Level 1 for starting. 20 pt buy. 1 trait, campaign traits are allowed. I won't make you be NPC classes, but it did cross my mind. :P
Know that your XP will partially carry over to newer characters you make as your old ones die to represent the collective experience that the whole Regiment is collecting. Thus, you may be making 2nd or 3rd level characters in the future and have to write up the horrors they have faced on the line to justify their battle experience.
So we're actually at PC power level with our characters. Cool, I was expecting like, 10 point buy with NPC classes only or something. That give us a lot more options.
I'm going to approach this like Dark Souls. Go melee first and after I do 80 times maybe switch to some other stuff.
It sounds like guns are simply a no go for now considering how expensive they are.
Gameplay is open for dots. You do not need to have a specific alias for this phase of the adventure, but if you wish to do so, you may. If you choose not to, make sure to include some kind of identifier early in each of your posts so we can keep everyone straight.
Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1
Ok, Nearly Nameless has been redone as a paladin. I pretty much just copied from one of my old characters. My one special request would be a tower shield.
One generic alias might be a good way to go, which specific character you are playing at the moment could be marked as subtext, such as being listed in the race or class fields, so it appears directly under your generic alias.
Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1
Do remember that while after 10 posts you cannot change the name of your alias, you can always change the avatar. That's how I intend to generally represent what my character looks like, while all of my posts will look like this.
Viktor the Human Paladin
Viktor walked into the barracks, casting about for the captain. He grabbed the shoulder of a nearby soldier. "Have you seen Captain Roderick?" With a nod and a grunt, he went in the direction the soldier indicated.
Male Flowing Monk| HP 9/12 AC 16 |PerC +6 |Init +4 F+3/R+6/W+4
Agh, I just saw it now, and when everything was open, I assumed you were taking all comers. I'll go back there and wait at the end of the line like a champ.
I'm going through so many character concepts so fast, it's kind of embarrassing. I belive I've settled now, though. Would you mind if I took a page out of PFS' book and substituted Spell Focus for my Scribe Scroll bonus feat?
Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1
What are the limits for the one item you bring? Specifically, how much can it cost? My munchkin half tells me that if we can bring any armor I should just bring full plate, but I assume that's an unreasonable request.
Think of yourself as the average man who has just joined the army. If your family has a set of full plate, it would probably be an heirloom and something too valuable to the family to take into actual combat. Let's say you have about 200 gold, which represents your family's best efforts to supply you for the front.
Alrighty, checking in myself. Probably going to do something out of occult, probably another kineticist. I really like that class. Probably just cycle through the various ones.
Sticking with my gender alternating, This one will be:

And by extension in game terms, any atypical race restrictions? One assumes Core races are all fine, and Featured races from ARG are usually kosher with most GM's these days, but each calls their own shots, of course. And what about Uncommon Races (other than the strange and mysterious habit cheesy combinations have of getting targeted first by our enemy...)
The entire world is a majority human, but the others are all ok. Featured and uncommon are fine. The impact of this war on their populations is, in fact, a reason for their extreme rarity in the world after this war.
Backstory: He got drafted, although he tried to forge a document vouching that he was exempt. A bit of a sleazy fellow, he ran a pawn shop before this. Figured magic was a good way for him to defend himslf without getting his hands dirty, so he paid to learn it. Good with numbers.
Merry christmas, fellow europeans! I understand it doesn't really count untill tomorrow in America, yes?
male Human Code name: "Black out" (soon to be Lasombra 9th generation)
