If it makes you feel any better, I think I can safely share this part. I think it's what was being referred to.
At that, the "Black" put one arm over the shoulder of the "Fire," and gave her a companionable and empathetic hug as they walked, trailing the band that they had together recruited for the purpose of helping to find and free Ahmed. Half of the job was done. If they were lucky, blessed, or just very, very good, maybe one of them would survive the second half.

Koshukhep |

I'd better re-update Koshu's money when I find the time.
I've got some RL stuff to deal with over the next few days, so I may not post, or at least not frequently. Feel free to move my character.

Map and new post coming tonight. Would have done it yesterday but I had some weird technical issue where I couldn't access my pre-written post.

Izra Kayal |

Just a question, *NOT* a critique of playing choices:
I used to have this argument with my table-top players at least once a month - but can Suri move AND make two attacks? I know that technically she's a creature, not a PC, and they're a little different, but I don't see her having the Multiattack Feat, so wouldn't she have to go Full Attack to use both claws?
I used to argue "hey, two-weapon rules, right?" But, apparently, even with the two-weapon rules, you have to go full-attack to get both shots in, and at that point you're looking at the nasty penalties to the rolls.
If someone can show me where it says that Natural Attacks are immune to the full-attack rules, I would LOVE YOU. My PCs could use a good thrashing. ;-)

Torin Ironbeard |

As far as I know, you need to full attack to have more than one attack a round, whatever the source of the attacks. That's why pounce is so fantastic and TWF is kind of bad.

Kwin Longclaw |

Constitution is 8 (-1), Max HP is 16. Still pretty bad though for a damage dealer.
Well he's only at 18 normally so "pretty bad" is kinda his regular state. :o/ We're talking about 2 HP down and a 5% worse chance on Fortitude saves. I'm comfortable with soldiering on, so I'll leave it to the rest of the crew. If you folks think Kwin should take the time to get "repaired" before we go inside, I'm okay with that.

Kwin Longclaw |

Just wanted to "check in." I haven't posted since Wednesday, but I'm still here and reading along... Kwin just doesn't have much to say or do right now, and I don't believe in posting to a game just to be posting.
(I talk too much anyway, so shutting up every once in a while is A Good Thing™.)

Rasp the Rogue |

So are we skipping the granary to check out the next section?

Rasp the Rogue |

It is. I hadn't realized that he opened it. My mistake.

Kwin Longclaw |

This wouldn't work here because we haven't the opportunity to back away and prepare (the swarm cited below was composed of relatively slow baby spiders). But I'm curious as to your take on this, Ray... as in, if you would allow it.
The key question the fighter asked the GM was if soap was flammable in her world. She said it was, so he pulled a bar from his pack and proceeded to rub it all over his shield until the whole thing was covered. Then he had the PC with the torch "light it up" and he started doing flaming shield bashes against the swarm.
They had no oil, splash weapons or AoE magic, and I thought it was a rather clever solution to the problem, considering.

Ahmed Kharim |

Yeah, unless you have some solid area spells, Swarms can be really rough for low-level characters. You can use Torches against them but they're a) an improvised weapon subject to penalties, and b) only do 1d3 damage. But they're immune to like, everything else ever. Possibly we should pick up some of this in the future.

Djehuti |

I wouldn't mind starting with A, since it's the door at the top of the map, and we could work our way back around to the Main door, but I'm not sure Djehuti can see it. Depends on how high the wall/railing is where Kwin is standing.
I am sure he can see door B, though, since it's right there in front of everybody.

Kwin Longclaw |

I moved Kwin before reading this. I just wanted to move him closer but have him out of y'all's way until a decision was made. I'm fine with either door.
Observation: The area around A seems cramped, and that's been our downfall before. Maybe more fighting space if we go in via the double doors B?

Rasp the Rogue |

B seems to be your choice. So I'll go with that for now. Post should be up by lunch.

I should have the next room set to go tonight.

Certainly, nothing is stopping you from doing so. Town is basically just a jaunty walk away. And the House of Pentheru is yours to explore as you see fit. You're not under a ticking clock either. So don't feel as if you need to bitterly trek forward at all costs. You're treasure hunters. You're not trying to save the world - yet.

Izra Kayal |

*sigh* This is me, paying attention. Izra technically would have acted before everyone who fell asleep, and so wouldn't be able to wake Ahmed up, as Ahmed wouldn't have been asleep.
So, for the sake of not having to retcon/replay the round, we'll just say Izra Delayed until the end of the round, *then* woke up Ahmed. :-)

Rasp the Rogue |

DM, how much do PCs know about class abilities? I could roll a Knowledge check to have Djehuti know about Summoners and Eidolons. Know:Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
I'm hoping Ahmed can post his reaction soon. And part of that should include the realization that he can summon Suri. Once, he realizes this you can identify Suri as an Eidolon and know a bit about how his power works.

Ahmed Kharim |

I'll post for both of them this afternoon. I'm not precisely sure how I want to handle the summoning just yet, and I do want to deal with Ahmed being alone, and also have Suri explore where she is a bit, so I might keep them separated for a couple of posts.

Kwin Longclaw |

No reason to rush it, I say. Take your time and roleplay it the way it feels best for "the two of" you.

Izra Kayal |

If Izra is going to be using the crossbow a lot, the shield will be mostly slung across her back. While I'm happy to have it, for when she does need to go melee, would someone else prefer to have it that will use it more regularly?
It just seems slightly wasteful to relegate what is one of (if not the) most valuable items we've claimed to this point to a secondary-use item. But if no one else wants it, I'm sure she'll find a use for it at some point.

Rasp the Rogue |

Post coming tonight.

Kwin Longclaw |

Izra, I somehow overlooked your earlier comment. Kwin's a longbow kinda guy, so he has no use for a crossbow. Have at it, as far as he's concerned.
