Flynn retreats back to the cave entrance, feeling another huge clubbing blow at the back of his neck. Though darkness was closing in, that blow brought with it a flash of blinding, agonising white light.
Sk-y... he croaks, spitting up blood. Skyfall! he manages to shout with a huge amount of effort. To me!
Sky perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
But in the howling wind of the canyon, he doubts his words can be heard

Lenneth Barlow |
Now seeing that Flynn is badly hurt, Lenneth steps to him as he comes staggering towards the cave entrance. So much had changed but there was one thing that hadn't. As she reaches out to touch his shoulder and feels the power flowing through her fingers she thanks whoever might be listening that at least her powers of healing had remained.
Cure Serious Wounds (Flynn): 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 7 = 19
All the while the ghostly chain continues trying to slow the undead beast down...
Chain of Perdition (Trip): 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 3 = 25

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Flynn receives the healing spell very gratefully.

Did Skyfall hear me? If not, Flynn will keep trying

That undead thing will be back up in less than a minute. I bought us some time is all. Lets regroup, heal up, and try to track down that caster. Moving to Flynn Lilith offer I can help close your wounds but I must call on powers I learned of in Cheliax. Would you have it? If Flynn is ok with it Lilith casts Infernal healing on him. Fast Healing 1 for 10 rounds.

Lilith, I feel like my insides are broken glass. Give me what you got. he says without hesitation, taking her hand in support.
The feeling that spreads through his is not warm and wholesome as it had felt when Lenneth had healed him previously but cold and merciless, like he had stepped out into a frigid wind. He wonders briefly if this was how the undead felt but pushes to it one side as his wounds gradually close.

After casting the Infernal healing spell Lilith casts Dancing Lights and sends the 4 resulting gloves dancing into the corner of dark cavern. Lets move.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

You hear groaning and thumping from the depths of Lilith's summoned pit.
There is silence from the corner of the corridor where it leads off in to the depths...
1 round passed...
Did Sky hear me?

Feldus Roni |

I forgot to roll for Feldus' False Life earlier so here goes: False Life: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 temp HP.
Feldus stays near the entrance trying to sniff for any signs of the Way cultist, yet the overpowering stench of the undead giant defeats his efforts. Not bothering to waste his breath here he simply nods and readies his blade, padding silently behind the others.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

She must be up above the storm. I hope she's ok...
Still gripping his longsword, Flynn heads forward with the rest mindful of the giant that is about to raise back to the surface in less than a minute

![]() |

Lilith is looking for that spell caster. I hope the light show her something. We can all be ready to take out the undead giant when the pit duration ends too.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

If there are no more giants around I think we should stay, deal with the spellcaster and have our fighters surround the pit to take out the giant when it comes back up.
I think while that giant is down we've got the advantage because I'd be quite wary of backing off and then the spellcaster having a giant meatshield between them and us

Melo |

Sorry for the delay! Been away two days for work I expected I could post but I had no time at all. I'm back and ready to get back in it.
With a few moments to breath Melo places a hand on his injured shoulder and channels healing energy into it, his bones remind and his muscles sew its self back together.
CMW: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 8) + 7 = 23
"I can heal you Flynn, but I won't have anything more left. I'm also too weak to shift again." He steps next to Flyn and channels healing energy into his friend.
CMW: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (6, 3) + 7 = 16
"Let's deal with this giant first, and then that caster." He steps closer to the pit.

Lenneth Barlow |
Assuming we have enough time, this is Lenn's standard action for the remaining round before the pit disappears.
"Well, if we're going in further then let me help patch you up a little more Melo," Lenneth whispers as she places a hand on Melo's shoulder.
Cure Moderate Wounds (Melo): 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 = 10

GM Fiendish |

As you gather around the pit and wait for the giant to come back to the surface, Lilith's lights reflect off a small pebble as it skitters across the floor and comes to rest, oddly having made no noise. It spins and comes to a rest, before erupting in a fiery explosion the washes over all of you, funneling down the narrow cave corridor and out in to the air outside...
fire damage: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 6, 5) = 22 (Reflex DC 14 half)

Valex |

relfex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
I presume that evasion applies...
As the pebble skitters into view, Valex, warned by what intuition he does not know, shouts "Down!" as he spins to the wall, burying his face in his shoulder against some irregularity of the passage as the flames wash over them.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Reflex with adaptable luck: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 = 12 Nope
Thanks for the healing guys but back to square one now :)
Flynn tries to dive for cover but feels the searing heat scorch his back.

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Lilith also dodges the fire and moves towards where she thinks it must have originated.
Lilith was not going to wait at the pit's edge for the undead to come up. She was focused on finding the caster. Unsure of the size of the area but she does not want to be so close to the group that everyone would be in a 20' radius.

Lenneth Barlow |
Reflex (DC 14): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Lenneth emits a silent shriek of pain and surprise as the pebble explodes, engulfing everyone in fire. Swearing, she negates her silence spell and moves to spread out as best as she can from the others.
"Dammit! Spread out if you can, make it harder for whoever they are to catch us all like that again!" she calls as she peers into the darkness beyond for signs of the pebble-thrower.
______
Don't forget, Lenn has darkvision now :)

GM Fiendish |

As Lenneth negates her silencing magic, you hear high-pitched laughter around the corner, disappearing off in to the distance.
The magic on Lilith's pit begins to fade and the undead giant begins its ascent.
One round of actions each before it gets back up.
Lilith, as you peer around the corner your dancing lights illuminate a twisting and rough natural stone corridor that runs for 50 feet or so then takes a sharp turn.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

I have nothing to do in that round other than ready an action to strike!

Feldus Roni |

As the pit begins phasing out of existence, Feldus again tries to manipulate the tendrils of necromatic energy that bind it to unlife...
Use Command Undead against the undead giant. Will Save DC 12 to resist.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Readied attack: 1d20 + 10 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 4 - 2 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 6 + 4 = 20

Valex |

know/rel: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
If Valex identifies the giant, he'll start a performance/naturalist to give everyone a +1 attack and damage.

I don't think there is a will save IF the undead is non-intelligent, as regular zombies are.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
something was not right about that fireball spell. Lilith recounts as she begins to cast another spell. It was more like it was an item than a spell. Maybe a fire bead. I have heard of such things. That could mean we do not face a caster at all. She points to herself and then points down the passage and completing her spell vanishes. Her lights flash ahead of her down the passage.
Lilith casts Vanish and moves down the passage.

For my own benefit more than anything

GM Fiendish |

Feldus: think you might have missed my previous post, you'll need to beat SR 15 for your necromancy spell to overcome the pre-existing effect (Tar-Baphon's curse) animating it
Lilith disappears around the corner.
You notice no traps or other obstacles until the corridor opens up in to a giant cavern. There is a single spindly 5' wide bridge of rock spanning between the near and far sides, and halfway over the 100' span, a robed humanoid is hurrying across.
Valex notes that aside from its sheer size, the giant zombie is just that, a larger than normal zombie but a zombie nonetheless, with the associated strengths and weaknesses.
Flynn's strike is true as the giant once again stands on the corridor floor, and a gaping hole appears in its side.
You are up, then it gets a go, presuming Feldus doesn't wrest control of it.

Feldus Roni |

OK sounds good GM Fiendish. Maybe post that in the Campaign tab so I rememberz the next time? :P
Feldus feels the curse of undeath resisting his power and attempts to overcome it...
SR check DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
...and feels a sense of relief as he succeeds. Quickly he sends a imple command to it: Hold!

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Going to wait to see the result of Feldus' spell before I start hacking away

![]() |

Unsure of scale here but Dimension Door can carry Lilith 680 feet. Can that place her blocking the bridge on the far side of the cavern? The bridge is 5' wide so is the creature traversing it moving carefully or at normal speed?

GM Fiendish |

Feldus feels resistance, but like breaking the surface tension of water, his magic overcomes the curse animating the giant. It towers over the party... but stands still and doesn't move...

![]() |

Then Yes, lets do that.
The dancing lights flash forward to better illuminate the figure. With a quick word Lilith shifts in space and finds herself on the other end of the bridge. For a moment she is disoriented, but quickly is ready to act. Still invisible, she studies the approaching enemy.
