"I say we do it. At the very least, it'll be a change of pace," Égaré grumbled, slugging back the contents of vial.

Takeshi shrugs. "I don't see much of a point in it, but I will help out if the rest of you desire it."

OOC, I'm curious about it. IC, I don't really think there's much of a point. It seems unlikely we would actually gain enough credit with the audience to help us much.

Yeah I have done plenty with the crown, winning favor on pretty much every roll and haven't seen any impact or game mechanic benefit. I would rather advance the story than just go do a seek and destroy for no gain.

"Not worth the risk, I'm sure it's easy enough. I think if we want to look for something we could help the city and look into the death this morning and what or who is messing with the tournament."

Very well. Ahreni bows to the group consensus that this task would be a tremendous waste of time and shakes her head firmly towards the Emissary, before turning on her heel.

So, investigating for possible sabotage? Someone should ask around, find out what people saw.

You're right, there won't be much gain. Of course you don't have to do it.

OK final decision, to go or not to go? You do have a date with Mr. Paladin tonight if you want to skip to that.

I'm fine not going.

You can move your own tokens for this combat, if you need me to move you just let me know.

Yon Loi’s becomes less festive with each passing night, perhaps because each day sees more contestants eliminated from the contest, or because of the uncharacteristically dismal weather. In any case, you find the noodle house largely vacant when you arrive to meet Marthysan. When 9 p.m. rolls around, the paladin is nowhere to be found, and the door opens to a false alarm as a stumbling-drunk local wanders in for a late meal.

Three tattooed thugs push up off their seats and moves in to surround you. You get the sense they are looking to attack you all. They all have sansetsukons and are studded leather armor.

Takeshi splutters on his drink, almost choking in his attempt to stifle his laughter. Much faster than a man wearing that much armor should move, he dashes around to the other side of the closest thug, drawing two kukri's as he moves. He looms over the thug, addressing him and his companions in a low growl. "Stand down or you will regret it."

Using their telepathic connection, he then addresses his companions. Mr. The Righteous gets another point in the 'sketchy individual' column.

Readied action to attack Red if either he or his companions do not either immediately surrender, flee, or otherwise back down.

Readied attack: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (18) + 27 = 45

If his readied action goes off, he will also say the following:
"That little love tap was your last warning. You will get no more from me." Since my readied action would trigger right before they took any hostile action, if they attack us after that, Takeshi will assume it's ok to beat them senseless his next turn.

"Are they fooking serious?" Égaré says and laughs properly, not bothering to hide his amusement at the display. He turns around on the bench as his allies move into aggressive positions and casually continues eating his noodles.

"Look, this is cute and all but I'm in no mood to play silly buggers with you," he said and noisily slurped his noodles, before saying around the mouthful, "You've got until I'm done to piss off."

This tournament seems like an awful lot of bother. She thinks drily to the others as they continue with their exhibition.

Letting his companions deal with the last thug, Takeshi flicks blood off of his twin kukri, looking around to make sure no other threats seem to be about before sheathing them. He then begins disarming the two unconscious thugs at his feet and pulling out rope to tie them up.

Aayalla hits with both attacks and the man falls unconscious.

Out of Combat!

Sorry about long delay!!

Takeshi continues to disarm their foes before checking if any had been killed or needed to be stabilized. Once done, he ties the up before looking to one of his other companions to do the interrogating. "Our typical Aayalla as good cop and Egare as bad cop?"

"Do we care at this point. We are close to the end. Even if they tell us who we are better to focus on winning first. If they want us out of the tournament I'm sure they will try again. We should sleep in shifts now though much like if on an adventure, but if you want we can question them. I'm finishing my dinner first though."

She smiles as she sits back down to finish her meal.

Égaré is grinning and tying the thugs to each other in a, shall we say, less than dignified position. Standing back to admire his handiwork and fishing a shard of metal out of his ruinous teeth, he grins.

"I'd definitely like a word with them," the big fellow notes.
