Kris hits home with his bullet, but the nimble skeleton dodges out of the way of the rest of the party's attacks. It steps forward, lashing out at the deep gnome with sharp, bony fists for 18 damage, 3 of which is bleed! "You were warned."

Kris yelps as the skeletal hand rips into his flesh.
"OW! But fair enough, you did warn us! Ow."
The gnome staggers back - and his visage shifts and wavers!
Took 5ft step southwest and activated Blur SLA with a four minute duration.
"This distortion grants the subject concealment (20% miss chance)"
14/32 hp. Uh oh. Kris could really use healing!

The fusillade of magic missles slams into the skeleton, followed by a bullet that knocks off one of the skeleton's arms. Zyrel brings his sword down in the skeleton's skull, shattering it.

Zyrel shakes his head "I foresaw there would be a moment when it would try to block with its right arm, and Kristleifur would remove it. Expecting to parry the blow, it did not bother to dodge. Little skill in that. In truth I suspect it was the storm of arcane missiles that truly put paid to it."

"I believe this encounter has taught us that asking questions first will not reveal any answers. May we proceed more aggressively from here on out?" Aakif suggests.
"Lanatir, if you would take the lead, please. Kristleifur, do you believe that we need to be wary of traps and other trickery?"

In rummaging through the skeleton's things, Kristleifur finds a necklace of prayer beads with an onyx medallion depicting the skeletal fist of Sranava. Not too inherently valuable, but perhaps worth a bit to a collector.

"Bony here lost them with his head!", the gnome says, chuckling.
"Now, we go quietly!"
With that, the gnome advances down the corridor with as little noise as he can manage.

Lanatir nods to Kristleifur. He takes the lead as requested by Aakif, following Kristleifur's lead by also trying to be stealthy and perceptive.
Despite his lack of training (and his discomfort trying new things), Lanatir does a reasonably good job at moving quietly. Not as good as the Svirfneblin of course, but not bad.

In a ferocious flurry of attacks, the party cuts down the skeleton before it even has a chance. As Lanatir steps in to strike the final blow, he spies an alcove to the north, and a hallway leading further into the complex.

Zyrel squints at his weapon, carefully tapping the barrel a few times to dislodge the bullet that seems to have stuck. With a sigh he stows the rifle and draws his bow. 'I think something moved when I dropped it. I'll need to repair it later. Maybe cover it in something flexible as well. Bow would've bounced.'
Dragging his mind away from whether rubber could be induced to crystalline around a metal tube or whether magic would be better, Zyrel pushed on.
As they passed the fallen skeleton he stopped to see how it had fared, and what blows had felled it. He then spent a second stabbing it with two different arrows before removing the skull.
"Sometimes they get back up." he explained. ...incorrectly
trying to work out what arrows might work on a creature like this.
