Anga Facion |
Rubbing sleep from his eyes Anga rises from his bed. Ignoring his armor he grabs his weapons and walks sleepily over to where Audrey bedded down for the evening. Gently shaking her he waits till her eyes open then says "Come on, 's time to go." He yawns. "They're here."
Shuffling out the door he make his way up the ramparts. The night air does a bit for him and he wakes up considerably. Getting to the top, he asks, "So, do we know what we've got?"
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Wraith T'lek |
Eddric grabs his armor and runs up the ramp, "Mind strapping me in."
Wraith merely looks at him. "I have no idea how that works. Have Oleg help you into it, I'm needed on the wall with my bow."
These men and their shiny coats of metal. If one would just train their body and become one with themselves, they would have no need for such fancy trinkets.
Thaegrin Variel |
Thaegrin steps out the office at the clamor, thanking the fates that he'd risen early to prepare his spells.

Deducing the cause for the shouts and commotion, Thaegrin opens the canister containing a scroll. Unrolling the parchment, he mutters a brief incantation. Cyan fog seems to pour from the inscriptions onto his hands, and spread over his arms and shoulder. The vapor grows thinner, until it is transparent, quickly coating his entire body. His visage warbles a bit, as though standing behind heat waves.
Casts Mage Armor from scroll, + 4 armor bonus to AC
He lets the useless paper fall, and looks haughtily up to his companions on the battlements.
"Dammit knight! Am I the only one prepared for this altercation?"
Thaegrin hammers on the door to the Leventon's living quarters. "Oleg! Up! It is time to repay these vermin in kind!"
He calls to Eddric. "Come down. I will not help you into your armor while exposed on the wall."
Thaegrin will help Eddric get into his armor, but if the bandits break through too quick, he will stop to cast spells and grouse.
'Oleg |
Oleg opens the door in the middle of sliding on his left boot.
"I thought I heard hoof beats."
He slams his foot into the shoe, takes up a weather beaten cross bow, and shuffles up the wall at what must be a trot for the old man.
Last round before they are at the walls (100 feet away now).

Wraith furrows his brow. "A red sun rises, blood has been spilled this night." he murmurs as he flurries arrows toward the nearest bandit, dismissing the knight as he runs down to get clothed by the wizard.

Anga Facion |
"Battle is it then? Ah well." The Half-Elf straightens to his full six foot ten and raises his hands over his head. Bellowing forth in the enraged voice of a sea captain, a little trick he learned from the sailors of Wakewill, he challenges the opposition. "WELL COME YOU COWARDS! COME YOU MOTHERLESS SONS OF WHORES! COME AND TASTE STEEL AND FLAME! COME, FOR THE DREAD PIRATE FACION IS HERE FOR YOUR SOUUUUUUUUULS!
Intimidate 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 (one standard action)
Taking a deep breath he launches back into his tirade. "I WAS BORN ON THE BLACKEST MIDNIGHT! THE WILDEST STORM WAS ME FATHER, THE KRAKEN ME NURSEMAID, AND IN THE HOLD OF A SINKING SHIP DID I DRAW ME FIRST BREATH! I'VE KILLED COUNTLESS MEN, BEDDED AS MANY WOMEN, AND DRUNK MORE THAN BOTH COMBINED! THE LION, AND THE BEAR I'VE SLAIN, WITH NOT BUT A SLING! AND SO TO SHALL YOU FALL BEFORE ME!
SO COME YOU INBRED SACKS OF FILTH! COME AND FACE YOUR DOOOOOM! YOUR LAST SIGHT WILL BE MY FACE, AND YOUR LAST SOUND MY NAME!" He draws air into his lungs till they nearly burst, then roars forth:
"ANGA... FACIOOOOONNNN!"
If you saw that, oooops.
Leaning back over the ramparts towards the fort he loudly whispers to Thaegrin, "Hey Elf, seems like we've got some local color up here, a bit of grand mumbo-jumbo wouldn't go amiss." Checking his crossbow, he readies if for when the enemy is in range.
Thaegrin Variel |
Thaegrin sends a frowning glance at the half elf's display, but keeps his concentration on Eddic's armor.
"I don't have time to take part in your mummer's show," he replies, "Just keep them off the gate for as long as you can."
He emphasizes his frustration by jerking a buckle into place.
Helping someone into armor is a full round action, yes?

Thanks to the protective cover of the wall, Anga is unharmed. Wraith takes an arrow just above the lung and narrowly escapes his death as he dodges a second arrow.
The enemy are now 50 feet from the walls. Your move guys. Eddric has 3 more rounds 'til armor is on.
Audrey Muta |
Intimidate is single target within 30 feet
Audrey steps out of the guesthouse fully armored and ready for battle. She scans the area and sees the wizard aiding the knight. She bolts across the yard and motions for Thaegrin to join the battle, she'll take over from here. 2 more rounds Eddric.
GM DSP |

GM DSP |
I made a derp. I forgot about your lovely pit trap.
The horses approach the gate and the ground begins to give way under them.

The grapples set and they prepare to pull down the gate.
Now it's your turn :P
Thaegrin Variel |
Thaegrin climbs to the wall to assess the situation. Noting the fallen horsemen, and the ropes straining against the gate, he shakes his head as he moves above the gate. Once at its center, he extends a hand over the edge, his fingertips spread. A faint red light outlines his hand before welling in his down-turned palm. The coalesced light intensifies, and then blasts a cone of fire onto the ropes, and the trapped horse and rider.
Casts Burning Hands. Reflex save to half 1d4 ⇒ 2 fire damage. Targeting the rider, the grappling ropes, the horse, and anything else that falls into the 15 ft cone.
GM DSP |
Seeing the bandit fall from his horse, the soldier nearest the bandit's animal attempts to grab hold of it and keep it pulling at the gate.

Audrey rushes up to the battlements and yanks the arrow out of Anga's stomach with one hand and presses her other, spell-charged, hand against the wound. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 healing
Eddric is now armored and free to act.
Thaegrin Variel |
"Eddric! Find a glaive, or a halberd! Try to cut the ropes from the wall."
Thaegrin flicks a hand out toward the mounted soldier, and a thin, silver beam flashes directly toward the face of the foe.
Shimmering Ray: The ray causes creatures to be blinded for 1 round. Creatures with more HD than your wizard level are dazzled for 1 round instead.
Ranged touch attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Anga Facion |
Anga stumbles backward as the arrow catches him. Reeling from the pain he grunts as Audrey pulls it out and attempts to close the wound. "My thanks" He mumbles as he reloads his crossbow. Noting that Eddric is now in the fight he climbs down and tosses him his crossbow and bolts before he begins to hastily don his armor. "I assume you know how to use this." He calls out as he tries to shimmy into his chain shirt.
Two move actions?
GM DSP |
I made a mistake. To don Eddric's armor WITH help should have taken 20 rounds. Alone, Anga will need 10 rounds to put his armor on, with help he'll need 5. For this fight, Anga, just take a full round action.
Sleeping in light armor is ALWAYS a good idea. Anga, there is no mechanical reason for you to take your armor off. Now, for role play, it is fun and will not stop you from making that choice. The same is true for you Eddric, you may choose to sleep in light armor to be better in a surprise fight or not. I would HIGHLY recommend it though since getting you into your armor as fast as possible would put 2 party members out of commission for 20 rounds.
Thaegrin's spell just misses the soldier.
Sir Eddric |
Sarcastically Eddric replies,"I was leading!"
After trotting to the gate and opening it, he looks at the downed man. "Aye your probably about to die. I am no healer, so I may not be the best of judge. Are you going to be a good little prisoner and talk or one of those stone faced I like to melt away till death warheroes. I'll give you a guess as to which one gets saved by my very lovely little cleric." He kneels next to the downed solider and checks his vitals.
Thaegrin Variel |
Climbing down from the wall, Thaegrin watches the knight approach the trapped soldier. He nods to Wraith's command.
"Yes. Bind him first. There may be some fight left in him. Bring him inside."
Brushing off his robes, he grouses, "Well, that was much less challenging than I'd hoped. But we surely have not seen the last of them, let us not forget to make repairs before they return."
Is the horse in the pit dead? Eddric just might have found a replacement...
