Akina scales down the shaft and joins the others at the bottom. She examines the corpse trying to guess how long it has layed at the bottom of the shaft.

"What a fool, jumping down when you hold a rope. Break your legs and die a slow death." Darius says, looking down on the dead man.
will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Hearing the rattle of bones Darius gets excited, grabs his weapon and turns around. Only to see a grinning Gin...
"Do it again and I might swing blindly at you, fool! And I might not hold back when I see it is just you making jokes."
Playing along, but I think I can hear you cast the spell anyway right, it has vocal components.
He swings his sword back over his shoulder and advances towards the door.
"If we are done, let's continue. We have wasted enough time on the doorway and even getting here."

Mak'e Ral |

Mak'e Ral climbs down the rope carefully and then moves to Anapa's shoulders for a moment looking like a parody of a great parrot before going to the ground with his help. He gives a thumbs up gesture and nod of thanks to the paladin and moves over to the corpse naturally looking for anything interesting, and moves to grab the dagger.

sense its someones tomb, wouldn't everything in here count as personal? Is that not the way of this culture? to be buried with all worldly possessions?
Ryuu asks, as he walks up and touches one of the figured carved into the doors.

Anapa Scion of Anubis |

"Not this one here, it is not his tomb, even if he died here. A weapon is a weapon, unless engraved or marked by the house of the owner of the tomb"

Mak'e Ral |

Mak'e Ral backs up. "Just wanted to examine it, might be important. Sword and pack too. Maybe learn who this is...for last rites." he then shrugged, if he had his way he'd take everything of value he could carry but he also respected Anapa enough to leave the corpse well enough alone.

Setting the Stage |

Anapa looks over the corpse. He looks like a tall lanky half elf. The leather is covered in star and wind embossing. His dagger and rapier look finely made as does his pack. Maybe he was a noble?
He bled to death from his wounds. The broken lets and the cuts The other wounds look self inflicted. He must have tried to attack the scarabs with his dagger and only succeeded in cutting his hand and the rope.

Ryuu Rossburg |

after gliding his hand over the stone doors, ryuu will turn.
What is useful is useful, we are just glorified tomb robbers at this moment, even with permission from the kingdom. They won't be aiding him, and perhaps after they have aided us, we may return them to his family.
Ryuu will walk over and pick up the two weapons and search through the rest of him. After the searching. Ryuu will pull him to lay straight in a corner, sit on his knees and do a send off, afterwards he will place two copper pieces on the corpses eyes.
Just a tradition I read about from an ancient people He will say when the others notice the last bit.

Setting the Stage |

On his back is a backpack. There are shattered bottles and glass. Ryuu does find a bundle of cloth thats crumbling to dust as he touches it. Inside of it are two vials of red liquid. They look very much like alchemist fire. There are also five more pitons and a hammer in it. His pouch has silk string, chalk and finely crafted thieves tools in a rolled sleeve that still looks as new as the day it was made. The scabbard for his dagger although it is ruined is on his belt and a bent short sword is on his other hip. The rapier and dagger are both some of the finest craftsmanship you have ever seen.
Dagger, Master work
Rapier, Master work
Alchemist Fire x2
chalk
silk string
thieve's tools, master work (+1 disable traps)
Hammer
piton x5

Ryuu Rossburg |

Ryuu will stash the dagger, thieves tools, chalk and string in his backpack, then toss the rapier to Mak e 'Ral.
you can make better use of this than most of us yes?
on a side note, my brain has started calling you mackerel... lol.

"We will bring it with us. It should be worth a few gold pieces. I will take the pitons and the rope in case we need some more inside."
Darius says as he collects the items and moves to the door which he plans to open, unless someone wants to check it for traps.

Mak'e Ral |

That is where I got the idea for the character's name Ryuu ^-^ It's just a sharp pronunciation of 'Mack' like the truck, 'ee', Ral.
Though I can use the thieve's tools and dagger more then the sword.
Mak'e Ral looks at the kit of tools. "I think I can make best use of those tools and the dagger...thin nimble fingers, see?" he wriggles his dexterous fingers at the monk.

Setting the Stage |

Darius easily pushes the door open to reveal a thirty foot long corridor.
you see a ten foot wide corridor with walls covered in bas-relief carvings of great battles. Armies with spears and shields clash at the direction of generals, while other leaders direct troops from chariots that are ruthlessly overrunning their enemies. At the far end of the corridor stand engraved stone double doors. The inner side of the doors you opened are also carved with pictured of Akhentepi with his padded armor, scarab shield and wielding a kopesh. The scenes on the wall seem to tell a story.

"I hope this entire tomb isn't trapped like that tunnel down."
Darius notes as he peers down the hallway, looking for traps (not advancing).
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
If he doesn't see anything he will take a rock, if there is, one and roll it down the floor.

Setting the Stage |

Darius finds a rock to toss down the hallway and it clatters along the floor without any effect.
Mak'e looks over the tiles and finds that they are not secured into the floor, after a few moments he is able to lift it up and sees that it is trapped with a pressure trigger under it. Many of them are going to be trapped that way.
Roll to disarm device or any other action you want to take.

Anapa Scion of Anubis |

Good work Mak'e! He grins
Who knows what could have happened from that little mishap

Setting the Stage |

Mak'e spends a few moments before disabling the trigger rod the tile is on. It takes him half an hour to go through and disable all of the trapped tiles in the corridor.
The hall free of traps Anapa can take a look at the walls. The walls have depictions that seem to flow in a chronological order. The ones near your door show Akhentepi journey out into the desert with his loyal band of soldiers. They journeyed across the desert to a city of people among the reeds then into the sculpted desert to a sphinx with what looks like a golden mask covering it's eyes. From there he traveled on to fight people with pyramid shaped heads below a floating pyramid. In the last panels it seems he was brought down with most of his forces, but slaughtered all but one of the pyramid headed people. The three remaining members of his force took up his body and brought it back along with two items. A chest, which was placed someplace within ancient Wati, which is the current necropolis. The other chest went on to a tomb in the desert. Akhentepi's body was placed in this tomb. The writing talks of an epic battle under The Shadow of the Eye but does not explain what it is.

![]() |

"Well done Mak.
So it guess we could find Akhentepi's body in here. Interesting... But let's move on." Darius says.

![]() |

"A very interesting story." Akina says as she wanders down the hall watching the story unfold.

Setting the Stage |

Darius opens the next door to see a faded tapestry with a portrait of Akhentepi, his wife , and two children before a small estate. On either side of the tapestry are two pedestals. Upon each is a small burial urn. From the size they would contain the families mummified pet cats.
To the left and right are short hallways leading to doors. These doors are made of thin sheets of patterned metal in frames. They can be easily opened by anyone.

Akina moves about the room inspecting the tapestry, urns, and anything else she take note of.

Setting the Stage |

Darius proceeds to open the door to see an armed Tiefling staring at him from the other side of the room. It takes him a second to realize that a massive mirror stretches across the southern wall.
Flanking it are two statues. The statue to the east depicts a tall, gaunt woman in a flowing, hooded gown, holding an hourglass. The figure to the west is that of a jackal-headed man carrying a short staff in his hand.
Stone double doors, standing slightly ajar, lead to the east and west.
Torch holders sculpted in the shape of bird skulls are built in each corner, and a thin layer of dust covers every surface.

I assume the jackal headed statue is that of Anubis
