never trust a priest. Pop was always wise in his warnings
I should note Elsa is a halfling and already very short
Elsa crawls through, muttering

GM Coyote |

Apologies for the lack of posts, been having a rough few days. I'll update tomorrow.

GM Coyote |

Inside the room is an odd sight. A woman hangs suspended from the ceiling from thick spider webs, though in stark contrast to the corpse on the throne she’s perfectly preserved.

Aakif Al-Khismia |

When Elsa and Armanus enter the room with Aakif, he channels some life into them.
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Then he tries to look over the body of the preserved woman, looking for cause of death.
Heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

GM Coyote |

As Aakif goes to study the woman her eyes snap open. A wicked grin spreads across her face as eight spider legs unfold from her back.
Her voice is smooth and deadly, "Fools. You should never have come here. You will meet only death."

Aakif Al-Khismia |

"Monster. We will watch the Grim Reaper drag your soul to Judgement!" Aakif swears before getting into a combat stance.
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Elsa Swiftfoot |

sorry about the delay, Paizo signed me out and I couldn't get back in for a while
Lady, I'm in a real bad mood.
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
scorching ray (electrical): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 touch attack
damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 5) = 12
With a sudden word and a cast, a blast of lightning strikes at the spider woman
current HP is 14 (thanks Aakif)
current AC is 20 (mage armour)

GM Coyote |

The woman drops from the cieling, landing in front of Aakif. She gives a wicked grin before latching onto him with her spidery legs.
Aakif is now grappled by the spider woman. The party is up!
Enemy init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Aakif Al-Khismia |

Aakif tries his best to stay calm, and trust in Abadar and his companions.
Total defense for +4AC. Since it's a dodge bonus, my cmd also goes up by 4.

Lanatir |

Lanatir moves into the room and strikes at the spider-woman with his Curve Blade.
Attack, PA: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

Zyrel |

prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Zyrel moves to fire, then hesitates as his keenly honed foresight warns him of the disastrous outcome.
Instead, sighing, he drops his bow, murmurs a few words and follows Lanatir' lead.
Cast: Sense Vitals. Move to the other side of the woman from Lanatir (for flanking). Does not have an action to attack. If the woman has the ability to do AoO while grappling she will get a free shot.

GM Coyote |

I'll bot Armanus tomorrow.

GM Coyote |

Ach, been up in the mountains for the past few days and spotty wifi ate my post. Expect something in the morning.

GM Coyote |

The woman flinches as Elsa's magic missles hit her and gets even angrier when Lanatir cleaves a deep gash into her side.
She tries to grab Aakif even tighter, whispering, "I will devour you like I devoured the rest." However, Aakif was ready, and manages to break free of her clutches.
She scowls and crawls backwards on the ceiling, getting away from the dangerous spot between the two elven warriors.
Grapple 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Aakif Al-Khismia |

Aakif feels empowered by the success of his faith. In a deep voice, he bellows
"In the name of Abadar, I command you to fall!"
Casting command (fall). DC15 Will save to negate

GM Coyote |

Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
The spider-woman’s eyes go wide as she falls to the ground.

Lanatir |

Lanatir steps forward and nods to Zyrel.
Moving so that you can get a flank if you wish. He slashes at the spider-woman again.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Probably a miss even with the Prone penalty to her AC...
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

GM Coyote |

The party's attacks go wide, though Elsa's magic missiles hit home.
Finding herself on the ground, the spider-lady is far from pleased.
She slashes at Lanatir with a clawed leg, but the nible elven warrior dodges her attack easily.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Aakif Al-Khismia |

Aakif steps in with his dagger drawn, and harries the spider woman to help Lanatir hit.
Aid Another: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
So Lanatir will get a +2 to his next attack roll

Zyrel |

Zyrel steps forward, his sword held high, then pauses "Nearly... Now." he shouts as he strikes, all his breath surging at once into a deadly strike, timed to occur just as she glances at Lanatir.
5ft step
prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 4
attack+flanking+study: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 27
crit?: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 23
damage+2h str+sneak+study: 1d10 + 3 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 + (2) = 14
additional damage if crit damage + 2h str + bloodthirsty : 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6

Lanatir |

Assisted by Aakif's distraction, Lanatir strikes.
Attack, PA, Aid Another: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 - 2 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
@Zyrel, did you mean to step into a flank with me? Not seeing it on the map but +2 more to hit for me if you did.

GM Coyote |

Together, the dynamic, destructive duo of Zyrel and Lanatir finish off the spider woman, and as she falls her body shifts into a horrid amalgam of human and spider, eight bulbous eyes and large, spiked mandibles.
The temple is silent again.

Elsa Swiftfoot |

we meet so many interesting people here. Moving on?
Elsa cast detect magic and examines the body
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
why do the dice hate me?

Lanatir |

"Outside, afterwards, if you wanted to do that, Zyrel. You need quite a pyre to burn a body and it makes a lot of smoke. Let's move on once Elsa is done."

Lanatir |

"Do we think this was the Abbot? Or merely an underling?
We were led to believe that the Abbot was male: remember, 'You can tell Abbot Sanahi that he and his cronies aren't welcome here!'
I suppose we may as well bring the head and explore the rest of this cursed place."

GM Coyote |

Exploring the complex, the party finds a few things of interest.
In the spider-woman's chamber, a lacquered wooden box contains a fair amount of ornate Vudran jewelry and a small book written in an unfamiliar script. Eight passageways extend from the main chamber, with niches in the wall containing bodies wrapped in webs, many of them exhibiting partially spidery features.
One in particular is a very well dressed man with mandibles growing from his face.

Zyrel |

Zyrel looks around, and puts his hand over his face, thumb and middle finger pressed to his temples.
"Are we going to need to take all their heads?"
Removing his hand he sighs. "Any of them could be undead, so we'll need to be careful. Can someone start scanning for auras? Additionally, there's been one trap already, and could well be more. Someone needs to look. Is anyone an expert? I only did a few years as part of standard schooling - Lanatir, was that before or after you dro... left?"

Elsa Swiftfoot |

Does anyone know disrupt undead? Shoot each one with that and see if they wake up. Or maybe Aakif can cook them. That's a thing priest can do, isn't it? She looks at the figures.
You know, a description of the guy would have been good

Zyrel |

"No, necromancy was somewhat frowned upon when I was studying. I suppose we could solve two problems if Lanatir decapitates them. Usually I'm opposed to defiling corpses but..." Zyrel gestures to the area around them.
Zyrel summon four globes of light, positions them behind him and turns to casting his eyes over the tunnels looking for dangers.
don't think he can use Prescience on Perception
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 low light, eagle eyes, eagle eyed, owl familiar vs dark penalties
