Whispering Hollow is a remote and secluded region of this world. Within its mistshrouded interior lies the treasures of Laevatyn, the Dragonsire. Now, brave adventurers have finally dared delve into the remote and unexplored wilderness and strike at the heart of this forbidden land.
Will it be you who claims the dragon's hoard? Or will you fall to your enemies and the beasts who roam the land?
---
The Wars of Whispering Hollow is an adventure where each character plays the role of not a king, but of simply a leader of a single forward base.
Instead of building a full blown kingdom, each player maintains a garrison within Whispering Hollow.
The PCs each maintain their own garrison, complete with commoners and craftsmen as well as elite troops that can be dispatched to complete objectives and quests.
---
Each PC seeks the dragon's hoard for their own reason. This will be left up to each PC to determine in their character background.
This campaign is homebrew so no need to provide Golarion themed backgrounds. Simply a character description and background as to your reason.
This campaign begins at 1st level but uses the fast track experience.
Combat will NOT be done using battle maps.
Each player should have a hex map and be ready to copy down information/fill in the map as they explore.
Players will engage in combat quite often and diplomacy will take shape with locals first and later on with opposing players.
---
PCs will begin at 1st level, 25 point buy, 2 traits, 1 drawback maximum, average starting gold.
You may choose any core race and class. If you want a unique race, ask first.
The campaign prologue will introduce the garrison rules as well as the reason you all are aware of each other before heading into the Whispering Hollow.

This is the nine's entry for a charector, the background is of course a bit alterable, but how does a low noble born turned adopted mercenary leader sound to you. The drawback was a sort of Homebrewed one, let me know if you accept it and would be willing to let me take the 3rd trait for it, if not im cool with just leaving it in for rp reasons.

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Upon hearing about the existence of a vast dragon's hoard, Calaster saw before him both a grand adventure and a wonderful opportunity. With the vast wealth that he would gain, he could seek to purchase a land and a title with which to create a city of learning wholly dedicated to the study, application and cooperation of both the arcane and martial arts that have opposed each other for so long.

I really like this pvp concept. Very interested in getting involved.
Here is my character:
Bleek Ungerbok is a playful, carefree chap. He doesn't care much for the law but wants to do what is right. He grew up in a small village, helping the sick and old. While venturing out into town to procure the herbs he needs to help the sick, he came across a merchant that befriends him. Merchant is a very wealthy man and over a course of several years, they became good friends. Also during this, Bleek fell in love with the Merchant's daughter, the beautiful Alhandra Balistar. Alhandra is also fond of Bleek but they have never confessed each others love. Bleek knows that Alhandra is used to the luxury of a rich family and he has very little to offer her in comfort. The merchant and his family is also a well known family and have many merchants and noble men in line for Alhandra.
While treating an old man in his village, he tells him of this dilemma. The old man tells Bleek of the Dragon's Hoard.
Bleek knows finding the Dragon's Hoard means he can help many more people, not just village and at the same time earn a name for himself and the wealth necessary to provide Alhandra with the comforts she is used to.
Name: Bleek Ungerbok
Class: Cleric

Whoops, got so caught up in other things I forgot about dotting here. Hope it's not too late to slip in for consideration.
Rhiannon Mableanbh is a noble-turned-bard who fled from her life of comfort to see the world and adventure. Except instead of whimsy and excitement, she found life on the road tiresome and the lowly work for hire a wandering songstress could find lacking in a certain fulfillment. Her spoils feel empty, and she desires glory more than gold. There is none of that to be found in dingy taverns and singing for a group of adventurers who believe that simply cutting through a goblin camp will make them heroes.
Word of the hidden treasure reached her ears, and she scurried back home, a scion who returned not in disgrace, but with the promise of riches for her royal family. As the niece of a wealthy duke, she talked her way into acting as the commander of a garrison, owing to her knowledge, natural leadership skills and charisma, and ability to enhance those who stand by her side with her song. To her, the treasure is a secondary goal--though not by any means unimportant--compared to merely accomplishing some deed that will immortalize her in song. Of course, finding whatever hidden treasures or perhaps even lost relics and works of art lie in the horde is its own temptation, and while her own goals are far less greed motivated, she can't say the same for her family. Her uncle's funds and men are granted to her only on the assumption that she can bring back a greater fortune.

Well, seeing as there's been only five applications I'm loathe to refuse someone so I'll accept Rhiannon, Bleek and Thorin as well. A five person campaign will also mean a lack of a 2 v 2 split in any case and hopefully push the story along further.
I'll get the basic introduction set up in the Campaign Info tab and I'll start the first gameplay post tonight.
Congrats to everyone, and here's to a fun campaign!
