When the group is ready to leave, Billy sings an up-lifting song.
"Up up and away. On this beautiful afternoon.
No one wants to stay. I'll fly and sing this tune."

Cast Fly for 45' speed for 5 mins.
Wth upward movement (diff terrain), he can move 65' up in a round (650' in a min). Hope that's enough, given 5 mins.

[b]"Thanks Slick, I'll keep the crystal on my belt so that next time you or Pine can easily reach for it." Sigourney says, taking the crystal back from Slick.[/b

Sigourney grabs onto Reginald and starts flying upwards with the Potion of Flying's effects.

With upward movement, I move 60 feet up per round and 600 per min. I'll be alright, given that potion of flying greater lasts an hour.

The group heads up and out of the horrid hole. Reaching the top you find yourselves on the edge of a small, rocky island, about two miles across. The sark waters of an abyssal sea surround you and above the sky is criss crossed with slashes of otherworldly light and clouds of glowing gasses. Occasionally something large and winged passes overheard but too far above to be of concern.

In the distance you can see a small fortress clinging to the edge of the cliffs at the far side of the island. It appears to be in ruins. Moving closer, and keeping to what little cover there is, you can get within a few hundred yards of the fortress. As you get closer you can see that a veritable army of demons surrounds the place. Hundreds of demons patrol the ground surrounding the castle and also wheel overhead, keeping watch.

A frontal assault is clearly impractical. You will need some way of distracting the surrounding forces in order to gain access to the main building yourselves. That, of course, is where your various allies will come in. Scouting around you find an area with cover from some protruding rocks and screened from the fortress. Here you can set up the teleportation enhancer provided by the Pactmasters which will let them bring your allies through.

Having found a location you can return to Harrowheart and start making the arrangements.

This will take several days to sort out so you can sell any of the stuff you have found and make purchases. If there is anything you want to do on the island then I am happy to resolve that but be aware that if you are noticed then that may well change lots of things. The Prince knows who you are and if he becomes aware that you have located him he will react.

Before Slick's shopping (selling) spree, Billy looks over the items. At Sigourney's suggestion, Billy considers the Scroll of Hidden Mind. The halfling shrugs, "Not sure it's worth losing a daily 8th-rank spell slot, but I'll keep it for now and think about it." Billy pays Slick for the scroll.

Before returning to face the Prince, Sigourney asks about a Heroes' Feast. Billy nods and leads the way to The Publican's tavern. He greets Cy, the one-eyed bartender. He calls out jovially, "Didja miss us?"

When everyone is gathered, he recites the religious incantations.
Religion, DC 26: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (1) + 29 = 30
But someone smoking some strange weed fills his nostrils and causes him to sneeze in the middle!
Fortunately, with a little Halfling Luck...
Religion, DC 26: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (19) + 29 = 48
...he quickly recovers and completes the ritual, assuming help from Sigourney.

Heroes' Feast details:
Heroes' Feast
Secondary Caster: Requires a secondary caster making a Society or Diplo check (I expect Sig is helping with Society...)
DC: Guessing the DC 26 based on it defaulting to a 5th-rank spell/ritual (but this may be GM-discretion)
Cost: 25gp (shared among us)
Duration: 12 hours
Critical Success: The feast is nourishing and revitalizing. The magical food casts neutralize poison, remove disease, and remove fear on each guest for each relevant affliction, using your modifier for the primary skill check as the counteract modifier. Each guest also recovers 100 Hit Points and gains 20 temporary Hit Points for the next 12 hours. Guests also gain a +2 status bonus to saves against disease, fear, and poison effects for the next 12 hours.

After the Feast, do we take about an hour to return to the Great Hall and gather our things before returning?

"Of course he missed us. Everything's boring when we're not here, probably."

Pine lets Sigourney help Billy if she wants, even though he totally could have done it.

Over the course of the next several days your allies begin gathering at Harrowheart. Usilket arrives with several of the Pactmaster devices which enhance teleportation. They are strange, conical items of dull grey metal which spark and fizz when activated.

The locals are all terribly surprised at the arrival of your strange array of allies. The crystalline xorn, glittering in the sun now freed from their curse, the ratlike hadis, handing around a range of strange and exotic alchemical bombs, the massive flying apes, the derhi, who run exercise drills in aerial combat above the town, the sullen morlocks who slink about making everyone nervous and, finally, the vast Radiant Warden who gives everyone nightmares given its similarity to the abyssal construct that killed so many.

Once your forces are in place Usilket confers with several high ranking Pactmasters who arrived overnight. They activate the devices and through a mixture of plane shift, gate, and other stranger magics your allies are translocated to the Abyss along with yourselves.

They quickly spread out in pre arranged battle formations, the derhi taking to the skies. The presence of so large a force cannot go unnoticed for long and soon hundreds of screaming demons are boiling out of the Keep to the attack. The fighting is fierce but it provides you with just the cover you need to slip past the outer defences and reach the Keep entrance.

Thank you for obtaining your allies, I dont have to run an encounter with 13 different troops.

However, it seems that your arrival in anticipated and as you approach the gate numerous creatures appear on the walls in a flash. The black armoured figure bearing a wolfs head helm speaks, You have found me at last, so be it, I shall slay you and all of your cards shall be mine. Raven shall not have them!

The walls of the keep are 30' high. Mogaran, Tarshon and Vazmorakil are at ground level. Mogaran is inside the keep in a tunnel leading to the interior. You can reach him through the open entryway. The rest are all up on the walls. Mogaran has a strange burning black crystal in the shape of a wolf embedded in his brow.

From the top of the column of reverse gravity, Sigourney calls out "This gimmick won't save you! Reginald! Do your thing!"

Reginald's patron acts first to help Sigourney out.

With her hair streaming downwards and noticing that all the enemies are conveniently grouped up together, Sigourney moves to nuke all of them. Calling down the very stars themselves, she chants in Draconic; "And so Apsu himself swept his tail throughout the sky and punished about a third of all dragonkind for their transgressions...they fell out of the sky like Falling Stars. Magic Sign 'Stardust Reverie'!"

I've marked out where the stars fall on the map. Given that the walls are 30 feet high, I can't hit everyone with the epicentre (bludgeoning damage). All enemies will get hit with the Airburst (Sonic damage) though.

I think all enemies only attempt one reflex save vs the spell. So if an enemy gets hit with both the epicentre and the airburst they make one reflex save to determine the results of both instances of damage.

Bludgeoning, DC 39 Reflex: 6d10 ⇒ (2, 6, 7, 5, 1, 3) = 24

Sonic, DC 39 Reflex: 14d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 6, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, 5, 6, 5, 6, 3) = 58

With her last action, she Quickened Casts Air Walk on Slick, knowing that it would be easier to do so now than later where she would have to chase after the impatient warrior.

As everyone falls upward, Pine catches himself and flies out of the are of the disorienting spell (plus, while he doesn't want to approach alone, he also thinks being grouped up might be bad). He twirls around the falling bodies and moves to the side.

So many demons... "Thin the herd," he mutters.

"Funny, we had a similar idea!" he calls out to the wolf guy, before striking out--at one of the other demons that Sigourney hit directly and that doesn't seem to have reacted to his presence yet.

Sigourney pounds the crumbling fortress with falling death from the sky. The impacts smash holes in the walls of the ancient keep, wreaking destruction.

Pine ducks off to the side and stabs Ornak, who appears annoyed.

Xesparude makes an imperious gesture and Slicks finds his air walk spell come to an end. He resumes bobbing.

That is now a regular success. Success means you take persistent damage and are confused.

Billy finds his mind overwhelmed by pain and flames! He hurls a small floating rock at Reginald, hitting him on the nose before wildly swinging his staff at him while making gurgling noises.

Pausing here just to make sure no-one has anything that might change what has happened.

Upon their arrival at the gate of the Prince's fortress, Slick looks up at the black armored figure on the wall. He frowns and purses his lips "So that's the Prince of Wolves? How unimpressive. I hope this Raven fellow he mentioned proves more of a challenge."

He is then caught by surprise when ignominiously flung upwards 40 feet by the lack of gravity from whatever spell one of the glabrezu cast. Slick then finds his footing only to be once again be sent falling upwards. Somewhat ironically, he says, "I hope you guys are finding this as entertaining as I am."

But the fun has only just begun as the Prince blasts them with beams of burning hot wax, which unlike two of his compatriots, he manages to completely avoid by twisting out of the way.

His glee is cut short as one of the nalfeshne pig demons unleashes the power of the Abyss at them, but Slick once again shrugs off its effects without so much as a scratch to show for it. Unfortunately, his luck is cut short when the other glabrezu slips through his (admittedly limited) mental defenses and manages to stun him momentarily. "Ugh! I'm beginning to feel a little like a punching bag."

Action 1 (◆): Lost to Stunned 1 - Slick no longer stunned.

Recovering his wits and the use of his limbs, Slick surveys the situation and tries to decide what to do next. He is sorely tempted to launch himelf at Mogaran, or more specifically, the wolf-shaped crystal embedded in his skull, but the pained groans of his wax-soaked colleagues draw his attention. "You guys really need to work on those dodging skills. Hold on! Let's see if we can get some of this burning wax off you."

Action 2 (◆): Interact - Remove burning wax from Billy.

Action 3 (◆): Interact - Remove burning wax from Sigourney.

Hopefully that gets you guys back into the fight sooner, because we're careening headlong into a TPK if things don't turn around soon.

Reactive Strike (↺) (extra reaction from Tactical Reflexes)
Trigger A creature within your reach uses a manipulate action or a move action, makes a ranged attack, or leaves a square during a move action it’s using.
Make a melee Strike against the triggering creature. If your attack is a critical hit and the trigger was a manipulate action, you disrupt that action. This Strike doesn’t count toward your multiple attack penalty, and your multiple attack penalty doesn’t apply to this Strike.

- Action: Strike (+3 Greater Striking Greater Flaming Holy Quickstrike Greatsword) with Courageous Anthem

Greatsword Attack: 1d20 + 29 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 29 + 3 + 1 = 43
Greatsword Damage: 3d12 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (2, 10, 1) + 13 + 1 = 27 slashing damage
Greatsword Flaming Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 fire damage - no resistance
Greatsword Holy Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 holy spirit damage
If target is unholy, then add: Greatsword Holy Extra Damage to Unholy: 1d4 ⇒ 4 holy spirit damage

If Crit Success, target is Off-Guard until the start of your next turn (Fighter Weapon Mastery of Swords).

If Crit Success, target takes an additional 2d10 persistent fire damage - no resistance (Greater Flaming).

If Crit Success, you can use a reaction to Demoralize your foe (Battle Cry)

Holy Healing (↺) (1/day)

Reduce the damage the ally would take by 24. You redirect this damage to yourself, but your immunities, weaknesses, resistances and so on do not apply.

Warding Tattoo (Fiend) (↺) (1/day)
Trigger An enemy, hazard, or the environment makes an attack against your AC, requires you to attempt a saving throw, or causes you to take damage automatically
Until the end of the current turn, against the triggering effect, you gain a +1 status bonus to AC and saving throws and gain resistance 2 to damage.

The Paladin (↺) (1/day)
Trigger You fail or critically fail a saving throw
Adjust the result of your saving throw up by one degree of success.

Skeptic's Defense (↺) (1/day)
Trigger You are targeted by or are in the area of a mental spell or effect.
You don't believe in any mental twaddle, and you're certainly not afraid of it. You scoff and verbally refute the triggering effect, attempting a counteract check using your Intimidation modifier with a counteract level of half your level rounded up. If you succeed, you ignore the triggering effect, though any other creatures that were also targeted or in the area are still affected. If the source of the effect you successfully counteracted understands your language and has an Intelligence modifier of –3 or higher, that creature becomes stupefied for 1 round.

Blessed Denial (↺)
Trigger An ally within 30 feet would become Frightened, Drained, Enfeebled, Sickened, or Stupefied.
You exude peace and protection, lessening a harmful condition as it falls upon an ally. Reduce the value of the condition your ally would take by 1 (to a minimum of 0). If the ally takes more than one condition at the same time, choose one to reduce.

"Wow, these guys are completely harmless, huh?" says Pine as he resists another spell. He can see that the others aren't having as easy a time, but maybe the taunting will draw some fire. Which will only be a problem if it works.

Sigourney's mind was reeling. Demons, a deadly flame, and now reversed gravity? 'This has to stop. I need to thin the horde.' She thought to herself. Vazmorakil is at ground level, I assume Pine is as well.

Pine rushes up to one of the Glabrezu. He wrong foots him and then stabs him severely in the knee.

That is a crit for 93 plus 6d6 bleed (I believe the 3d6 is doubled on a crit).

Sigourney recognises the Prince as some sort of beastkin human but is otherwise unsure of much about him. He is flying without the benefit of wings. He is armed in blackened full plate and is wielding a morning star and a shortsword. She tries to engulf all of the enemies in electricity! Many of them dance uncontrollably in the coruscating energy but none of them fall!

Xespardu flies forward and engulfs the three of you still floating in the air in more nauseating purple lightning but it has limited effect.

The Prince decides to engage in some focus fire. He glares at Pine with murderous intent before flying down and striking at him.

Pausing here to see if Pine has any reactions. I know you have the Demon Lantern but there may be others. You are off guard to this attack for reasons and the attack is a critical hit.

Slick, floating 40' up in the air, is starting to get a little tired of being used as a mental speed bag by the bad guys.

Action 1 (◆): Lost to Stunned 1 - Slick no longer stunned.

He shakes off the latest mind invasion by Tarshon and considers his options. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the time to pull off his clever plan to rip the crystal from Mogaran's brow, so decides to take the big brute down the old-fashioned way. Finding a little reverse purchase, he launches himself at the creature below him. No sooner does he clear the strange force-field than he begins to fall to the ground below. On the way down, he slashes twice at Mogaran.

NOTE: Slick has the Cat Fall feat and is Master in Acrobatics so treats falls as 50 feet shorter.

NOTE: Slick's Five-Feather Wreath (Major) gives him resistance 10 to falling damage.

Like a large and very heavy cat, Slick lands with a heavy thud, unharmed and on his feet.

Slick leaps at Mogaran, landing two damaging blows before crashing into the ground superhero style.

A hit and a crit, he is most definitely unholy. I make that 45 + 70 plus off guard and some weakness.

Mogaran crashes to the ground and lies very still!

You put him down by 1HP.

Vazmorakil is not having a good day and it is about to get worse as he turns on his boss. Fortunately for him all of his blows go wide but the Prince snarls, You fool, you have fallen for their pathetic mind tricks!

To save himself from further embarrassment Vazmorakil chooses to bleed to death!

Sigourney sees the tide turning and decides to start picking off demons one by one. Noticing that Xespardue is mentally confused, she goes for the less threatening yet equally annoying Ornak.

A glowing beam lights up the Knifewand as Sigourney yells "You've had it too good for too long, demon. Fire Sign - Holy Light!" The light passes through the reflective purple prism that is Sigourney's reliable Shadow Signet, transforming itself into a purple ray that tests the demon's reflexes.

Pine bravely decides to provoke from the Prince, sadly he lacks any such reaction (Although I was very tempted to give him disrupt prey as he is a ranger). He then steps away to try and protect himself.

Xespardue is also having a bad day. He roars angrily and swoops down on poor Pine, apparently enraged by him! He lashes out at him but the nimble little sprite evades his clumsy blows.

The Prince glowers at Pine, Let me show you how that is done he says, faking him out. He steps forward and lashes out with his morning star. The metal ball smacks Pine in the side of the head, the backswing hits home again but the sword stab just goes wide. Pine is reeling.

Slick looks up and sees that the cuts he made on Mogaran were fatal. He nods in satisfaction as the great beast crashes to the ground beside him. He then turns to what remains of their opponents. He glances up at the heavily damaged and confused nalfeshnee floating above, and then at the Prince of Wolves beyond. Slick decides to concentrate his attacks on the more dangerous leader and leave the wounded demon for the others to finish off.

Calling over to the Prince, Slick first tries to put the fear of death in him. With a wicked grin on his face, he shouts, "Your time has come Prince. Prepare to die!" then launches himself at his new opponent.
