Can't use intim/bluff that way in combat. Takes a min of interaction to influence.

Sorry didn't know you were waiting for me... I'm on phone but will do the best I can.

GM G |
Just letting you know: it's your turn and I am out of country until Friday May 1st, don't expect any posts from me until then.

Alabaster Cain |

Yep! Have fun GM! We'll be patiently waiting here for you.
I have to say, this is one of my favorite pbp's, and I'm in quite a few. This group is wicked good and blending just the right amount of roleplaying and system mastery to create interesting and developed characters that also kick ass. I can't wait till we are a little higher in levels and we get to smash things up on our own terms.

GM G |
No problem Edward, I will be traveling back to the Netherlands from Prague, so probably no updates from me (maybe in the morning from my hotel, CET)

GM G |
Quick check-in to let you know that I am still here, will continue later this week. Swamped with work atm. My apologies

Arhiel |

No problem, thanks for letting us know what's up. :)

GM G |
GM is here, getting my games back on track. That I GM'ed the three parts of the Scions of the Sky Key trilogy did not help in my appetite for my PbP games, sorry for that.

GM G |
No problem Isaac. Thanks
What is kind of hard about this campaign for the GM is that it is rather free-form at this stage and you all put in high quality posts that relate to different NPC's. Since I try to answer in a consistent manner for that NPC and want to give a different 'feel' to each NPC that means that I want to think about my answers.
That in no way means I want you to drop the quality of the posts, but is a bit of background why we don't move very quickly at times.

GM G |
Will post the list of people that came with you on the Man's Promise next week, leaving for a camping weekend with my two sons in a few hours.

Lvl 3 gains:
Class: Bard
BaB +1
Fort save +1
HP +7
FCB: +1 spell [cantrip Light]
Spells known:
+1 cantrip: Mage hand
+1 lvl 1: doubting between Charm Person and Chord of Shards.
Feat: unsure, tbd
Would, along with the swashbuckler theme, the following be of use?
Lvl 3(combat expertise), lvl 5 Improved feint
Class ability: Inspire competence +2
Soundstriker class lvl 3:
Wordstrike (Su): At 3rd level, the sound striker bard can spend 1 round of bardic performance as a standard action to direct a burst of sonically charged words at a creature or object. This performance deals 1d4 points of damage plus the bard’s level to an object, or half this damage to a living creature.

I find combat reflexes for opportune parry and riposte important if your swashy splash grants you that feature.
Also spell.choice, chord of shards is a fun spell but only at lower levels since damage is static, may want to swap it out later. Don't find charm person to be as useful as it used to be given in combat restrictions AND our out of combat tight quarters in the ship. I.e. others can see you cast

The lvl 1 spell will be Vanish.
Skills:
Acrobatics +1
Bluff +1
Diplomacy +1
Disguise +1
Intimidate +1
Perception +1
Spellcraft +1
Feat, tbd.
Since, though combat reflexes can be fun, i'm not seeing Edward being a focused frontliner. More the support that can fend off, opposed to joining you stronger lads up close.

I am going in for surgery tomorrow. It is a one-day out-patient procedure but I probably won't post much if at all tomorrow, at least until nighttime... depends on how I feel... bot me as necessary if required. Thanks.

Isaac Silvermane |

I hope it goes well, Arhiel! Just waiting on Alabaster's level up and our GM! Though, GM G can take as much time as he needs.

Alabaster Cain |

Been swamped with games I'm both running and playing. I'll try and get my level up in tonight though.

Arhiel |

Thanks for the well wishes... I am fine and home recovering now. I've felt better, but I'll live! :)

Alabaster Cain |

Tried to level up Alabaster twice today. Paizo ate it once and my surface ate it once. Will level him up tomorrow when I'm at my PC. I already know everything he's going to take, so it's just a matter of scribing it. It's just 1 AM here and I have to work early so I'm about to pass out for the night.
Basically:
7 HP
Fort +1
Ref +1
Power Attack or Extra Panache
Amateur Swashbuckler-Opportune Parry and Riposte or Deadly Aim.
All current skills +1
+1 1st level spell per day.
I'm on the fence about the feats. On one hand, I like the Amateur Swashbuckler/Extra Panache for flavor. However, Power Attack and Deadly Aim are both scaling damage boosts that I will need, especially considering this group doesn't have a fully dedicated frontliner.
Opinions? Thought? Ideas? I'm open to anything.

Alabaster Cain |

I think I'm going to go with Power Attack and Deadly Aim. I already have two other characters with a parry riposte mechanic, and I don't want to get bored.
Also, are we all still here? I know Isaac is on vacation so he may not reply but hopefully we are all still here. I really like this group and this adventure.

Arhiel |

I'm still here... just waiting for an update... and to move on... :)

Is our GM still active? I'm ready to rock and roll.

GM G |
You haven't seen me around for some time for which I apologize. Some three weeks ago my computer broke down and it took about a week to get it repaired.
In that time I also experienced that I had too much on my plate and instead of being honest about that to myself (and you) I dropped the ball and did not resume posting when the technical issues were sorted out. I felt obliged to get back to you, but that became harder with every passing day. I finally have found the courage to get back to the Paizo site.
I have had a lot of fun playing in all the PbP's I have been in, but I feel that I need to take a step back and stop playing online for the time being. It might be that when my work and personal life willl settle down again that I will be back, but I feel I should not promise to posting regularly right now.
I am terribly sorry to let you go, you are a great bunch. For a follow up GM you are right at the start of chapter 3 of the first book.
