Orion takes the book and looks at it curiously. He starts to read after a minute. You get the impression that he hasn't done this in awhile. However after a moment he appears to be having no problem.

Will everyone who doesn't have linguistics trained give me an untrained roll to see if you can reduce the DC on some of this information? You feel like your getting some of it, but with a bit more effort, might just get it all. (Anyone with it trained already has the DC reduction)

Responding to Suzumaru's story. "Well, we all make mistakes. Sarenrae only knows how many I've made. Best we can do is try not to repeat them. And at least there seems to have been no serious consequences to your actions. And now a small bird will be able to happily grow up thanks to you."
Also, in response to Leafripper's earlier question about the pamphlet, I mentioned it in my intro post; it's just some basic info about undead and demons.
In response to Hamish's intro
" 'Mad' Hamish? That seems like an...odd way to introduce yourself. Why are you 'mad,' pray tell?"
| Doombringer the DM |
After this was done, he stopped trying to find eternal life for everyone else, and went mad from the corruption of the outsiders and his newfound power. He quite successfully learned ways of fusing not only planes together (such as the material plane with Hell, Abaddon, and the Abyss) but also how to interweave demiplanes in with them as well. You have a feeling that if Acererak had anything to do with the appearance of this island, several things you know for certainty about how magic is SUPPOSED to work... might be different on the island itself. You also find references that going ethereal or astral within this mixture of planes might draw unwanted attention from the outsiders whose worlds have been merged. You THINK that teleportation effects might trigger this as well but... can''t really be sure.

Overhearing Orion's comment on islands moving, Jean removes himself from the group of young recruits he was previously engaged with and scampers over. The large man is surprisingly agile, and his face is blank except for a slight scowl as if in concentration.
From what you describe, I agree. Whatever foulness causes plants to die, faces in rock formations to form and islands to move suddenly is probably what we are being summoned here for, and that many magical effects on such a small island can't be coincidence.

To be fair, this is all very sudden. Those of you who are Pathfinders were told that you would be exploring the island (but haven't been told much else) and those of you who aren't Pathfinders have either been bribed or promised glory or threatened to come here mandrake the job... and likewise you don't know muxhother than it has to do with the big f*ckoff island that just popped out of nowhere. Hell, you don't even know much about this Acererak other than he is a lich who likes his privacy. I'm sure you'll find that this is one big misunderstanding and that he meant to put the island back in its proper place :3 I mean isn't the smiley face a hint as to the fact that he is good aligned!? It's a "hello world" type message.
Or you know, the DM is full of crap.
