The heroes start to go to work on the abrikandilus starting with Garith. Yet something is off as first Garith misses with Radiance. The blade not coming close to the body of the creature. As he steps back, Zeriax and Maelchar strike from range. Maelchar's hammer strikes solidly as only one of Zeriax's arrows finds its mark. The demon looks at the wounds and ignores the pain and ichor that runs across his body. Reiko attempts to move forward past the demons but the presence of the second abrikandilu is too much for her as she ends up provoking from the two of them. (CMD is 23 normally add +2 to a second opponent makes it a 25)

Stuck where she is on the front the two demons lash out at her for her presumption of moving past them.

Her own strike misses just as Garith's did.

Samantha touches Reiko to give her a small blessing o guidance in the hopes that it will help her next round.

PAkak, not knowing if the demons are resistant to cold damage but figuring they are tries to lob a ball of cold at the fron demon nonetheless. The aim was not to hit or even damage the creature but to distract it enough to give Reiko a better chance at standing in the doorway.

Claws and teeth... claws and teeth... Reiko's awareness comes down to rending claws, tearing teeth, pain, and utter failure. She hits the floor as a bloody pulp, glad the end comes quickly and she doesn't get a chance to consider her complete failure. Her last conscious thought is Forgive me, Lady Shizuru, my blade was not enough...

I do have 2 Hero Points and will spend them to stay alive. I assume I still need to make the mutilation saves so I'll include those. It looks like you have a separate Fort Save on the possible crit and the confirmation that results. Since it is one hit, I believe I only need to make one save there. If not, I've included the extra save.
FWIW, I don't have 4 Mirror armor.

Your right, I missed that originally when you fought them and carried it over to this fight. Not that it mattered much as they made they saves against it anyways. I am glad you had the 2 hero points to use at least. From here on out the mod gets difficult as soon you guys will be mythic...one level of the compound down, 1 to go. Almost there.

Garith will let Mael and Sam attack with reach and Zeriax to take his shots and Pakak to do his thing.
He steps into the door after the others attack to lay into the wounded Demon as well, along with Mael.

Maelchar and Garith both time their attacks precisely as needed so that Maelchar strikes first with is hammer with a massive blow while Garith steps up with Radiance to cleanly slice the chest open as the demon looks surprised at the quick and unexpected death.

Only 1 demon left, come on Pakak and Samantha. GArith, Irabeth does have some LoH left but she really didn't have the chance to use them to help Reiko. It all happened in a single turn unfortunately.

"Reiko!" - Zeriax lets out as her companion hits the ground, victim to an onslaught of attacks from the devilish creatures.

I still have 2 uses on Terendelevs' scale.

Gripping his bow tighter, the monk presses on against the remaining creature - "You shall not prevail" - he speaks almost to himself, regaining some calm to focus on the task at hand.

Zeriax fires a volley at the remaining demon in the doorway. The first arrow strikes cleanly but without the damage that he would have liked. The second arrow bounces off the armor like skin and does no damage. (natural armor not DR)

Since there's just one left may make sense to save the sphere since we have a whole nother level to deal with. Although Aid for Mael might be nice since he is out heaviest single-hitter at the moment


With Reiko down you coul hit the demon with the spher without it targeting one of your companions. You do recall that they are demons though and most demons are reistant to the elements.

Also since they are Evil Outsiders, I get a +1 to AC against them meaning that my flatfooted AC is 22, and those first two attacks wouldn't have hit for that 15 damage... can i have my HP back, pretty please since we never actually changed tactics cause of it?

Zeriax shifts his position, to make sure the wall does not provide cover to his enemy. Finding a suitable position, he unleashes another hail of arrows.

In a final avalanche of blows the demon succumbs to the inevitable and goes down. The fury of battle gone leaves the silence oppressive and almost unbearable. Collectives breathes held in a moment of pure silence, heads are bent down to honor the fallen Reiko.

Stopping down to close her eyes, Irabeth mumbles something almost unintelligible but you can make out the words Iomedae, lost and hope.

Reaching on slowly with one hand Irabeth's hovers over Reiko's eyes for a brief moment. As she does so a faint breath of air hits her hand. Not believing what she is feeling she keeps her hand there longer. Again the breath of air hits her hand. Reaching down to touch the skin Irabeth still feels warmth in Reiko's face and a faint but definite pulse.

She is still alive. By the gods I do not know how but she is!!

we kinda have a bunch of potions, Want we should use a few of them? 13 Cure Light pots.That way we have the scale for the second level that we have to clear out.

Variel, so is it too late about the damage? The demons are evil outsiders so Garith gets a +1 to AC and attack against them, pushing his flat footed to 22, so the 21's that the demons rolled at the start of the fight wouldn't have hit. If it's too late, that's cool, I'll be on top of it next time.

Zeriax, i took off 17 Iron Arrows from the Loot List. Do you want/need to stock up on the normal arrows too? And how many times did you miss so we can collect the missed arrows, if you want?

Yep, I say go for the pots for now? Yeah, I'll stock up on normal arrows too Garith - thanks for updating the stock. I can't honestly say how many arrows I have missed - probably as many as I hit :/ If we survive all this, I'll go back with Zeriax and sweep the area for arrows :D

Reiko comes to suddenly with a sharp, wet inhale followed by an explosive howl of pain and rage. She writhes on the floor - retroactively feeling every demonic claw and tooth. Reflexively, she grabs the blood-drenched hilt of her sword, using it to ground herself in the here and now. Greased by copious amounts of her own blood, the ronin slides herself across the floor and into a sitting position against the doorframe.

She wipes the gore from her brutalized face, and understates, "I'm going to need a moment."

That is ok Garith take the hp back. I forgot to say that earlier with the end of combat and Irabeth's post.

Potions are a good way to go as they provide quick healing out of combat and it leaves the larger healing for in combat if necessary. Keep talking amongst yourselves as you want. Just let me know if you have questions for me or actions you want to take.

Reiko gratefully accepts and drinks another couple of potions. As an after-thought, she takes a third and stores it in her bandolier. When all her wounds are finally healed, she struggles to her feet and then cleans her weapons. She looks somewhat haunted and her mood is introspective. "Ready to carry on."

Why don't we use charges off the CLW wand? They're far cheaper than the potions. Samantha will use one on herself. Marked off 5 charges. Just put those potions back on the loot sheet.

That is ok with me if Samantha wants to use the wand. It comes to the same thing mechanically. As for the original tieflings I will have to look, but I thought I gave it to you already. They did not have much but rapiers, lt crossbows, and ?leather? armor. I will check once I get time.

Pakak, among the decapitated and mutilated paladin crusaders you find a warhammer that has withstood the assault of the abrikandilus. The rest of the gear that the paladin's once had is battered and destroyed, but his weapon remains intact. Focusing your magic sight on the item you discover that it is actually a +1 adamantine warhammer. Further more when in the hands of a follower of Torag the user is automatically proficient with the warhammer.

Anyone else want to do anything before proceding upstairs? Pakak you will have about 1 minute left on the magic weapon spell once you get upstairs as it took 3 to loot the tieflings and search this room.

Reiko you already have 2 facets of the same god like being. I don't know about adding Torag to the mix :)

By kick in the door I assume you mean head upstairs as there is no door right now.
