"Harvey, I'm warning you! Don't you dare start with the dragon turtles all the way down thing again. I'll leave you behind when we go to the island. I'll leave you with the kids from that orphanage the Silver Crusaders shut down! They'll put ribbons in your beard again. I'll even by them the pink frilly ones!"

To be fair, this is all very sudden. Those of you who are Pathfinders were told that you would be exploring the island (but haven't been told much else) and those of you who aren't Pathfinders have either been bribed or promised glory or threatened to come here mandrake the job...
Hey man, Sarenrae herself called Raphael to do this.* Don't go cheapening it by saying he was bribed/threatened. :-P
* What Raphael believes to be true. Most likely not though. Also, was the religion+planes spoiler meant for me and Suzu to read?
Hearing Suzumaru's comment, Raphael hands Harvey another pamphlet.
Hearing the other recruit's statement, Raphael frowns. "I doubt it'd be wise to underestimate this sorcerer fellow. Anybody who can move an island must have a great deal of power." He shrugs. "But if I'm mistaken, then if a group of 'greenies' could defeat him, we should have no problem with an even smaller risk of someone getting hurt." Almost to himself he adds, "I wonder what his plan is. Why move an island here? Why be so obvious?"

"Maybe to show power..."

"Oi! I take it that means your volunteerin!" Hamish ribs.
"A good question might be, why bother? Plenty of old bad liches dustin up the place to worry over. What's another?"

The man snorts. "More let being forced into it. We Pathfinders don't get much choice in assignments until we become Seekers."

"Balance?" Hamish says inquisitively. "There's a big hole in the universe spittin out demons up north if you want to correct balances." He thumbs towards Leafripper. "And one of his mates got ate by a bloody walking salad bowl it's a mad world. "Perhaps you'd like to stay here have some tea and put your feet up? " Orion asks sardonically?
"How about because it's what we pathfinders do?!? We explore the strange and mysterious and spread the knowledge. "

He then realizes he had been shouting, and sits back down.

Leafripper: Generally unless you're going to be gone at least a couple of days and it's something where a response is expected, you don't need to update everybody when you leave.
I'm also going to assume that I was supposed to read that religion+planes spoiler earlier since it came right after my planes roll comment.
Trying to steer the conversation clear of the touchy subject of loved ones dying, Rapahel flips through the tome. "Huh, well, as you might expect, it appears Acererak wasn't always as threatening as he is now. It looks like originally he was researching a solution to eternal life for his kingdom. Eventually growing frustrated at his lack of success, he tried to take a short cut and got the help of various dark fiends and devils to turn himself into a lich." He shakes his head sadly. "This, of course, corrupted his soul and drove him mad. He started playing around with the planes, and...oh dear."
Here he looks up, making sure to make eye contact with any and all spellcasters around him. "It seems that he may have merged some planes, potentially warping how magic should work. Going ethereal or astral would most likely draw unwanted attention." He absently feeds Harvey another pamphlet, patting him on the head as he crouches down to look the goat in the eye. "I'm afraid that this time if a bird needs healing, it may be most unwise to ask your green haired friend to teleport from inside the area. But...I can't be certain. Best not to risk it though, eh?"
He rises, clearly looking troubled and absently fiddling with his holy symbol. "Dear me, I hope I'll still be able to use my healing abilities effectively. True, I have some mundane medicinal knowledge, but I fear it might not be enough."

Suzumaru Viskillian |

"Don't worry Raphael, I'm still banned from handling teleport scrolls and the like... For at least another year." Trying to see the passage in the book,"Do you think it will cause trouble with short range teleportation magics like that bard spell Jester's Jaunt or Dimension Door?"

Suzumaru Viskillian |

Suzu pouts a bit after reading about the dangers of teleportation based magics. Then addresses the goat,"Harvey, remind me when we have our little nightly chat, that we need to get inspiration from someone other than our regular heavenly friend."
Looks like I need to swap out the Heavens wandering spirit or at least the Heaven's Leap hex, for something else the next time I prepare spells.
My commune with the spirits time is at 8:00PM

Well, looking outside... it is about 7:30 PM, and you have a vision that the Venture Captain will come back in 10 minutes game time.

The door to the Grand Lodge opens to admit a tall, statuesque elven woman. She has the look of a scholar; a beauty with blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin, but this is belied by the longsword that hangs at her hip and the explorer's outfit that she wears. Her chain shirt sparkles a bluish-sheen and the links seem too fine to be of standard construction.
With a sidelong glance to those around her, she walks to the register and signs her name, then mingles with the crowd.

The Pathfinder who spoke before turns back to you. "Rumor is, they spotted dungeons and tombs all over this island. They are sending squads inside each one so they can clear it out as quickly as possible... It'd be bad if demons came out of there with Absolom so close by. What I definitely know is that they sent mages and workers to the coast to build docks and a makeshift base of operations."

Father Raphael
"Well, hopefully they also have solid lines of communication. It'd be bad is people started disappearing without anyway of noticing. It'd probably be best to have at least daily check-ins with the mainland. The last thing I'd want is for us to accidentally supply the guy with his own mini-army of killed Pathfinders."

The elven lady looks around at the sudden attention at her entrance. "Greetings," she says cordially, but cooly. "I am Kyrethia, a dealer in rare antiquities. I have no small skill in the Art and would like to join with any group doing explorations."

Suzumaru Viskillian |

Suzumaru lost in discussion and reading, looks up at this exclamation, turns a bright crimson color all over, and then runs over to Kyrethia. She then blurts out,"Oh my! I'm so sorry! Harvey was raised in a barn and has no manners! you must forgive his lecherous behavior!"
Turning to the goat,"Orph-A-Nage! I mean it this time..."
Turning back to the elegant elf lady, Suzumaru bows and introduces herself, "Greetings Fair One, I am Suzumaru Viskillian ju Dormands el Squirrel, humble servant to the spirits and currently disgraced pathfinder. I sincerely apologize for Harvey's untoward behavior, he is possessed by the spirits of life, and can occasionally be rather...
um... male."

Max comes in just in time hearing this I've heard there are dungeons and tombs around here. That is why I'm here, to prove myself. My group I was with said I would never make it without them in such a dangerous place, but I tend to prove them wrong.
Max pauses for a minute. Say this place you speak of, has anyone returned alive?

No one has entered any tombs or dungeons yet as far as you know. The only people on the island are building docks on the very coast of it so that they can transport people/materials
