Vailis |
The summoned augmented lemure keeps attacking the kobold in front.
Claw 1+flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
S/B damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw 2+flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
S/B damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Vailis moves to the front, provoking an attack of opportunity from the kobold if the lemure did not drop him with his claws.
He then moves his hands casting daze in order to stop the blue kobold in front of Theadric and Melon.
Will DC 15, mind-affecting, max 4 HD
Maximillian Arcos |
Maximillian advances 15 feet while dropping his bow and drawing his longsword. He then directs a powerful blow at the kobold across the sewer channel.
MW Greatsword + Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 = 18
GM Baerlie |
The lemure continues to attack the kobold between itself and Vanya. This time the claws hit only the floor and the wall. When the kobold sees Vailis move away he tries to hit him with the shortsword, but this kobold does not seem to see well in the darkness. Vailis's spell hits the blue Kobold unprepared and it's mind clouds.

Melon the Roc |
Seeing as Red's down I'll go ahead and post Melon's round 4 actions:
Fly: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Melon stays in the air and attacks the remaining kobold again.

Her bite's accurately aimed, but her claws are just flailing about.
Dylara Yssal |
Same for Dylara:
Dylara moves past most of her allies, toward Melon and Theadric. She draws her longsword while moving.
Vailis |
Vailis lemure moves forward looking for more enemies and sets himself below the flying Melon.
The half-elf instead raises his crossbow and shots at the creature "Surrender!"

Theadric pokes the remaining kobold with his lance, but misses. Sam shoots a bolt at the kobold, but the bolt hits the big rock behind the pit. Vanya moves closer to the injured kobold.
Round 4 actions
Melon attacks the kobold again and bites the creature. Dylara also moves further down the sewer tunnel while the lemure follows her. The summoner shoots an arrow at the kobold, but the arrow hits the wall behind the creature.

Vailis |
Vailis dismisses the lemure before it can kill any kobold. Then he tries to stabilize the creature.
Heal: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
And searches the bodies for anything of interest "We have to respect their life, but perhaps they have some hint on how to advance safely"
He then looks around "Ok, one of this should be the gate with the rope. Let's look for one of them. Or I can just cast feather fall so we descend all at the same time over the Gurva. What do you think?"
Vailis helps the others test the gates to discover which one has the rope.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
GM Baerlie |
Vailis stabilizes the kobold and looks for the knotted rope. The rope exists and is tied to the gate east of the pit. Unfortunately the gap in the gate is big enough only for small creatures.
The floor in the alcove is somehow connected to the boulder, if a human-sized creature steps on it the boulder is released and rushes down the sewer tunnel.
Vailis |
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
"This gap is just too small..." Vailis scratches his hair as he looks at the fully motivated Theadric "Perhaps we can try to make the gap bigger, I would not like to send something alone through it..."
Are the other gaps without rope lager?
If someone tries to, Vailis helps make the gap bigger.
Strength aid: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Vailis |
"Ok, let's see if you like this option. We cam remove the gates and I can cast feather fall in up to 4 of us. Theadric can take the rope gate, and Melon can just fly down. What do you think?" says Vailis, supporting himself against the sewer walls.
Maximillian Arcos |
"That idea sounds fine to me, as long as you aren't exhausting all your magical ability for the day. Let me first look down the grate to see what's down there."
Perception + Darkvision 60': 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Theadric Greyhood |
"Sounds like a good plan," Hood says. "Though I don't mind checking out the small places. In my show, there are all kinds of stunts where I escape chains and get out of tight spots..."
Do the gates look like we can remove them without problems?
Vailis |
"Good, no worries, I still have plenty of power at my back" says Vailis.
Once everybody is ready, the gates removed, and Theadric already descending the rope, Vailis casts feather fall over his allies and jumps through the central right whole.
I placed myself on the intended gate I randomly want to chose for myself
Maximillian Arcos |
Adjacent to the gate, unless one of our trap spotters warned us not to get close and I missed it. Max is immune to disease, so he's not too worried about falling into the channel.
Vanya Kaleth |
Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"Stop right there. If you step on that floor I can guarantee we'll regret it. Now please step aside and let me see if I can do something about it..." says Vanya in a most uncharacteristical professional tone
Dylara Yssal |
Dylara sheath her longsword and pets Melon. "Well done, girl!"
"Let me try something," she says as she picks up a random pebble and casts light on it, then throws it down the grate while looking at what's below.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
GM Baerlie |
Just in time, before something bad can happen, Vanya calls Maximillian back and maybe safed the party's lifes. DC15 to disable
Dylara, careful not to step on the grate, drops a stone into the hole. Below you see a room which appears to be an overflow chamber from the sewers above. The majority of the room is filled with trash and debris that has fallen into the room from above.
Maximillian Arcos |
"Thank you, Vanya, for saving our party from a crucial error on my part. You do excellent work." Maximillian offers his gratitude with a bit of embarrassment.
Theadric Greyhood |
"That's another amazing benefit of flying mounts!" Hood says. "Trap avoidance! I really need to get one! Is this one for sale?" he asks Dylara.
Vanya Kaleth |
"You are welcome" Vanya shrugs at Maximillian's praise but, despite herself, a smile finds its way on her face before she manages to hide it again:"Enough pleasantries already... move aside and let me do my job!"
Disable device check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
GM Baerlie |
You remove the grate and Vailis lets everyone down with a feather fall spell.
The water is two to three feet deep on the outside of the room and the mound of trash peaks in the center of the room is a full five feet over the water line. There are eight large openings in the ceiling covered in filth and slime. Two grates lead to large drainpipes on the east and west sides of the chamber but both grates appear secured.
This entire room is considered difficult terrain
The Sewer Dragons have made peace with an otyugh that calls itself Gurva, which they provide a constant stream of refuse as long as it doesn’t attack them and serves a guard for the entrance to their lair.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Vailis |
As the group placidly descends over the filth, Vailis looks around worried "I cannot see the Gurva anywhere..."
He looks at the southern exit "That might be our way to the next kobold levels. Let's go before the horrible monster decides to come back"
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Vailis tries to help the party to break through...
Strength aid: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Maximillian Arcos |
"If the kobolds were capable of reaching an accord with the creature, then it should be possible for us as well. If we encounter it, we should first try a diplomatic approach before resorting to combat." The paladin suggests as he looks around the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
GM Baerlie |
The south door is easy to open, but as you work at the door the garbage in the room’s center suddenly starts to move and a three-legged beast crawls out and attacks.

Dylara Yssal |
Previously:
"No, Melon's not for sale," Dylara tells Theadric, "but my parents are bird keepers. They gave me Melon's egg as a birthday present, and they have some more rocs. If you want a roc, you can come with me after our mission? Maybe I can cut you a deal on the next baby roc that hatches."
Dylara then touches Melon's saddle again and casts light on it. She'll continue to cast the spell on the saddle every time it runs out.
Currently:
Dylara waits a moment to see how the otyugh reacts to Maximillian.
Maximillian Arcos |
"I have brought some food which you can have, although if you let us pass I'll bring you whatever farm animal you desire after we are finished. As a Paladin, I'm sworn to always keep my word." Maximillian adds, pulling out a day's worth of rations.
Theadric Greyhood |
"Hey, how many tentacles do you have!?" Hood yells as Melon circles above.
"Can I see if I can throw food at all of them at once?" he asks. "And you can see if you can catch them all?!"
Maximillian Arcos |
"Here, I have a plenty of rations." Maximillian offers, throwing the creature three day's worth of food, "Is that a reasonable exchange for passage?"
