"What's this? My ears hear the clatter of dry bones and jangle of rusty mail! Gird your loins, friends. Make sure they are well girded!" Johann tries to talk in a yelling whisper as he continues to lead the group west.

Boga |

Boga sees Johann and Zagathoth rush from his line of sight and immediately hears the clang of metal and crunch of wood. Unable to see any more from his current location, Boga asks, "What is going on? What are they fighting?"

Casting his eyes back at the 'grail' and marvelling at the diabolical ingenuity of the Church of Lucifer, Lucius is caught by surprise when Johann and Zagathoth charge off ahead.
"More foes I imagine brother. But the Lord is with us, we will prevail." With that inspiring thought the Cardinal presses onwards.

Arc Perdu le Rouge |

Few options present themselves, so Arc resorts to his usual tactic against the undead.

Boga |

Round 1
Hearing Zagathoth cry out in pain, Boga rushes forward to see what he can do. He enters the room and gets his first look at the foe: armed skeletons! He quickly sizes up the room and the enemy then presses on to the exit, stopping just before the threshold. He quickly turns and calling upon the Lord, says, "In the name of Christ, be gone! This is your last day on earth!" His halo increases in brightness, his hands appear to glow as he holds them with palms pointed at each enemy. A burst of energy emanates forth, washing over the skeletal soldiers.
Snake style, move 30 feet, channel energy to harm undead (DC 13 Will save for half)
Kn (religion): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Zagathoth |

I was going to protest the assumption that I would cry out in pain... upon further consideration, however, having grown up in the fighting pits I think they would have taught him to play up his injuries to make matches more exciting, so...
Zagathoth raises his arms, puffs his chest, and howls in an exaggerated expression of pain as blood drips down from the wound in his shoulder.

The Ogon Fox |

Still in his fox form, Ogon dashes forward into the room.
With this 40ft move speed I can get around into a flanking position on the south side of Johann's skeleton with a single move action, but I have to provoke an attack of opportunity to do it. Note that my AC is higher at 17 while in this shape.
The little fox maneuvers about to face the skeleton, opposite from Johann. After the skeleton takes his swing at him as he moves into position, the little fox becomes the more familiar kitsune once again.
And that shapeshift is my standard action.
As his fist begins to crackle with electricity, the Ogon Fox calls out, "So which do you think will be the more tempting target for this one, Johann? The Bear or the Fox?"

![]() |

"SURELY THE FOX! EVEN THE DEAD KNOW THAT A FOX IS A TRICKSOME CREATURE!", Johann calls back .

"BWA-HA HA HAGRRRRRGHGHHH!" Only Johann would be able to mix a belly laugh with a growl.
He takes another powerful swing with his quarterstaff.

Antichrist Nero |

At that very moment, a magical alarm is triggered in the chamber where the adventurers skirmish with the undead guardians, alerting the Antichrist Nero in his secret subterranean sanctuary that intruders have entered the outskirts of his underground stronghold...
Interlopers in the Catacombs San Callisto? Be they faithful, or enemies, I wonder...
The Antichrist casts a divination to scry upon the warded area... Gazing into a silver bowl of water, he sees an image of the adventurers battling the skeletal guards...
Seven meddlesome trespassers... my minions and traps will no doubt deal with them appropriately...

Old Mother Hubbard |

Meanwhile, at Old Mother Hubbard’s cupboard...
So let me get this straight, Rumplestilskin... You want my little dog’s bone to use as a material component in creating a magical spoon of sustenance to go in a care package for Johann the Bear? In case he gets hungry while he’s on an important quest for the pope?

Zagathoth |

**round 2**
Zagathoth shifts around the boneman, as the new guy instructed. Fixating on the source of his wound, he nurses his grudge into a desire to destroy the creature, then swings his heavy sword at it again. 5’ step to make room, move action to activate martial flexibility (gaining the Grudge Fighter feat), and one attack.

The Ogon Fox |

Bahahaha thanks for the heavy hint! Team, what say you to luring these skeletons onto that platform in the previous room so that they fall into the pit we avoided?

The Ogon Fox |

I don't know if this will work in character if I just start pretending to be panicked and yell at the whole party to flee for their lives...Johann seems the type not to flee (at least not yet) if I don't have a way to make my true intentions known...and I'm guessing Zagathoth would almost certainly be confused. Thoughts?
