Simon returns Zoe's smile; albeit an unconvinced one, "Just what does Eddie have in mind when he says 'professional'? I guess we'll just be following his lead, hmm?"
I doubt there's much of a threshold; it's a place of business, not a home, and without a threshold, long-term wards are tricky, so Simon wouldn't have put any up.

With a little shake of her head Zoe replies "To be honest I don't know, he might mean your professional help. Which would be required if the man was bespelled."
"One thing I am certain of it that the call was being monitored, whether by this man or someone else.... more powerful. All we can do is prepare and wait." she checks her watch again. 'Learn patience girl.'

We seem to be stalling so...
Jackie seems a bit uncomfortable on the back of the bike, but he arrives in one piece at Simon's office. "I'm confused, why we goin' to a place like this? Boss usually meets me in restaurants." He asks Eddie as they dismount the bike and approach the door.

Eddie Tesla |

I expected Jack's question about Van Horne to be a trap, so I was waiting to see if I had maneuvered around the question artfully enough to get him to come back with me
"Restaurants are too public to keep that thing. Here we have a business front, discreet and able to keep guards posted." Eddie replied without missing a beat. He was surprised at how natural the accent was becoming. "Also, makes a better venue to discuss illicit dealings." He led Jackie inside, quickly stifling his own confusion about the unknown man. "Meet the crew. The dame's Zoe, then we have Simon and that's Tony" He said, quickly ad-libbing at the end. "So take a seat and put your feet up. Boss'll be here when business is over. In the mean time, if you need want a drink, Simon here makes a cup of tea my old lady calls Dreamy". Eddie emphasizes the end, hoping that Simon gets the hint.

Blair Renault |

Previously on Urban Decay...
Blair pulls out a piece of chalk and starts making quick marks across the front wall, spending longer marking the frame of the door then quickly inscribing a long runic circle around the remainder of the office.
"I am not going to put too much into this, but it should act as a sort of magical ground. Once I activate it, anything crossing it is going to get connected to the earth and drained of a measure of energy."
Ward magic @ conviction 3, conviction focus +1 = 4, ward discipline focus +1 4d3 - 8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 3) - 8 + 5 = 5
As the two men enter the office, Blair completes the circle with a final scratch of chalk and a bit of energy. There is no sudden buildup of pressure, instead standing close to the ward, he can feel a slight flow, like a soft breeze moving towards the ward.
Blair does his best to look menacing in the back of the room and less like a moderately rumpled college professor.

"Not to worry," Simon reassures the blank looking man, pressing a steaming cup into his hands and gesturing towards a couch, "the main thing is you did a good job, and I'm sure the boss is going to be very appreciative when he gets here. You may as well just sit back and relax while we wait... maybe rest your eyes a little and let the alcohol wear off, hmm?"

Zoë Campbell |

Zoë, moves over to pick up her coat and removes the thugs money clip. Flicking through the bills overtly; she nods to the man reassuring him as Simon verbally acts. Perching on the edge of the desk she watches the Doctor get to work.
A flick of her hair as she says; "Hi." to Eddie, then her attention focuses on what Simon is doing. 'I wonder if this could help me?'
