Alright, welcome aboard everybody. This section is for OOC discussion etc. I'm going to be going over the characters in the next few days and at least briefly make sure they follow the rules.
Hopefully we can get the characters and their shopping sorted out by Monday or Tuesday and get started in earnest then.
As a note you'll have time to shop after being briefed in Absalom before traveling to Thornkeep, but poor Drandle Drenge doesn't have any useful intelligence for you, so relying on the information from the adventure blurb is pretty much all you'd get.
Also a brief into of yourself would be appreciated.
Ex.
Hi I'm Robert, I'm currently in Iowa and expecting to graduate in May but consider California my home. I play/judge way too much PFS for my own good and should reach my 3rd star by the end of the year. It makes a nice break between applying for jobs.

Thanks for choosing me!
I'm Christopher and I live in Kentucky. Currently I'm sitting in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport en route to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, where I'll be all next week (but am supposed to have good internet access).
I'm just now getting involved in our local PFS scene in Lexington, but I've already become an active judge and player. I'm also GMing a run through #4-01 here on these boards.
Cheers!

Three 2nd level and three 1st level...looks like a nice mix!
My name is Deane...I've been a PbP and PFS enthusiast for about a year now. Although there are more than a few places to participate in PFS events in the New England area my personal and professional responsibilities often don't allow for what would amount to 8 hours away from home on a weeknight or weekend day.
I've adventured with Toren "Stand" Still a few times in the past (albeit with 3 different characters) and am pleased to be sitting at the table with him again. (and I'm sure I'll say the same about the rest of you by the time we're done!)
I'm a fairly active poster; although many times I'm posting from work using my tablet or phone. I will be on vacation at the end of the month for a few days...my posting may be more sparse than normal while I'm out of the country but I should be able to check in at least once each day. I'll remind everyone as the date draws closer.
I'm very excited to be running this dungeon with you...and buying you all an ale at the tavern to celebrate a job well done afterwards!

Thanks for the chance.
My name is Jeremy and though I'm new to PFS and RPing in general. (Just learned of Pathfinder this past summer) I've become an addict. I live in southern Indiana, where there is no PFS to speak of. I currently trying to get something organized in the region. I know everyone in the group as players or GM's, other than Pirate Rob. I read the boards constantly and am never far away from my phone checking on updates.

Brett from Sydney Aust here.
Long time gamer. Been looking at PF since their free Alpha release but didnt get serious about it until 17-18 months ago. Face to face PFS participation is a bit of a challenge for me most of the time (family and work).
I've run one PbP PFS game and am wrapping up another now and am in about 6 other PbP games. I work from home and on-line long hours and seem to be able to manage to cram in a fair whack of time of my hobby.

Going over Barrin Ironhite:
Assuming Barrin Ironhite's favored Class is fighter, he appears to be missing his bonus hp/skill point/other bonus.
HP 10 (Fighter) +2 (Con) = 12.
Skills 2 (Fighter) +1 (Int) = 3 [Climb, Dungeoneering, Swim]
(Although it's possible I missed something as I had to reverse engineer his skill points)
Stone Coat: This weighty breastplate consists of lamellar crafted from stones. It is worn in conjunction with kikko leg protectors.
I presume this is your "Stone Lamellar" It seems to have the right AC/ACP.
If it is something else please let me know where it's from as I'm not familiar with it.
Tunnel Fighter: should be active pretty much the entire scenario as it does take place underground.
Stonecunning: I have made notes near appropriate locations (if any) and will make perceptions checks for you if necessary.

My familiar the Greensting Scorpion. I'll post more details in my profile when I get home from work tonight and have a chance to poke around HeroLab a bit.
I'll double check...but my +6 in Perception comes from a +4 for the first rank, +1 for the second rank and +1 for the Tomb Raider trait (which is from the PFS Organized Play guide.)

I've updated my equipment somewhat. I want to be using a Great Sword but think we have a great opportunity to form a phalanx of sorts and for other times I think a better armor class is called for hence some change in equipment and a shield.
Ive got about 35gp spare and there are no prizes for having spare cash in a module. Any suggestions from anyone on a Paladin scroll? I think an Alchemist Acid gives me an anti swarm one shot
I can also save 10gp changing my Lucerne Hammer to a Long Spear if I need more cash if opinion moves to alchem fire over acid.

Weird I finally found your traits, I swear i searched for them the first time and they weren't showing up.
With them the math now adds up. Don't forget to add your alertness and initiative bonuses when necessary as they aren't included in your stat line.

@ Deane, you can just click on your familiar in HeroLab, then click Output Hero Statblock, then paste in under a spoiler or something. (At least that's what I've done in the past)

Any suggestions from anyone on a Paladin scroll?
As a note, even though level 1 paladins can use wands, they may not use scrolls. -Jason Bulmahn

Going over Arryn Wildblood:
Arryn Wildblood appears to either be missing his racial bonus to CHA or only be built with 15 points.
St 16 + 2(10pts)
Dx 12 (2pts)Cn 14 (5pts)
In 10 (0pts)
Wis 8 (-2pts)
Ch 14 +2 (5pts)

My name's Kiel, I live in La Habra, CA (Orange County). I took a D&D break for about 10 years then got back into it with PF about 2 years ago. Toren's my 2nd char.
I've been at the (virtual) table with Aleister mentioned and it's been a blast playing, and I am sure that this group will be equally as fun.
I might be a little sparse on posting the next couple of days. I am finishing up my reviews of the Top 32 Archetypes in RPGSS, and I still am planning on reviewing every item in the Critique My Item Thread there.
Just as a heads up, Pirate Rob, I like to try to stretch my profession and notice unusual stonework to fit a lot of different things...if it flat out won't work for the specific situation just let me know :) (as an example, I often times set up an impromptu shop to sell gems I've cut, to get NPC's to talk to me and get information not to actually sell them anything).

The Accursed Halls is mostly a dungeon crawl, so not a lot of NPCs to talk to but there is some mining activity going on at least. That said I don't believe profession miner would be of use in gathering information from gem buyers. It would tell you into about a mine or even potentially help influence other miners.
That said (I need a new phrase) I like creative uses of skills and creative problem solving in general.

Yer right! I meant Craft not Profession. I think I put Profession down because I was thinking about your introductory passage!

Pirate Rob |

I'll check the skill points when I can get on the Internet with my computer. Stone lamellar (all the lamellars) is in Ultimate Equipment.
I figured it out. In Ultimate Combat it's called a Stone Coat. In Ultimate Equipment it's called Lamellar (stone). In either case it's the same armor.
No rush on the skill point, it's even possible I'm wrong. Have a safe trip.

Pirate Rob |

Going over Toren "Stand" Still:
I see 2 different sets of ability scores, one in the body and a different one in the ability score boxes. (I'm assuming the one in the body is correct as it lines up with other numbers and is a 20pt buy while the other is like 14pts)
Also I'm slightly confused on Toren's fighting style as I thought Phalanx Soldier didn't let you wield the pole-arm as a 1 handed weapon until level 3.
His HP doesn't appear to have been updated from 1st level.
Also I think he may be missing his favored class bonus, although it's hard for me to tell without the skill ranks listed.
I think he's got HP 10Fighter +3 Con (Should be +9 more for lvl 2 [6+3])
He gets 3 skill points a lvl (2 fighter +1 int) and appears to have 2 ranks each in appraise, craft and profession.
Although his favored class could be something other than fighter etc.

Going over Kardak the Feared:
HP 20 (2d10 + 2 con + 2 FCB)
I get to 22
Lvl 1: 10+2con+1FCB = 13
Lvl 2: 6+2con+1FCB = 9
--
22
===========================
Stats for the Camel would be useful if you're planning on bringing it along although as a warning there are some obstacles that show up pretty quickly that are likely to be quite problematic for the mount so you may not want to bother, especially with a full party of 6. Up to you though.

![]() |

I must've hit cancel instead of save!!
HP (22) and Stats updated.
Skills are +2 Ranks in: Craft(Gemcutting), Profession(Miner), and Appraise. There's my 6 points for skills.
Yep, Level 3 for me to wield that polearm 1 handed. Toren's last resort is his polearm. He would much rather be providing cover and a solid defense line with his shield before attacking. His days as a soldier have left a bitter taste in his mouth when it comes to killing. He will if he has no choice...but he rarely finds that there is no choice.
Favored Class bonus is Fighter and he took the bonus to CMD for Bull Rush and Trip twice (racial favored class bonus for dwarves).

![]() |

And my glaive!
I must admit, I'm a bit nervous about how well Kardak will do on a dungeon crawl. The core of the build (Flat of the Blade deals nonlethal damage which Enforcer turns into free Intimidate checks for long term debuffs) seems much better suited to adventuring in civilized areas, where I can knock people out and turn them over to the authorities, since Flat of the Blade has a "keep 'em alive or else" clause.

I like 'module' style play - it gives you a level outright (if you survive).
I definitely like the idea of a wall of reach weapons - never had enough martial types in a PFS group to make it work and the way Pirate Rob is talking it up, this may well be a tough adventure.
On the Blue Rose thing? Not every pathfinder society session will be urban* etc so just file it under that and having no idea what to expect it may turn out to be very useful.
* I have a few PFS 'themed' characters - I have one that specialises in Blackros modules (having played 3 of them in the 5 sessions he has under his belt atm) and Black Tapestry investigations.
I have another who I am looking at to do Aspis Consortium themed games etc.
You could make characters that stick to certain themes (only works in Absolom etc) - just ask in advance for a few details so you can work out if its a theme you want to pursue with a particular character.

I think I'll buy a couple of Alkali Vials and call it quits...
10 gp left - suggestions? Maybe 1 Alkali and 1 holy water? Other suggestions?

Well Jarlgur never faced danger, I ended up GMing a 2nd table of FS II. I'm gonna apply the GM credit to Jarlgur. So I gonna upgrade some equipment and whatnot. Any suggestions on the PP purchase? CLW, Infernal Healing...

I'd prefer CLW as the evil thing isnt a pallys cup of tea but its your call... I once played a wiz that acted as party healer thanks to a wand of Inf healing - good times.
I am hoping a wall of reach weapons will help

Pirate Rob |

Not a problem at all, should have made that clearer. Once everything's sorted out I'll send you guys into the fray.
With plenty of time to buy things in between the briefing and arriving I saw no reason to wait on Drenge's briefing.
Also if you guys happen to come up with a marching order for a 10ft wide corridor, that would be helpful.

Ok... I am Cold Iron Longsword'ed and Silver Blanch carrying but if any of you have some spare coin, its not a bad idea to invest in some ways of getting thru DR.

I'll take a look on Monday morning when I can get to my char sheets. I can't recall how much gp I have, but Toren's not spent any of his earned coin yet. He's only spent prestige on the wand of CLW. Not sure what, yet, character-wise.

Its as expensive as all get out but I am a HUGE fan of Silversheen - it costs 750gp+ weapon but you get a MW Silvered weapon that doesn't suffer from that -1 damage thing and is immune to rust... If its a bludgeoning weapon? Then its cheaper to buy MW and then just get it Alchemically silvered.

Going over Barrin Ironhite...
Okay, getting settled in here in Mexico.
I've updated Barrin's character sheet to correct that missed favored class point (put it in HP.)
Here's the entry on the lamellar armors from Ultimate Equipment.
Lamellar is a type of armor in which small plates of various types of materials are strung together in parallel rows using fine cord. Lamellar plates can be constructed from lacquered leather, horn, or even stone, though suits of iron and steel are the most common. Lamellar armor can be crafted into various shapes, including partial pieces such as breastplates, greaves, or even entire coats. The properties of specific suits and pieces of lamellar armor are determined by their material.
Lamellar stone cost 500 gp, has a +8 AC bonus, +0 max Dex bonus, -7 armor check penalty, 40% arcane spell failure chance, reduced movement to 20/15 (not applicable to Barrin, of course), and weighs 45 pounds.
In other news, Barrin wants everyone to know he has a Wand of Cure Light Wounds and hopes somebody can use it!

Silversheen price is 250...or am I missing something else? If it IS 750 then I may downgrade to 1...
