But how do we get someone up to the controls again? I don't think anyone wants to tangle with sharkie.

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

how do you think i came down to join you as i was the one operating the controls? :)

Just let's not have anymore run ins with sharkie, if possible. ;) That's not a souvenir any of us want.

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

dam i like fresh PalaShark shashimi :)

;) That's different than the kind of souvenir Tolenn got from PalaShark.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

How the heck does Lamm go upstairs anyway? Doubt he'd go climbing ropes... Or swimming.

who says he does?

;) comes and goes to the fishery by one of the small boats tied off.

orrrrr he could always jump down through the hole and walk around...oh carp did I say that? could that be an avenue of escape? hmmmmm couuullllld beee

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

Nay he rides Sharky in and out of the lower level :)

all of the district maps are done

*THIS* alone made this game shine above most... lol. Love the descriptions.

Amen to that. And it really doesn't hurt when we're responsible for such great things. ;) I mean, you can't fake those rolls. But yes, I very much agree.

Yeah I always try to put myself in the shoes of the bad guys and think..what would I do if it was me. Instead of just making it all about 'the fight'

and you still get exp for 'defeating' them ;)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ha! Exactly!! It's even more fun if the group feels like they're in an interactive cinematic movie rather than a roll-by-the-numbers fight/plot. Hence my lil distraction in the other game... ;)

Ill post a list here of all that you found and help keep track in the campaign info tab once you get to where you want to divide things up and id/appraise things.

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

perfect dm.

Male Human Wizard (runesage, scroll scholar) 2

If you want, when we pause to divide, Ellismus can use detect magic on everything and take 10 for a total of 20 (he has a +10 bonus) on his spellcraft to identify these items and the potions. This should help quickly sort through things. Anything he can't identify at that point, he can roll for on other days.

makes sense...when we do the appraisal What we will do is have one person with the highest skill roll and other folks with appropriate knowledge checks or aid another appraisal skill rolls add to that persons roll Next to each item Ill put the DC. We will use one roll with appropriate +2's to determine what the highest DC of appraised items you can determine...

a quick easy method.

Now how Ill do selling off goods.

Its easy to do the 50% for all non-treasure items. And though the book says items like art and gems and jewelry are supposed to be 100%. I dont like that neccessarily.

some items will be hard to 'fence' others may be hard to find a buyer for. so it will depend on A)whos taking the item, and B where they are trying to unload it.

Obviously something of Shoanti heritage may be easier to sell to Shoanti with a shoanti, but may fetch more money with chelaxian nobles sold by someone they like.

someone who the nobles look down on will likely not get s much money for somethings..if they are even acknowledged.

so it will be a trial and error thing for the party to find a buyer for the items.

Its something I wont handwave (at least for a while)

same for dividing loot. items either have to be sold to divide the coin, or they have to be taken at face value as a treasure item choice for a player then its up to that character to unload it ;)

which brings me to how you want to divvy items...lets hear from everyone.

choice A)- create a posted order (that rotates with each sub-adventure) for who chooses first and go in order through the list of collected items. [orderly and moves through lists fairly rapidly]

Choice B)- mutual decision who gets what by party consensus [most liked by me]

Choice C)- who found it gets it. [less liked by me]

My vote will be a tie breaker.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

So here's my $0.02... while I like choice B) mutual decision by party consensus as an option too, it may lead to someone feeling 'left out' if they can't post quick enough or regularly enough to foster the ooc social skills and rapport with others. Subconsciously, with no malicious intent, this may lead the group to pick fighter A over fighter B even though they may both be equally qualified. While this is something that CAN be avoided if all of us stay cognizant of this innate behaviour, I would truly hope it doesn't need to hurt feelings over imaginary internet items on anyone's part. :)

Choice A (posted order - rotate through each sub-adventure) would be my preferred choice because it can also amalgamate Choice B into it if the group works fairly well together. Eg. two fighters - and fighter A has first choice but knows fighter B would really benefit more from that nifty shield? If the group works well together, he passes on the shield and picks something else for him/her along with the rest of the group so fighter B can get what he/she needs.

re. fencing/selling off goods - just so everyone is aware, Ashimar's strengths would lie in dealing with the hoity-toitys of Korvosa and the upper-middle class professionals (lawyering and +6 knowledge in nobility). Plus the religious side of things with her affiliation w/ Shelyn.
Her weaknesses would be trying to sell of weapons/armor/anything to do with 'black market' sales (while she may know of fences, it's doubtful they'd want to buy anything from a barrister).

Male Human Wizard (runesage, scroll scholar) 2

I prefer a sort-of combination (of A and B) approach.

Logic:

1 - Item has only one feasible user
_ = That character decides if they want it (and it isn't something that could be thought of as a "party item" [see below]). If not then sell.

2 - Item has more than one feasible user
_ = The characters say whether or not they are truly interested in the item
_ 2 a - More than one character is interested in it.
_____ = Rotating order (option A) used. (Note no gaming of the system. Anyone found to do so, loses their choice)
_ 2 b - Only one character is interested in it.
_____ = That character gets it.
_ 2 c - No character is interested in it.
_____ 2 c 1 - The item could still be of use
___________ = Designate someone who can use it as the 'carrier'. Item is a "party item". (Think cure wands, etc.)
_____ 2 c 2 - The item has no real use.
___________ = Sell the item

3 - Item has no feasible user
_ = Sell the item.

Out of the three choices, I'm ok with either A or B.
- B if consensus is considered in the fashion of "who could make the most and best use of it?" rather than "who do I like more?"
- A if people can't take items that they can not use or have no interest in using, when there is clearly someone in the party who is interested, just to sell it a little later (to avoid having to split with the party) for cash.

EDIT: PS: Although IC-ly we're not a proper group of friends and so this isn't something to discuss there, OOC-wise, it might be an idea to add an extra share or two to the split (so 7 or 8 shares rather than 6). These extra shares would go into a "party fund" which can be used for party purchases (e.g. cure wands), replenishing party supplies, etc.

and while this decision is being made, just note- I don't buy into the common thought process that ALL magic items are available in a city. I have compiled a list of items that I know are available at this moment at the various shops in the city. I will revise this list as time goes on.

But It wont be like a walmart of magic items. ;)

Item crafting will be useful, but will also take you out of full adventuring..just fyi.

the best way of getting items will be finding them in your travels. ;)

and if you run into masterwork items or finely crafted items, they will be the cheapest/quickest way to make use of magic item creation.

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

But i like walmart especially in a big city like we are in :)

So more AC item, magic sword swords with tailored walmart enhancements and cool wondrous items please.

oh well option B it is for me :) after all i am not really playing a caster.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

I think I figured out who S.M is :)

oh? do tell.... ;)

Yeah Ill be making sure there are items that the party will find useful. I take an active hand in supplying items rather than the alternative ;)

Sent you a PM. I wouldn't want to spoil it by posting here in case it's plot relevant and not meant to be revealed yet... or make a fool of meself in case I'm wrong! lol

hehehe yep. I love the intrigue ;)

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

well i am sure we will find out soon enough :)

hmmmm how soon is soon enough? *chuckle* though speculation could be made soon enough lololol

I think there's about 15 or so valid factions in Korvosa and about another handful with interests..

Motive..thats what we need...

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

I refuse to speculate!

ok fine - a wee bit of speculation in the hopes of promoting discussion:

1. Was the Zellara we saw someone masquerading as her to help us off Lamm or was she ghost-Zellara wanting revenge?
2. S.M refers to taking care of an incident... what incident could this be? Killing Zellara? or her son? Her son tracked down a group of thieves to get Z's harrow deck back according to the story we got. Was there more to that story?
3. what 'motive' could our dastardly GM be referring to? Motive for someone who wanted Lamm dead? or Motive for SM to keep Lamm safe?
4. I want to see someone do a brad pitt impersonation at the end of seven and ask "What's in the box man? What's in the box?!" holding on to the hat box...
5. Can we split the loot and have a nap now? it's the bloody middle of the night and barristers start their day pretty darn early!
6. Looking at the fishery map, I notice we left a couple rooms untouched - someone search those for clues... and while we're at it, notice a small boat tied to the dock near the big ship that's inoperational (it *IS* inoperational, right? RIGHT GM??) Did anyone check out the small boat?

1. hmmm is there a way to know? don't know but maybe going back to Zellara's is in order.

2. hmmmm *grins*

3. hehe or something else entirely

4. I nominate Jarrin

5. Zellara's is close :D. Tolenn's is a bit further.

6. I need to hear from others where they go and what they look at. There could be traps? could be other things to fight? more treasure? more clues? There is at least one other LT who hasn't had is body searched.

Boats? yep the ship is inop...but why would it be tied off? hmmmmm

and yes two small boats to be exact. one off either walkway. and no. no one searched them

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

re. 6. Nice try :) You had already indicated 9 and croc for opposing numbers - Lamm, Hooky, Yagrin, Giggles, Bloo, 2 mooks in front room, 2 mooks with Lamm. All accounted for! My bet would be on traps.

;) I'm voting that we search them, as well as every room. We need to turn this place upside down.

ohhhh kayyyyyy. Was the shark in that 9? just curious ;)

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

sure cedric is in no hurry

Touche! GM - 2, Ashimar - 0

next time Gadget... I'll get you next time... lol

*chuckle* didn't want you folks to be surprised when your attacked by vermin :D (oops did I say that)

Male Human (Varisian) Bard (Detective)/1

2. I thought stealing a harrow deck was kinda odd, and dying for retrieving it even odder, but I took conversation in different directions.

4. Actually I want to play Morgan Freeman and b$@*!slap the killer as he tells him to shut up.

5. I suggested this earlier.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

Soooooo now that we've ransacked the place - where to next?

A - Zellara's
B - Tolenn's
C - ransack the ship (keeping in mind Mike said it's tricky to get to and we haven't killed the shark yet)

I vote for 'A' - if we don't find anything there, we can always come back to the ship... it's not like it's going to sail off into the night like the kids or that drugged woman... thoughts?

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

A

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

DM do you want us to keep track of the loot we find, or are you doing it? :)

Im doing it for now. Once I get to Zellara's or Tolenn's Ill post a list based off what you say you are taking with you....

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

Perfect !

Male Human Wizard (runesage, scroll scholar) 2

Please consider anything magical we find or stuff that could be potions as "things we are taking with us", lol.

what about the portable alchemy lab? (by the way in future parts I wont prompt you like this ;) )

;) that'd be worth a good amount of money.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Cleric (1) HP 8/8 (AC 11 Tch 11 FF 10 ) (F +2, R +1, W +5) (Init +3, Perc +9)

So far we only have 2 for Zellara's? (possibly 3 since that's what Jarrin had suggested earlier)... everyone else want to just hang out at the fishery? :)

1 more and to Zellara's it is

I'm either for her or check the boat

Hp 14/22 AC 22 / T 14 / FF 18 (+5 Perc; +3 Init; Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +1)

well it is heavy and bulky and really of use only to the one who can make stuff. so i am not really sure about taking it...

well since there's no votes for check the boat. Im advancing you to Zellara's
