Cleo will fire her bow as well

Cleo Gingerberry |

Is everyone still blessed? Or did enough time pass between her blessing and opening the door/combat?

![]() |

Ali, Vandra, Helgar. We all go before the Quasit

DM TreasureFox |

You're all still blessed. You can see when you look at the map that I have you all listed as such. You can find the map at the top of this page, listed as The Catacombs. I'll consider Cleo's surprise round to be moving into position where she can get a clear shot. I'm going to give just a little longer before I bot, perhaps a couple hours.

Helgarr |

I read 'Furnok, Maria, and Cleo can take their 1st regular turn now, then the Quasit' - so I think I should go after the quasit?
I assumed my initial movement was during the surprise round, or something like that?

DM TreasureFox |

Yes, your initial movement was during the surprise round. We'll get back to you after the Quasit. Sorry if it's been unclear. If you have any suggestions on how I can display initiative order, I'd be happy to hear them (though I'd prefer it in the discussion thread, if possible please).
Right now, I'm in need of Ali and Azeri to complete both their surprise round and 1st turn. I'll be moving on very soon, just after I finish eating dinner. Sorry for the delay, I know that this stuff can be confusing. PS: We may not have anyone with K.Planes (maybe?) but so far no one really knows that the creature is a Quasit. I'm just calling it a Quasit for simplicity's sake.

Helgarr |

No suggestions TreasureFox - I think the initiative is perfectly clear. I understood it as you meant it. Maria threw me off :D

![]() |

I'm an idiot. I looked at the unsorted init and thought it was the sorted. D'oh!

DM TreasureFox |

Ali Shoots1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15hit
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Ali Shoots2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20hit
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Azeri Slam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22hit
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Concentration in melee: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
As soon as the doors open, Ali takes a shot with his crossbow. Although the shot clearly hit, it seems to ping off the creature. Maria also shoots from her bow, and thanks to the divine guidance from Cleo manages to hit its mark. The arrow does manage to pierce the creature in the chest, letting a few drops of blood fall from it into the pool. Afterwards, Cleo and Ali make their shots, both of which hit, but both ping off the creature.
Meanwhile, Azeri races over next to Furnok and slams the flying evil faerie with his paws. Although he feels some resistance, he clearly strikes deep into the creature, making several more drops fall into the pool. The triangular pool starts to churn faster, but it's glow immediately diminishes.
The creature then cries out in anguish and says something in a foreign language before it's form slowly fades away until it can't be seen at all.
Everyone's turn, except for Ali and Azeri (I just ran them).

As combat is joined and the creature disappears, Vandra looked wildly around before laying his hand on Jeaux, channeling his magic into her body. Slowly, as the others looked around for the strange being, Jeaux grew in size before standing almost as tall as her son, her eyes narrowed as she took up a defensive position near Vandra.
1 round to cast Enlarge Person on Jeaux. +2 Str, -2 Dex, weapon deals 2d6+2 damage. Lasts for 20 rounds. Jeaux is using a readied action to attack the creature if it appears near her or Vandra.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo mutters this is bad as she anxiously darts her eyes around.

![]() |

Do you have any bags of flour?!

![]() |

Maria grins. What's it stuffed with?

![]() |

Just toss it as high as you can. Maria draws her arrow back taking aim.

Helgarr |

Aaaaaah, invisibility. The scourge of low level PCs :D
Helgarr moves back up from where they came, and closes the door after everyone is in the room - "We must not let it get away!"

Alandrian Verium |

Sorry guys. I'm still here. Just had a busy few days. Work is being s~*@ty and I kinda did something HUGE on Valentines Day so... Haha I'm back now. I'll fold in again.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo undoes her cloak, setting down her bow to do it
glad your back sir, and I hope the HUGE thing turned out good!

![]() |

I'll get the balls and chains

DM TreasureFox |

Welcome back, Ali, I'm always glad to see you guys.
No one can trace or hear where the creature has gone (not even with that great check, Furnok, sorry). However, from the depths of the triangular pool, bubbles begin to rise and pop. Rising up from it, another Sinspawn, but this time it is wreathed in a black flame.
The two doors on either side of Helgarr mysteriously creek open as well, revealing a rotting human each, as they lumber forwards with groans of hunger.
Maria, you can make a prepared attack against a creature of your choice instead of the Quasit.
Everyone's turn

![]() |

It's uglier than the last one!
Sinspawn: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

"Gah, I hate undead!" Vandra said as the shambling corpses made their way into the room. The fear that an agent of Pharasma would be drawn to any undead was always a worry for him. Resolved to finishing this as soon as possible, he quickly thought back to the spells he had prepared for the day. Nodding in his head, a low chant came from his throat as his hands swiftly moved in arcane gestures. A brief flash came from his throat before his cheeks bulged. Turning towards the closest creature, his head leaned back before going forward, a glob of viscous black fluid flying from his mouth to land on the corpse.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4
Jeaux, grinning at the chance to use her larger form in battle, twirled her glaive before lunging out at the corpse that her son had just (hopefully) bound in place. Unfortunately, her thrill at being at almost her original size threw her aim off course.

DM TreasureFox |

Zombie AoO Maria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Vandra Conc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Zombie AoO Vandra: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
As Maria and Vandra take their actions, they both unfortunately realize too late that the zombies are too close for comfort. The first zombie slaps it's arms against Maria without too much effect, but the second one smashes Vandra hard, almost knocking him out in a single blow! Even though she got hit, Maria still looses a clean shot at the Sinspawn, taking it off guard long enough for Furnok to cut into it's side.
Jeaux, in a desperate attempt to help her son, attacks the second Zombie, but she's unused to this larger form.
Waiting on Helgarr, and Cleo
Don't forget Bless, everyone. That's a +1 to hit.
Vandra, are you certain that Jeaux's damage is 2d6? I would have guessed 1d10 for medium.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo freaks out when evil rotty things shamble out when all she is holding is a cloak. She set down her bow somewhere... ugh... drawing her dagger she'll duck out of helgarr's way (next to zombie) and tries to distract it enough to let Helgarr's smash it to greasy grimy bits.
aidanother: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 but getting zombie's attention is hard.

![]() |

That's what the d20 site said here. I thought it would be 1d10 as well.

Alandrian Verium |

Then her damage should be 1d10. That list is for Medium to Large. If a Small Creature is enlarged to Medium, their gear enlarges and functions as medium gear. There is a debate about it here, but the consensus seems to be that it just functions as a regular Medium Glaive. Though damn do I wish it worked differently. I'd play a Halfling Fighter all damn day. I love those guys.

![]() |

Took another look, and you're right. I missed the sentence saying that if the creature starts out Small or smaller then the damage only increases by one step, not two. Thanks for pointing that out to me, at least my attack didn't hit so we don't have to redo anything.

Alandrian Verium |

It is cool. I at the same time love and hate d20pfsrd, because rule questions get answered really easily, but at the same time sometimes it can be a little too vague and condensed.
Man... if Ali dies I am totally making a Halfling now.

![]() |

Yay! Another halfling to teach the error of their non thieving ways! Once I'm finished with Cleo we can double team it.

![]() |

I'm actually not sure what I would replace Vandra and Jeaux with if they were to die. Which might happen, since that one zombie knocked me down to 1hp in one hit...
Vandra, the spell disrupted, was unable to do anything but watch as the zombie's arm crashed into his chest. 'Yup, I think that's a couple broken ribs,' he thought clinically before the pain caught up with him. A short yell of pain is all he's able to give as the air is knocked out of his lungs.

Helgarr |

Just one note to say: Dang TreasureFox! That map and minis look good! :D

Thank you very much, Helgarr. Though everything can be found either online or through the adventure path, it does take a little bit of time to make. Sidenote: Don't forget your -1 to hit when power attacking. I really appreciate the math, and I feel your pain.

Furnok Will: 1d20 ⇒ 15
As Helgarr roars to her companions, she cleaves into the zombie, cutting right through it's rotting flesh to take off it's arm and shoulder. It roars back, reaching out with it's remaining hand to grasp at Helgarr's neck, but in a flash, she dispatches it with a thrust through the neck.
Meanwhile, the other zombie continues to thrash at Maria, but it's elbow join snaps at the last second, leaving it's arm limb like a flail.
Up on the balcony, the tiny creature reappears with a wail to the Sinspawn. Furnok starts to feel his muscles turning rock solid, but with sheer determination he breaks out of her enchantment. The Sinspawn turns to fight Azeri with tooth and claw. Thankfully, Azeri's magical protection shields him from a terrible bite, although one claw does shred into the eidolon's chest.

Just remembered that a glaive is a reach weapon, so Jeaux couldn't have attacked the zombie thing in her last round, so it's a good thing she missed. Really have to keep track of these things...
Feeling himself on his last legs, Vandra backed up slightly, his left arm holding onto his spear to keep himself upright. 'Don't think I can take much more of this,' he thought to himself and he tried to think of what he could do. Frowning, as he realized that offense wasn't really his strong suit, and he should really try to remember that in the heat of the moment, his right hand reached out to place itself on his mother's shoulder. A low chant of nonsensical words flowed from his lips as Jeaux found herself suddenly seeing the perfect spots to strike.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 20 = 30

Jeaux backed up with her son, her eyes never leaving the corpse that nearly killed Vandra. Almost without realizing it, she felt her son's magic filling her up. Her eyes zeroed in on the shambling zombie and she nodded her head. It was time to end this. With that thought, the glaive flashed out, torchlight glinting off of the blade, before slashing deep into the zombie's flesh.
