Feel free to start your character's preliminary "getting to know one another" RP posting in the gameplay thread. Or simply phantom post (post and then delete that post in the gameplay thread so that the scenario shows up on your account's campaign page).
The official start date for this game, and the rest of Outpost, is March 5th, so if you have nothing to say until then that's fine too.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually tested the link too before I sent it out....
Maybe, we should start on the 4th (or as they call it in Australia the 5th), or push the date back until the 6th. I have a feeling the website is going to be especially frustrating on March the 5th.
EDIT New links sent to those folks who aren't here yet.

Alright, everyone is here(ish), so some things to discuss.
1. Raimdol had to bow out, and Theodic is in.
2. Marching order. It's more or less there to figure out who the trap hits and which character the lurking monster picks off from behind. So please reply and fill out the following (Smiler too, *waves back*), and no you can't all be in the 3rd spot.
MARCHING ORDER

Banon
|
Durvak or Monterey seem the obvious choice for front line, and Banon is comfortable guarding the back and moving to assist where needed.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Speaking (again) of Smiler, (*waves again*) generally, I treat familiars and animal companions as their own thing in initiative (they can be flat-footed, or not, react as they are trained, whatever). Animal companions might not be able to do anything until their partner gives them a command (basically delay until the master's turn) though that depends upon what they have already been commanded to do as well. For instance, a companion set to guard his master will do so if an attacker appears, and so on, even if the master is still flat-footed.

3. Theodic

Durvak Stoutheart
|
Durvak is good for the front. He even has a 10ft pool to use if he gets tired of setting traps off with his face.
I do tend to turn the ground into an explosive at times, so if I bend over and touch the ground...I suggest you don't step there. ;-)
Blast Rune (Sp): As a standard action, you can create a blast rune in any adjacent square. Any creature entering this square takes 1d6 points of damage + 1 point for every two cleric levels you possess. This rune deals either acid, cold, electricity, or fire damage, decided when you create the rune. The rune is invisible and lasts a number of rounds equal to your cleric level or until discharged. You cannot create a blast rune in a square occupied by another creature. This rune counts as a 1st-level spell for the purposes of dispelling. It can be discovered with a DC 26 Perception skill check and disarmed with a DC 26 Disable Device skill check. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Volar Loken
|
I'm happy with the way you run things for Smiler. His default command is to Heel (follow) unless Volar commands him otherwise.
If you're ever unhappy with actions for Smiler please let me know and i'll modify. I'm not the kind of player that treats an animal companion like another character though so i think we should be fine. :)
Volar is quite slow thanks to his armour so i'm happy being 2nd where (hopefully) most of the action will be. Smiler will stick with his Human Companion. At least he is a bit faster so can run around where needed.

MARCHING ORDER
1. Durvak
2. Volar
3. Smiler
4. Theodic
5. Monterey
6. Banon
Side note: Often times when the party moves through areas large enough to accommodate I will put folks in a side-by-side formation (in this case two rows of three). Allowing people in the number 1 and 2 positions to trigger dangerous traps and ambushes simultaneously.
Feel free to debate the above line-up (there's still a lot of time before March 5th). Whatever the marching order is it is not set in stone, but it will be my default if no one specifies otherwise (i.e. for scouting or trap disarming).
Monterey~
|
I'm good with it. Monterey is fast for a gnome (or average for a human).
Durvak Stoutheart
|
Durvak, have our characters met before?
Yep. We did confirmation and rise of the goblin guild together.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Volar, we may have discussed this before, if so remind me, but are you still 2nd level? I ask because the minimum level for this game (for this convention anyhow) is 3rd.
Volar Loken
|
Volar is certainly third level so we're all good there. I've had a lot of GMing to do recently for my local lodge and home games so I've not had the chance to update him. I'll get that done this evening when i get home from work. :)
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
If you need until the 5th that's fine, I just wanted to know before we got too close.
Monterey~
|
Monterey is good to go!
Banon
|
Going to be working on catching up tonight, should be good to go.
Volar Loken
|
Volar and Smiler are both ready to go now. I was debating with purchasing some items for Volar but i couldn't decide so i'm just going to wait for now.
Banon
|
How is the barbarian ranger mix working?
Haven't seen it in much play, but good so far. Ran him in a home game, didn't get much use out of the wand access thanks to low resources. Then we TPKed on a ogre. :P
Banon
|
We rolled a new team, but the group petered out before we finished the adventure, so I brought both characters over to play in Core Society. And then Core kind of fell off in Phoenix, so they have just languished.
Theodic
|
Don't feel bad, the same kinda happened in Albuquerque. The Society tried to re-establish this past summer but the way it was set up only the in crowd would find out about games and they self destructed.
Banon
|
Apologies for not mentioning it sooner, but the motel for our stay at Disney has been difficult about wifi, so I'm sparingly using my phone's hot spot. Will be home again tomorrow night and have better access.
Volar Loken
|
I'm going to a convention this weekend that starts tomorrow and runs until sunday night. This afternoon and evening i need to finish off my prep for Solstice Scar multi-table special, so i'm going to be very busy from now until monday.
Please feel free to bot my character and i'll be pack posting around monday lunchtime UK time. See you all then!
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Before tea, and after 11sies got it. ;)
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Volarbot strides confidently into the befouled library, and begins grabbing and eating as many different fungi as possible to see if it is safe for the rest of the group. ;)
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
By the way, feel free to use this thread for "table talk," or to discuss meta-things, out of character things, or funny things to do botting Volar while his player is away. ;)
Banon
|
Banon plays Yakety Sax as accompaniment. Badly.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
And (belatedly) Passover!
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Yep.
