Norrin Axebeard |

After ushering the rest of the group into the darkness of the giant skull, Norrin poses briefly in front of the giant skull, wile holding aloft his magic sword.
By the power of Greyskull, the half-orc intones silently, thus reaffirming the covenant between Norrin and the swordwraith to continue the crusade against the unjust.

Rev DM |

Such a Norrin thing to do.
Njall's expression as the party reappear is a thing to behold. Swiftly counting heads, he looks hard at Anri.
"You're vouching for her? She doesn't smell like undead, but this is Skull City. I see you've lost the girl in the mask. A pity. She was a fine scrapper."
One does not simply walk into Skull City and buy rituals. One does one's best with what the Skull Breaker's have to offer and awaits better days. The Skull Breakers do have a lot of loot picked up over the years and will certainly be prepared to trade out what you don't want for things you may like better. Said loot includes rituals, but not for every occasion. Tell me what you want.

Lyan Hurzin |

Could really use some upgraded armor -- mine is level-11. Warplate (16-20) would be ideal, but gith plate (11-15) with a useful property (Stoneborn?) would still be a help. Another high priority is a Ring of Mental Power (14).
Edit: Also wouldn't balk at anything else on the wishlist, or course!

Rothel Nelis |

Never been a big fan of the shopping/what gear do I need portion. I always settle for the "use what I find if it's helpful" method. There isn't anything I know I would want or need. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know, otherwise Rothel isn't looking for anything.

Rev DM |

Njall listens as the long tale unfolds, nodding occasionally.
"You've rid the world of a mighty evil, but I doubt our service here will end. Skull City remains an abomination. Word of Moghadam's demise will reach them eventually, but that just leaves a power vacuum. Where will you go next?"
You can upgrade your armour Lyan, and Anri can have a fancy dagger of some kind. I'll take a look at your wishlists as well.

Rev DM |

I've done a quick and dirty countback. You have around 600,000gp worth of assorted loot and artifacts you can trade with between you. You can use that to upgrade existed stuff you own by paying the difference between the current level and the new one. You can go up to level 20 for kit. If you want to trade in existing items, do it at 50% rather than the shop-keeper 20%. The Skullbreakers feel considerable kinship.

Norrin Axebeard |

"Njall, would you happen to know a reputable weaponsmith in the area?" Norrin scans the crowd for the telltale apron of a blacksmith.
Rather than pick from the loot, I'd like to see if there's any means to reforge my Sunblade +3 into a Radiant Rapier +4.

Rev DM |

You can do that.
Njall looks at the Sunblade and calls to a lanky eladrin woman with telltale blisters on her fingers.
"Anastrianna, can you help here?"
She sniffs slightly, and take the blade from Norrin, holding it to the fire and running expert fingers over the weapon.
"Sun to Radiant is easy. Can fix the hilt too. Getting loose up there. You'd never know til it breaks."

Norrin Axebeard |

"Guess I got so used to the wobbly hilt, I stopped noticing," remarks the rogue as he receives the improved blade from Anastrianna.
Taking a few steps back from any bystanders, Norrin tests the balance of the weapon, by attacking the air.
"Superb," is his verdict, finding the blade more lighter and accurate than he could ever imagine.
125000 - 21000 = 104000 GP is the price difference between the old Sunblade and the new Radiant Rapier.
"There was eladrin named Mindressa, who was one of the unwilling guardians of Moghadam's tomb. After a slight misunderstanding, she was freed of her enchantment. And after informing us of her desire to war against Moghadam and his kind, was told she could find comrades amongst the Skullbreakers."
"We can vouch for her, too, in the event she's waiting in some kind of holding room."

AnriTheWanderer |

Oh yes. Most definitely. Anri's going to trade out her old-fashioned Fluid Ki Focus (15 GP)/Plain Jane +4 Magic Dagger (22,500 GP), for a Fluid Ki Focus (30 GP)/+4 Ki Weapon Dagger, (85,000 GP). If there is more money left in our Pool after other people have made their purchases, she may get other items she's considering. That and, trading in the Staff of Storms (62,500 GP) and her current Stormwalker's Cloak +3 (12,500 GP) for a Stormwalker's CLoak +4 (125,000 GP). This brings her total usage of Party wealth up to 112,515. Any objections to my expenditures?
Anri spins the Staff of Storms in a well-practiced, but basic routine. After explaining briefly how she came to find herself in this mess, with asides here and there to the shopkeeper about what she wants, she comes to:
"...Well, as you can see, I know my way around a fight. In any case, yeah, the staff is quite nice. But it's just not my style. I'm more of a dagger-swift-as-the-wind kind of girl. So! Do you have something I can use?"

Lyan Hurzin |

No problem by me, Anri. I left 1,000, Norrin left 16,000, and you left 7,485. Pending Lisbarr's ritual shopping and Rothel's coming across of stuff, we're 24K+ to the good as a party.
EDIT: And I have a borderline-epic artifact weapon and level-20 armor, so I don't need to be any greedier!

Lyan Hurzin |

This was going to be an edit, but ninjad by Rev:
On reflection, some good consumables might be of general benefit with some leftover cash. On the healing side:
Potion of Vitality is 1000, good for 25hp and a save.
Paragon Potion of Regeneration is 4200, good for regen 10 while bloodied TEOE.
Potion of Cure Critical Wounds is 5000 and good for 3d8+20, even if out of surges.
At least a few Potions of Vitality would be a good investment, I think.

Lyan Hurzin |

Reason I asked is for purposes of leftover cash. Barring objection, I'd propose 2 potions of Vitality each and a potion of CCW for someone -- probably Lisbarr -- to carry, leaving us 9K to the good as a party, plus whatever of the remaining portions Lisbarr and Rothel don't spend.
And, I apologize, but you know what my memory is like (or at least I think I've told you). What are our obvious options? I didn't see a summary in recent pages, and don't have a good keyword search. Thanks.

Rev DM |

Quite reasonable :)
With the downfall of Moghadam, you have put an end to any threat from Skull City in the greater scheme of things. As Njall has said, there is still work to do, but for him and his troops rather than for you.
One thing was very clear. The ancient Tomb of Horrors was revitalised and then drained. That it was drained by Acererak seems certain, but for what fell purpose it yet unclear. Thus far, you have identified sites in the Shadowfell and on earth - as well as a known site in the Feywild. All three were channeling enormous power. Where that power has gone and what it might be used for seem to be the next questions to be answered.
Njall listens intently as you describe your adventures so far and makes a suggestion.
"Can that blade you found help?"
He nods respectfully at Ruinblade.
"There are teleportation circles here. They'll get you out of Skull City, but they're not set up for planar travel. We'll have to create a diversion for you as well, but that's our problem."
In response, Ruinblade speaks, its tones oddly overlaid with those of your lost companion.
"My purpose is to find and destroy Acererak. He is not on this plane. I would know it. Take me to Sigil and let the hunt begin."
"Can't get you to Sigil," comments Njall, "but I can get you to Freeport. You might find help there."

Norrin Axebeard |

I second the purchase of a Potion of Cure Critical Wounds.
Is there PoLand equivalent to Candlekeep in the Forgotten Realms where we could seek some knowledgeable scholars?
–EDIT– Whoops, crosspost. "As a scholar myself, I know that there are plenty of experts, as well as expert thieves, in Freeport."

Rev DM |

"Right." Njall looks thoughtfully at Norrin. "You could be right there."
"So, we'll take a small skirmish party down to the docks for you. Ready?"
I imagine that everyone is completely aware of my acute levels of frustration and guilt for messing you all about for months now. I do not technology love.

Norrin Axebeard |

Don't worry about it.
Norrin hands Anastrianna some sketches for improving the defences of the Haven, many of the suggestions incorporating parts the half-orc had scavenged from the defunct Tomb of Horrors.
"With a replenished supply of Dimber's, and food, I'm ready to set sail."

Lisbarr Gorrowsel |

Lisbarr considers.
I have heard of much that is bad in Freeport but also much that needs to be put right in Sigil. I will go where I will do the most good to my kind. It may be that my destiny doesn't lie in Freeport. I need to be where I can fight evil most effectively. What would you suggest I do?

AnriTheWanderer |

"Oh yeaaaah! I was drunk and hearing stories about Sigil in Freeport when I got dropped on you guys! ...if I find those sailors, I'm going to instruct them on the ancient secrets of my sensei, and his dread Tai Kwan Leep technique. It is meant only to be used against those who've performed extremely annoying misdeeds."
Anri cracks her knuckles at the thought of it.

Rev DM |

I have returned. I have a functioning computer. Life is a little less hectic. Ready to go and trash Freeport as you look for your world-demolishing chum Acererak?
Njall looks speculatively at Anri.
"Care to share some of those techniques?"
Note to all. Lisbarr is planning to move on in Freeport. Is anyone else a ritual caster?

AnriTheWanderer |

Welcome back! Also: For a full show of the technique in action, go here :D
"Well, they're very simple really...step one is that they annoy you. Step two is secret technique: Boot-to-da-head!"
If you blink, you miss it, as her foot strikes out at an invisible target, and just as quickly returns to her side.
"I might be willing to teach it, IF you have someone whose inner balance is capable of wielding such a powerful technique."

Rev DM |

Njall gathers a small team and leads the way to a formerly prosperous square. Ducking through back alleys and dodging around the murderous inhabitants of Skull City, he rapidly deploys he snipers to cover the area and points to the dusty teleportation circle.
The thing stutters into reluctant life as your presence is detected, followed almost at once my a flurry of missiles and shouts from the approaching enemies.
"Get going. That thing won't hold up long. We may meet again," he calls, before returning to the burgeoning skirmish.
The portal awaits.

Rev DM |

The smog-filled air and undead screams fade away abruptly to be replaced by bright sunlight and a profound stink of decaying fish. The portal drops you in a back alley, sputters and vanishes, leaving your briefly dazzled.
A swift inspection of your surrounding reveals a rubbish heap, a dead end, a rough wooden door and an exit into a wider street. From the street end, you can just see the glint of water and can assume that the docks lie beyond. From behind the gate, you can hear voices raised in conversation.
