Zagathoth |

We’ll say Johann gets round 1 actions (if he would take any other than readying a bite for the nearest ghast), then his move and missed bite happen on round 2... That makes the most sense, right?
does that mean my actions go off on round 2 also? I don’t think I have anything to do before attacking, so I’ll go whenever that attack happens.

Yes...

Michael Johnson 66 |

Round 1 starts with the ghasts more than a double move west of the party’s front line... LIKE A RAINBOW IN THE DARK

Michael Johnson 66 |

A single ghast double moves toward the party on its turn near the bottom of round 1... POSITIONS
This is why Johann’s move and attack would actually happen on round 2... make sense?

Boga |

Round 1 actions
Boga drops his crossbow and shrugs off his pack, letting it hit the ground. He pulls a scroll from his case and readies himself for combat while carefully eyeing the ghasts and covering his mouth and nose with his sleeve. "These creatures look like the ones in the first room. What are they like?"
Enters Snake Style and pulls the scroll "Hide from Undead"
Kn (Religion): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Boga knows only a very little about ghasts—that they are like ghouls, but more powerful. They can paralyze you with a claw or bite, and they stink really bad...

Arc Perdu le Rouge |

Arc immediately targets the incoming ghast with a spell, hoping to hinder its advances.
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 against Touch AC
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Spell has range of 30ft right now, so Arc would hold it until the enemy came within range rather than close the distance himself.

The ghast is within range...
A thin bolt of positive energy lances forth from Arc’s outstretched hand, searing the ghast’s unholy hide!
NYAAAARRRRGGHH!!!
The ghast collapses in a twitching heap!
One down, three left...
As soon as the near ghast falls, a second ghast seems to break the daze spell of St Cecilia’s harping and rushes east down the corridor to challenge the adventurers...
On the ghasts’ turn in round 2...

Zagathoth |

As soon as the near ghast falls, a second ghast seems to break the daze spell of St Cecilia’s harping and rushes east down the corridor to challenge the adventurers...
Does it reach melee range? And, are we still waiting on the Cardinal and Quinlan to cast or hold their actions before we act again?

I’m linking battle mat pics that show the ghast is coming to within a move action of the party...

The Ogon Fox |

Round 1
The Ogon Fox retrieves one of his scrolls of magic weapon (move action, right?) and casts it on Zagathoth's falchion.
Round 2
The Fox looks at the 2nd oncoming ghast with a steely eye and throws a bolt of electricity at it, doing his best to aim around his allies.

Electricity Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
With all the excitement and the crowded space, the Fox misses wildly.

Quinlan Ifrean |

round 1
As he curses his morning spell choices Quinlan retrieves another flask of holy water and hurls it at a ghast. Holy water: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 miss: 1d8 ⇒ 2 but it splashes across the floor wide left of his target.

Quinlan's second flask shatters against the ghast, and it hisses in torment! HIISSSS!!

Saint Cecilia |

Saint Cecilia continues to play the Gregorian “day of wrath”, dies irae, plucking the ghostly strings of a ghostly harp...

Boga |

Boga runs forward while calling out "O Lord, bless Johann. Guide his fangs and claws as he fights your enemies."
Advances west 15 feet (directly behind Zagathoth). Gives Blessing of the Faithful (+2 attack for 1 round) to Johann.

But you have to love it when your static mod to damage is higher than the maximum roll on your dice hahaha.

Initiative Monkey |

Round 1: Everybody do nothing but talk about ghasts up ahead, ghast #1 runs up, Boga pulls out scroll of hide from undead, Quinlan lobs holy water...
Round 2: Lucius swing and miss ghast, Bear moves up and bites ghast, Fox blasts ghast with mystic bolt, Zagathoth cuts ghast #1 down, Boga casts blessing of the faithful on Johann...
We in round 2, Eek! Eek!

The Fox’s mystic bolt lances into the ghast, felling it!
As soon as the second ghast has fallen, a third seems to snap out of the stupor caused by St Cecilia’s harping and charges down the corridor to take position over its fallen fellows...

It's actually not...not until 3rd level.

In that case, the second ghast is not felled by Fox’s mystic bolt, but by Johann’s defacing bite...
Johann bites the face off the second ghast! It shrieks and collapses...
A third ghast breaks the spell of St Cecilia’s harping and charges up in round 3...

Arc Perdu le Rouge |

Round 2
Arc proceeds to ready his action to cast disrupt undead once again, as firing into melee would be disadvantageous for him.
Round 3
Arc holds the action as many times as necessary to ensure he can fire on the third ghast once it reaches his range.
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 against Touch AC

It is frustrated in its attempt to burst through the front line of Johann and Zagathoth...
