the tiny winged woman tries to help her taller friend back to her feet, the elven woman falls once more to the deck, propping herself up on her elbows, hair fallen about her face and shoulders.

With a thunderous strike of his cudgel on the deck, The Brute points two finger on one hand at the dwarven and elven warriors, before turning his palm up and curling his fingers twice.

Infernal:
"Disgusting. I shall break you both."

Even though no one but Lureene can understand Eleventy-Eight's words, his meaning is clear — he means to take on both Darvesch and Isaac at once.

Dwarf Lightbringer

"Only a faint aura of evil? I could have swore this thing was.. Can't be a golem.. or undead.. He's no man, I know that much. I'm going in blind on this one.. I hope this is the right one.." Darvesch musters a bit of energy directed against Aberrations as he snorts in derision to Alis and Lureene, seemingly ignoring them.

"I have no idea what you said, you monster, but you're not leaving this ship alive!" He says to eleventy-eight, and nods to Isaac, as he moves around to the brute's side. G.47 Darvesch then waits for his opportunity to strike.

GM:

Darvesch will ready his attack, and strike when Isaac is in flanking position.

Power Attack 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 12 + 2 + 4 = 19 effing amazing hope spell, outflank

Bane:Aberration 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8

Note: Darvesch's attack also will gain +2 on his initial attack roll if the Bane:Aberration is the correct type.

Yep, saw that coming.. he thought to himself when Lureene stepped up to take her shot at him. Giving Lureene a glare, but saying nothing to her, he had new matters at hand.

Watching Darvesch ran forward, Isaac, still taking use of his fly spell, he jumped into the air and took his place beside G.49 the giant creature, raising his own weapon to strike it in the back.

Raising his cutlass, he brought it down to the beast.

Rolls:

Power attack 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 14 - 2 + 4 = 31 Outflank

Sneak attack 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 2) = 11

"Darvesch! You have an opening!" Isaac says after landing a rather powerful blow on the creature.

Male Human Fighter 4

Darvesch and Isaac move in unison, the dwarf rushing forward even as the elf flies around behind the helmsman. Seeing an opportunity to put his mistress' suggested strategy to good use, Eleventy-Eight swings for the head of Darvesch's axe, attempting to bat it out of his hands.

Realizing what the brute is up to, Darvesch foregoes power in an attempt to counter the blow and save himself from being disarmed yet again. He thrusts forward with the wicked spike atop Grimnon's weapon catching the brute in the side even as Isaac delivers a powerful slash across the back!

The dwarf's effort is just enough to ward off the underhanded maneuver, but so focused was he on keeping his weapon that he nearly forgets that he's run out of deck! In an amazing feat of agility, he somehow manages to keep from spilling over the edge of the poop deck and into the slave pit.

Grunting from the wound it just received, Eleventy-Eight ROARS in rage and wheels upon the elf. Isaac just barely evades the first stike, the wind rushing off of it blowing his hair back, in anger the brute continues with the motion attempting to strike Darvesch, but he misses badly, smashing the deck instead and he moves past the dwarf to the edge of the catwalk.

From the crow's next, Priyya draws another bead on Ozyrankhus ready to put another arrow in him should he attempt to cast any spells.
