Djehuti - A +2 sounds reasonable. So total result 16.

I agree with the general sentiment of how cool your down-time thinking is. One of our local GMs (Bucky of The Scorched) was doing something similar in his "Babylon" game and I always thought it was a great idea.
While I appreciate the "gift," if Kwin's going to be benefiting I think he should earn the privilege rather than rolling untrained. The original (Tinker) Kwin played an oriental flute. Would you be willing to let me swap out his level-up Knowledge (Local) for Perform (Wind)... and retcon the rest of his cash for a komuso flute which he'd've had with him all along (as did the original Kwin)?
(Mind, V1.0 wasn't very good at playing, but it relaxed him and kind of kept him company when he was alone in the wilderness. Whether he can eke out a living with it remains to be seen...)

As for loot, Izra is going to keep the shield. Looks like we will sell the armour. I am keeping the consumables for now, since you never know when we might want them. I don't care about wealth disparity that much, so I'm not going to do anything fancy with splitting up the loot. It usually works out over time. That being said, if you notice that we're level 4 and you have 1k worth of gear, speak up. TLDR: Everyone gets 970gp.
@Djehuti: Do you want the MWK longbow? I'm going to get a composite one instead.

Kwin Longclaw |

If Djehuti doesn't want it I could swap out Kwin's regular longbow for it. It's not a primary weapon for him though, so someone who's truly an archer type ought to have it.

Izra Kayal |

Izra swapped out DM for Enhanced Diplomacy, and swapped 1 rank of Diplomacy for Perform:Oratory. Her Lorekeeper Revelation says she learns most of her knowledge from stories, songs and legends, so that fits. She's learned how to tell stories. It ain't a class skill, so she's not *classically trained* at it, but she's picked up a few tricks, so she's decent.
So that's 970gp plus the shield and Holy Symbol? Or do I need to buy the symbol out of her cash? Either way is fine. Just wanna get the bookkeeping right.

Torin Ironbeard |

That's 970gp with selling the symbol (forgot you mentioned you wanted it). Basically, you want anything that I sold off, just buy it back from your share of the cash.

Izra Kayal |

Yep. That's what I figured. No worries at all!
I figure she's just making herself a big ol' target for dude in the afterlife. She'll show up there, he'll see her, and go "Hey! That's my shield! And my jewelry! What the hell!?!?!"
Should be fun. :-)

Izra Kayal |

DM, any opposition to Izra buying a half-charged Wand of CLW?
Also, is there anyone in the group who doesn't have at least low-light vision? I'm thinking of grabbing a shadow enhancer, because of the extra concealment Izra gets from it (50% miss chance), but if that would wind up blinding the party, I'll reconsider.
Also: Why isn't there a "continual darkness" spell? And why does a "Cap of light," which effectively allows the casting of a 0-level spell on your hat, cost 900gp, while an everburning torch, which is a Level 3 spell on a stick (or rock, or whatever), with a special component price of 50gp, only costs 110gp?
Sorry, /rant.

Kwin Longclaw |

Izra, Kwin was going to (in fact, promised to) buy a CLW wand as soon as he had the funds. I have zero problem with doing that and leaving it in your care to use on anyone who needs it. If we don't hang together, etc.
GM, Kwin's going to score one during the downtime, regardless. And if the market's pretty well stocked here, he'll go ahead and grab that komuso flute as well. :op

Kwin Longclaw |

Picking up a masterwork backpack, flute, and a CLW wand (the last of which he'll give to Izra when he sees her post-purchase). If we decide on a group purchase he'll chip in on that one as well.
Torin, 125 would be divided among six, were you excluding Kwin?

Izra Kayal |

To clarify, Kwin, are you saying you want to chip in on the group wand and one of your own? That seems a smidgen excessive at this point, but if you have the cash and desire to swing it, cool.
Izra has some shopping to do. I'll put that list up tonight (RL with the kids today).

Kwin Longclaw |

Correct. Kwin promised he'd buy one of his own, and he's a fox of his word. As for the group wand, not chipping in raises the cost for everyone else, and that isn't fair to y'all. We're a team. Besides, Kwin didn't have his eye on anything special right now anyway.
But the offer of him buying one for himself and the charges being used for whoever needs them (obviating the need for a group wand) still stands. Seems that'd be the better bet as it saves everyone some gold for other necessary purchases.

Izra Kayal |

Another option would be for the group to chip in on another wand, like Shield of Faith or something else that could serve as "preemptive healing." Lemme ponder for a bit, and see what I can come up with. I'll list some options, and the group can decide.

Izra Kayal |

Quick-and-Dirty list of potential "group wand" options:
1) CLW
2) Obscuring Mist (Can be a two-edged sword, since even Darkvision doesn't penetrate it.
3) Prot. Evil
4) Shield of Faith
Otherwise, we could look at holding off for now...

Big post moving the story forward, coming tonight. It's time to party.

Torin Ironbeard |

Meh, first level buff wands aren't the greatest for group buffing. If you buffed the whole party, there would only be 3 rounds remaining on the first guy. A half-charged wand of of Prot from evil might be worth it as an insurance policy against enchantments.

Izra Kayal |

OK, let's go with the Prot:Evil wand (full-charge, for ease of bookkeeping and to move us along). It'll last a while, unless we're dealing with a lot of summoned baddies and/or enchantments.

Izra Kayal |

You might want to consider some splash weapons, as well, like Alchemist's Fire, Holy Water, Acid, etc.
What a strange coincidence - some of those very items can be found on Izra's updated gear list. :-)
If everyone else wants to free up some cash to purchase such items, we can go with the 1/2-charge Prot:Evil wand. That would leave each of us an extra 62.5gp to spend on splashy stuff.

Djehuti |

That's the only way Djehuti will have any money to buy splash weapons after buying a portable alchemist's lab and scribing scrolls, so I vote for that.
Next time we have downtime he can Craft alchemy items.

Rasp the Rogue |

Man you guys are just cleaning up this encounter. It's worth noting that Knowledge Local checks tell you information now while Gather Information takes a couple hours and you'll need to do that after the party.
But whatever since Torin the spy master evidently knows all. I'll do the data drop when I get home later today.

Hey, quick show of hands, who here has Ancient Osiriani now?
I'll have a post moving us to the House of Pentheru tonight.

Ahmed Kharim |

There are only six PCs. Suri is an eidolon.
D'OH! That's what I get for just scanning the list rather than actually, you know, thinking.
I'll take this as a sign that I'm doing an okay job roleplaying. :P
I really should have kept my loots up to date already. Looking back doesn't super help make it clear. We got 125g each from selling stuff? And I spent half of that (62.5) on the Prot Evil wand? Just trying to make it sure how much I have.

Kwin Longclaw |

... we each pitched in 187.5gp for wands.
You may have more money than you think. Where'd that figure come from? 62.5 was for a half-full Protection from Evil. Kwin bought a Cure Light Wounds out of his own pocket and committed it to the common good. Was there another wand we all chipped in on?
EDIT: I gotta learn to either open one thread at a time, or check for additions before I commit. A 20 minute ninja is ridiculous! :op :o)
