Isaac was doing his best not to out fly her, that would defeat the point of protecting her if he left her behind. Hearing her call his name to his attention, he turned and looked at her as she spoke.

A light hearted smile spread across his face as she apologized and shook his head, "Please my Lady, I'm flattered that someone as beautiful as you wishes to flirt with me. Besides, I don't mind the teasing, I had been picking on you earlier in case you don't recall, though I do believe it might have gone over your head." He said, assuring her that it was all in fair play and he took no offense to her words.

Lureene's eyes widen and she gets a thoughtful look on her face, even as she clutches her precious staff close to her body.

My, my, he IS a gentleman! I need to be sure to thank him later for his gallantry!

"Major, you are too kind with your praise of me. As for your teasing of me, think nothing of it. Trust me when I say 'Lis is an expert at the art of playful teasing!"

"Aah-choo!" Alis blinks and sniffles a bit from an unexpected sneeze. "Goodness, where did that come from?"

"Than, I believe all is fair." A soft smirk spread across his face as he quirked an eyebrow at her, "Let the games begin."It had been a while since he had done anything like this, being the Marshall law of a city didn't normally open up many opportunities for games, and a teasing contest to see who could make the other blush more with being subtle sounded like a lot of fun.

Lureene's eyes widen and her cheeks get a pleasant blush as the Major responds to her.

I wonder what he means by THAT? Hmmm...I suspect THAT is part of the game...I think this will be LOTS of fun...and I know Sash would love this game...hmmm, maybe not. She is not very patient for these games...

"Well, Major. It seems like we are in a contest now." She gives him a look mixed with amusement and tinged with excitement (or was it ardor?). "And...Major...what does the winner receive from the loser?"

Dwarf Lightbringer

"Thank you, Princess." Darvesch says with a small smile. He turns to look at Darrin, "I'll make sure you are properly fed, and let out a couple times each day to stretch and exercise. You'll be released to my custody when we arrive at our destination. Understood?"

The young man breathes a sigh of relief that it's the dwarf and not the princess deciding his fate. At the dwarf's question, he nods emphatically, "Uh-huh, and uh... thanks for not gutting me, mister dwarf, sir. Oh and the name's Derrin, just Derrin."

With that, he hurriedly climbs down into the cell waiting for him, obviously eager to put some space in between himself and damn near everyone else on board.

Dwarf Lightbringer

Darvesch chuckles once, "Don't be hasty in thanking me just yet. This'll be your only break you yet till you serve your real sentence." He pauses, "Though, it's better than the alternative."

Lilyana frowns as Derrin climbs down into what was so recently her cell. She quickly steps out of the way to ensure that he doesn't get any worthwhile glimpses at her thru her tattered nightgown. (Not to mention she doesn't seem to care for the way Sasha is biting her finger and cocking her head while looking at her.)

Once Darvesch has lowered the trap door back into position, she curtsies to Alis and him. "I thank you for freeing me from that cramped enclosure. It is probably a trifling concern but..."

Blushing she leans forward and whispers something in the princess' ear.

"Aww, don't worry about it sweetie," Sasha says waving a hand, "lots of men like the distressed damsel look. I think it's cute! Besides, when silk gets all wet and clingly like that?"

The huntress raises both eyebrows, biting her lip, and nudges Gelik with her knee. "Am I right Gel? She looks like a little nymph or something, doesn't she?"

When Gelik and Mal both turn their heads at Sasha's commentary, the young noblewoman frets. She crosses her knees, trying to pull down the hem of her gown while covering her bust with her other hand.

"Where's my brother?!" she asks with more than a hint of distress in her tone.

Alis turns and gives Mal a pointed look, breaking his stare with a tap of her foot.

"Oh, right."

The big man quickly shucks his long, patchwork leather vest and hands it to Alis.

Considering Lilyana is only as tall as Alis, the massive leather garment fits her like a tent. It takes a bit of pleating beneath the armholes and an improvised rope belt to give it some semblance of shape and to keep from falling off the girl's slender shoulders.

"There we go. It's hardly fashionable, but at least it's a bit more discrete. Now then what is keeping Isaac and Lureene so long?"

"Oh, brother is with Lady Lureene? I should thank her for..."

The girl's voice trails off as she sees Isaac slowly flying back towards the ship in the company of a golden-winged succubus and a flying white snake, laughing and joking. "I... ah... Isaac?!"

Giving a sigh that doesn't even attempt to conceal how much she doesn't care about all of the interpersonal drama taking place around her, Aerys clears her throat and wags a finger towards the front of the ship. "Beggin' your pardon, Miss Alis, but it's lookin' like we've got company."

Turning, all of you look up just in time to see Prince Tyralor arrive, gleaming like the sun, steam radiating from his fiery wings and armor. In one hand, he holds a glossy black bastard sword, gold hilt inset with rubies. Hovering just to the port and a safe distance from the sails, he has all the bearing of some Heaven-sent angelic-protector.

In a loud, clear voice, he calls out, "Friends, I would implore you to vigilance! I have witnessed your battle and raced hence to warn you that your foe is known to me! Ozyrankhus he is called, a powerful thaumaturge in league with the Ruby Coil! You may have earn a momentary reprieve but please, I caution you, one of his power cannot be so easily vanqu–"

With an urgent thrust of his sword, he points astern and shouts, "LOOK THERE!"

Theme: Finish It! (Then We All Can Go Home)

Turning about, you see a spot in the sea over 50-yards behind you grow dark before erupting in terrible plume of red froth. The blast of a explosion buffets you a moment later, drowning out even the thunder as bits and chunks of bone, metal, and gore rain down.

Yet that is not the worst of it, a moment later, a sleek, black shape jets into the air on leathery wings, glowing white eyes fixed upon your receding vessel. An eerily familiar chuckle booms from the toothy maw of the black dragon bearing, leaving no doubt as to its identity!

"HOLY CRAP IN A CRADLE!" Sasha shouts, jumping up in excitement. "We get to fight a fvcking dragon?! This is GREAT!"

Eagerly, she flexes her bow and asks, "Say, is it holding the head of a minotaur in its claws or something?"

"Well, so much for a nice leisurely monsoon," Gelik comments. Looking at the windblown girl standing next to Alis, he waves his hand for her to follow and says, "Probably a wise idea for us to leave this to the heroes, wouldn't you say? Best not to get underfoot and all that."

With that, he hands Darvesch a glass vial from his pocket. "I have the feeling that if I end up needing this it will already be too late."

Giving Sasha a pat on the back, he calls out, "Happy hunting!" before hurrying away towards the prow, Lilyana momentarily torn between practicality and concern for her brother.

Item: Gelik gives Darv a potion of Cure Serious Wounds

Dwarf Lightbringer

"By Kahn's beard!!" Darvesch exclaims at the sight of the draconic form bursting from the sea. "Thanks, Gelik. See to it that these people get free of their bindings and stay back." Motioning to the slaves, he puts the potion in his belt pouch and begins to pray "Kahn, in this trial, I have encountered a restless foe. Grant me your favour so that I may quash this evil." Cast divine favour. "Any who wish to join me in destroying this monster, feel free to help me flank him." Darvesch says with grim determination.

"Tsk, tsk," 'Sarah' clucks her tongue landing on the deck near the rest of you. She immediately channels another burst of Alíta's healing light.

Prince Tyralor attempts to speak words of encouragement to the rest of you, but when it soon becomes apparent that only Alis and the old woman in Priyya's clothes can comprehend him, he nods knowingly. The same gift that blessed him with divine power also rendered him incapable of communicating with those whose minds and souls were not similarly versed in the tongues of the holy ones.

Prayer then. Who better to ask for the intercession of the divine than one who bore the seal of the very king of the Valar over his heart, who spoke in the tongue of his angelic servants?

With both hands, the Prince of House Amthyrian raised his might blade, Atharos to the sky and intoned a prayer to favor these noble and courageous souls in the coming battle. For a moment, a break formed in a thunderheads above, silvery radience shining down thru the falling rain, illuminating the prince and his newfound allies.

As the breach closed, the fiery-winged knight, glowing like the sun himself, took up a position behind the damaged galley. He would not allow his mortal foe to pass him by and bring harm to the others without paying a dear cost.

Prayer: +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks. r 15

On wings black as the void, Ozyrankhus surges forward, coming straight at Tyralor. Yet rather than pouncing upon him in mid-air, he rears back his head and expels a vile, burning stream of acid straight at the prince, angling it just right to strike at the very woman he is trying to protect, and her dutiful honor-cousin!

It is only by the grace of Miralnas, invoked by the prince, that spares Alis from the ravages of the cabalist's hatred. Tyralor and Darvesch, however are not so fortunate, the entirety of their beings awash in burning, stinging green bile! The deck of the ship smokes and steams, the wooden planking beneath rotting and tumbling away to the lower deck. Only the flight spell upon Darvesch keeps him from falling.

Beneath you, you can hear Derrin give a cry as he presses himself against the back wall of his cell.

In a booming voice, Ozyrankhus laughs and calls out, "FOOLS! Your association with House Kirmoon and that mewling PET of Lyria you call a princess shall be your end! Forswear your allegiance, bend knee to great and terrible Mephistopheles, and you shall live to serve him."

Aerys grits her teeth, doing her best to keep the ship headed down the channel inspite of the erratic winds. "THEM LADS NEED TO STOP GAWKIN' AND GET ROWIN'! THIS AIN'T A DAMN YACHT!"

Although it seemed to Isaac that Lureene was predominantly preoccupied with teasing and flirting, little did he realize that it was Ozyrankhus' staff (rather than his own), which held her greatest interest. By the time the powerful mage had emerged in his new form, she had already deduced its capabilities!

It was time to turn the tables...

Alis nods and casts one of her few remaining spells upon Mal imbuing him with the ability to fly. Once she has done so, he says, "Great, now listen to Gelik and leave the fighting to us. That toothpick rapier won't going to cut it."

Turning to look at the other men, the big marine calls out, "Major, did you have a plan of attack?"

As the men plan their assault, Lilyana sets her jaw and shakes her head.

My father is a general dammit, even if I can't fight I can still help in other ways...

Sylvan:
"Your highness," she calls out, "I will encourage the Zucks to row for safety, but Lyria's inspiration would serve everyone well in this battle, would it not? You and I... our training is similar, is it not?"

Isaac knew he had a bad feeling about Ozyrankhus, he had just hoped... Oh well, now they had to deal with this thing. Quickly pulling a plan together in his head, he watched as the dwarf took to the sky again and looked towards the beast of a man who called out to him.

"You're with me Lieutenant. Darvesch, my lord Tyralor, stick together, we're going to surround this thing and give it no way out." He called out to his teammates, and looked to Lureene who was still next to him.

"I believe you know what to do my Lady." He said nodding towards her and again glanced back towards the ship to see his sister and shouted "Lily! Find my Sword and Mask!" He couldn't hear what his sister was planning with Alis, but figured she could do something for him while he was busy dealing with this monster.

Behind the young noblewoman, Gelik pauses. In front of him, one of the Zucks who had jumped and climbed onto the catwalk was standing stricken with fear at the sight of the dragon. In his hands, he held what Isaac recognizes as a familiar-looking helm and sword... the man must have recognized the Major!

Most of the others who were freed from their shackles were either looting corpses, unlocking their countrymen, or lamenting their slain brethren.

Well this is a tall order now, isn't it?

He sighed.

I suppose it wouldn't look too heroic to my golden angel if you went ahead with my original plan now would it, Aberwhinge?

Putting two fingers in his mouth, the tiny scholar gave an exceptionally loud whistle demanding the attention of everyone around him. Speaking Zuck with the perfect dictation of a school teacher, he began to clap his hands and call for order.

Zuck:
"Everyone, EVERYONE! There will be time for celebration and spoils in short order. And believe me I know about short order! For now, there is an enemy in pursuit and our brave heroes need us to put some distance between us and the enemy. They can't fight at full strength if they have to worry over defending all of us!"

"So I know it's been a long day, but put your backs into it and ROW! Not for some cruel task master, but as men who want to live to be FREE again! It's not much further until we draw near another ship with reinforcements. One last time... for FREEDOM!"

From below, there comes a rousing howl of pride and desperation. The tall, man standing before Gelik, though he looks nervous, hands the masked helm and sabre to Gelik before swinging back below and taking up position on one of the benches, others following suit. With that, Gelik breathes a sigh in relief and turns around, ducking between Alis and Lilyana and rushing back up to the back rail of the deck.

"You there, tall, blonde, and shiny, looking for these?"

She calls her by the name humans use but...

Alis smiles warmly at her young acquaintance.

Sylvan:
"I suspected our training might be similar. Well met, my sister."

A shout from Isaac causes her to look up, but not a moment later there is a loud cheer from the behind her and Gelik comes ducking thru their conversation sword and helm in hand.

Sylvan:
"I'd say you're already inspiring those around you! Let's do our part then, shall we?"

From an extradimensional space in her tiny backpack, the princess slips free a lovingly carved darkwood mandolin.

Rolls:
"Lady Hlokenar, are you familiar with The Battle of Evermore?"

Theme: Take Heart! The Battle of Evermore

As the princess beside her began to pick a familiar tune on her instrument, Lilyana nodded enthusiastically and cast a spell to help amplify the sound of their performance.

Lureene glances behind her and notices Gelik...Gel? I thought he was hiding? Oh my... waving the Major's sword and mask. She glances back to Grak who wastes no time to follow his mistress' instructions.

He spins around and flies directly at Gelik and once he arrives in front of the plucky gnome hisses, "Give me thosssse."

Fly to H50 and pick up the Major's items.

With a grin of excitement at the women's conversation, the gnome holds them up to Lureene's faithful familiar, and cheers him on, "Go Grak, go!"

"This issss very brave of you, Gelik. I will let my misssstressss know of thissss." Grak hisses as he picks up the items and returns to right behind the Major.

Fly to F56, completing move action.

Lureene thinks, ...my little Knight really is showing me something, I am impressed. I am glad to see Isaac fully equipped now. Plus I have this staff...

She nods in acknowledgement to the Major's plan, and allows the main melee fighters move forward to engage the newly draconc-formed mage. I wonder whether he warded himself against electricity...I guess now would be a good time to find out...

She flies backwards towards the Falcata angling for a clear shot at Ozyrankhus. A magical spell flies from her lips, followed by a streak of lightning!

Even as the concussive boom echoes over the water, her voiuce rings out, bolstered by the music emanating from the aft deck.

"Ozyrankhus, I will NEVER whore myself out to that Betrayer Mephisto! Selling your freedom, nay your very soul for such a worthless bargain is not worth the blood you so foolishly spilled to enter that diabolic contract!"

With heart full of passion, Lureene looses a lightning bolt at the mage turned dragon. With a contortion of his long, sinewy body, he avoids the brunt of it, but where it still contacts him instead of crackling electrical damage, the spell vanishes into motes of magical energy and disperses harmlessly.

"GIVE HIM HELL, EL! Oooh, good rhyme! HEY! Did you see that? It didn't work but he still tried to get out of the way!"

"Indeed!" Gelik pipes up, face flushed with excitement at what Grak said, "That was a display of spell resistance, not energy resistance. I'd wager that staff he dropped might punch thru!"

"Hmm, wonder how I'll do."

Sasha raises her bow and lets fly two acidic arrows at the dragon. Unfortunately, both are deflected away from it by Ozyrankhus' protections.

"Hmmph..."

"Dear foolish girl," Ozyrankhus chuckles at Lureene's distress as the Falcata begins to accelerate under oar, "it wasn't my blood I spilled I assure you. As for my soul? I consider THAT an investment! Now then, do stay back, I wouldn't want to damage you as I render the others to dust. After all, I need you so I can father Eleventy-Nine!"

Dwarf Lightbringer

Move to E.55

Darvesch flies forward, speaking his prayer aloud as he gets closer to the dragon-thing "Kahn, let my axe be an instrument for your burning fury."

Cast flames of the faithful

Moving in unison, Mal, Priyya, and Darvesch fly forth from the Falcata the sound of Alis' lute-playing being amplified by Lilyana's magic. With each pick of the strings, you feel anticipation and determination well up within you, the importance of your stand holding you firm rather than bearing you down.

With Darvesch moving in a straight line, Malandraenas sweeps to the left, leaving Isaac and Tyralor further to the right. No matter who should get attacked first, the others should be able to close in.

Not to be left behind, Priyya flies into your midst and channels more healing power to salve your wounds before you engage the enemy. Looking back over her shoulder at the two aristocrats, she smiles to herself.

It only took a few thousand miles, but is she finally starting to trust our abilities?

"Remember, my hearing isn't what it used to be," 'Sarah' quips before dispelling her disguise, "shout if you need me!"

"The queen of li-light
took her bow,
and then she turned to gooo...
"

At the first words of Lilyana and Alissariel's song, Major Hlokenar gave the signal to his team to move in and outflank the enemy:

Two men at north, two men at south, Priyya sniping. Without delay, the young officer rushed forward, swooping around the dragon-mage to get into position.

"The prince of peace
embraced the gloom,
and walked the niiight alooone...
"

Though he could not understand what the young girl was singing, her brother's tactics and signals were clear. With a shout, Prince Tyralor flew after the other man, swooping in from above, timing his attack for when the others would be in position.

"Oooh, dance in the daaark of ni-iiight,

With a roar, Mal rushed forward, claws bared to strike!

"Sing to the mooor-ning liiight!"

"AAAAUUUUGH!!!" Sparks and flames burst forth from the dragon's breast, a deafing cry of pain resounding across the channel!

"OOOOHHH, throw down your plooow and hoooe,"

Shocked and awed by the unexpected power of his opposition, desperation seizes the Ozyrankhus and he attempts one final spell. In his claw, he crushes Eleventy-Eight's helm and a fine red dust falls out, sparkling on the wind.

"Rest not to lock your homes..."

Lureene, realizing what has happened, calls out to Darvesch who is ready to strike the dragon-mage,

"Darvesch, NOO! DO NOT strike to kill!"

"I hear the horses' thun-der dooown in the valley belooow,"

Even as Ozyrankhus flies straight at the Falcata, even as Lilyana's voice falters, and Lureene despairs,, Alis steels herself singing all the more powerfully.

"I'm waaiiting for the an-gels of Av-a-lon, waiting for the east-ern glooow."

Jason:
I see the following potential attack bonus modifiers for your AoO (if you take it):

-4 nonlethal
+2 Good Hope
+1 Prayer
+2 inspire courage
-2 power attack
+4 outflank (with Priyya)
+2 bane

Not sure which judgment you have active right now so Justice might add another +2 if that's what's up.
