Ghorza, did you already pass your weapon to Zogar? Is it enchanted? Otherwise I'm not sure why giving it to Zogar might help...?
Sorry, I'm a little confused.

JustJacqui |

The idea was for Zogar to get my weapon and the bolts off Nix and take them to the fountain, because you could move before us and I wasn't sure if Nix could even get out of where he was because you were next to him.
But no, I never did actually give it to you, since Nix decided to go off by himself and you finished off the zombie anyway.

Sorry, I came down with the stomach flu and have been noticeably absent.

Re centered the map so it is easier to spy the homicidal dwarf.

Aranthis Drallidur |

Was about to ask about HPs as well.
Also, before I finalize my build for the next level, I want to double check that re-flavoring the Legalistic oracle curse is ok (Found in Player Companion: Blood of Fiends). Benefit is +4 to a die roll that's associated with keeping a vow or promise 1/day , drawback is that breaking your word leaves you sickened for 24 hours or until you make it right.
I like it for Aranthis since she's pretty lawful, and could see it being as much a blessing from Torag as a curse. I hadn't originally planned it as such, but I think it really fits in light of the oath she made in the Temple of Torag they found, since that provides the perfect explanation why she has suddenly been gifted divine powers.
As an aside, did the temple have a forge? I've read that Torag's temples usually do. If it does, then Aranthis will definitely have to plan a trip back down here when it's time to forge her legendary weapons. I'm not sure I could come up with a more perfect place to do so if I tried.

Half +1 on hit points.
You can reflavor so long as the mechanics stay the same. You would have to take a level of Oracle to get the curse though.
There is no forge in the temple below, but there once was one in the city above. Whether or not it remains . . .
Crafting is fine if you want to.
One Important Note:
I allow a full rebuild (including class, race, stats, anything at all) prior to posting your level 2 build, just like PFS rebuild. So, if something is not working how you like, feel free to change it up now.

I haven't leveled a character before, so does half +1 mean we roll and take half the roll or we add half our existing max health +1 or something else?
EDIT The spreadsheet thing I have says that her health should equal 21 at the second level? Is this right?

![]() |

I concur! Excellent way to RP a new class ability into existence.
Half +1 at new levels means that:
4 Hit Points (+ Con Modifier) if your class rolls a d6
5 Hit Points (+ Con Modifier) if your class rolls a d8
6 Hit Points (+ Con Modifier) if your class rolls a d10
7 Hit Points (+ Con Modifier) if your class rolls a d12
You gain slightly more Hit Points per level than average. You never get the amazing rolls, but then again, you never gain 1 Hit Point on a level.
Ghorza has 1 Con of 14, so +2 Con Modifier, and is a d10 class for Hitpoints.
Ghorza should have had 12 Hit points at level 1, maximum possible, and adds 8 Hit Points (6 for d10 class, +2 for Con Modifier) for a total of 20. If you have a feat (toughness, Tribal Scars, for example) that add Hit Points, your total would increase from there.

Aranthis Drallidur |

Yeah, that definitely worked out perfectly! The crit reducing Aran to exactly 0 HP was quite dramatic as well. Really enjoying the story and group so far.
Here's Aranthis at level 2:
Level 2 (Fighter 1/Oracle 1)

+5 HP (5 class)

Class Features:
- Spells Per Day (lvl 1 - 4)
- Spells Known (4x lvl 0, 2x lvl 1 + CLW)

I think wizards can fill slots at any point by taking time to memorize spells as they would in the morning. I know some wizards keep open slots at higher levels for the flexibility.

Zogar Demonsbane |

Sometimes the dice work beautifully to help tell a good story (possibly to make up for conspiring against you at other times). Very nice, Ghorza! I agree, the crit taking Aranthis to exactly 0 hps was dramatic as hell.

By doing this I found out that I was actually supposed to have 13HP (d10 + 2 Con + 1 favoured class bonus) because I only had training in 3 skills instead of 4 (since Pallys have 2 + Int and Ghorza's Int is +1)

COPYPASTA!
Here's Ghorza at level 2:
Level 2 Paladin

Phoenix Holt |

FAH-SHWING:

+1 BAB
+1 Will saves
+7 skill points (2 class + 5 INT)
+1 K (Dungeoneering, Engineering, Geography, Nobility, Religion), +1 Linguistics (Aklo), +1 Spellcraft
Nix now has one skill point in every knowledge skill.

Woot! Looks like everyone is done! Excellent choices all around.

Zogar Demonsbane |

Whoops, I think I'd best chime in here:
Fighter 1/Ranger 1
+1 BAB
+6 hps
New feat: Weapon focus: greatsword
+2 Fort
+5 skill points (2 class, 1 Int, 1 human, 1 fc)
+1 rank in Intimidate, Know:planes, Perception, Stealth, Survival.
I think that's it.

Zogar Demonsbane |

We're going to be stuck at the bottom of the chasm in a pile, aren't we. ;P
*Pictures Zogar breaking his fall on the nice pile of others who also didn't make the climb check, or who got dumped in with his "help"*

Aranthis Drallidur |

Worst is that it looks like poor Phoenix is going to be at the bottom of the pile. At least Flitwing won't be crushed :p

Zogar Demonsbane |

DM, do we get new Climb checks now that the rope is gone? Unless the Scale of Cloudwalking lets Phoenix take us all along, I'm not sure how else we're going to cross the chasm.

![]() |

you have 1 down with the rope. you can try the rope again, or try without. ghorza will have to return with the rope though. you are not being persued, so dont forget the power of taking your time.

![]() |

I am sorry, got bum rushed with three new cases at work that took up all most all my time this last week

Phoenix Holt |

So...Ghorza hasn't posted since March 5th. It could be that she didn't have anything she really wanted to say in the village, but she hasn't posted anything in the last few days either, even after a direct prompt from Aranthis. Should we move on? Wait a bit longer? Use Lann as a friendly NPC to keep the story moving until Ghorza returns or we find a replacement?

Zogar Demonsbane |

Whoops, sorry about the Heroism, I must have misread. Also, Zogar's new AC with the MW chain shirt is 17, and he was charging, so I think the mongrelman might actually have hit him...
I don't know if Ghorza, or Aranthis for that matter, would approve of us coup de gracing the unconscious mongrelman, but attacking the stunned one should be alright...?

Aranthis Drallidur |

I'd definitely prefer not to summarily execute the unconscious. If we can get the defenders to surrender perhaps we can still redeem some of them. If we're acting ruthless it's less likely that some of them will surrender I'd imagine.

I have court 600+ miles from my office on Monday, and hearings 600+ miles away in Spokane, WA on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Huzzah! That means 1200 mile drive Monday Night.
So . . . I will be posting slow as well.
