Zayid Tumaini
Zayid nods to Pelgrev and moves up to attack the bigger dog. Moved 30'.
Attack (PA): 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 1 = 16 (Add 2 if flanking)
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Korrith
|
Korrith hears Freia's cry and moves accordingly.
On phone, can't move things on the doc. If Korrith can attack the dog Freia's after, he uses a Small morningstar. Be sure to use his mutagen stats!
GM Choon
Johnny and Ariana to act (you may still act this round even though your spell completed at the beginning of your turn).
Freia and Korrith clobber their dog into unconsciousness. Zayid connects with the massive canine. It slowly turns its horse -sized head around to look down at the ranger.
Johnny Porters
Johnny attacks the dog in front of him with all his might
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Pelgrev
Moved Korrith, and removed 2 downed dogs(Korrith/Freia's & Johnny's). Map should be accurate. Ariana is up.
Johnny Porters
Johnny crushes the dog in front of him just in time for it to be replaced by another.
Noro quit dancing with that dog. knock that thing out already
Ariana Rosencruz
No, she's not casting it again. So many posts and I lost where you had said the spell went off.
Stupid mutt.
Ariana won't bother wasting another spell, she'll move up 25' and fire her crossbow at the one in front of Pelgrev.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 for 1d8 ⇒ 4
GM Choon
Ariana's bolt goes just barely wide and clatters against the stone of the street.
flanker zayid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
flanker: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
flanker: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
dog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Zayid: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Korrith: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Another flurry of attacks erupts from the pack as they try to protect the large Alpha. Korrith does an impressive job fending off his trio of attackers, but one makes it through his chemically hardened defences for 3 damage. Pelgrev and Johnny both defend themselves effectively against the snapping jaws. Zayid, however, is caught between a Dog and a Monster. The smaller of the two just manages to slip in while his eyes are on the larger for 4 damage.
The puppy Noro has in a death cuddle tries valiantly to escape, to no avail.
Noro up
Noro_Kas
mybe I should just let go and let the dogs pile up on Johnny. after the comments. or just handle it in Noro's usual way
grapple continues: 1d20 + 7 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 5 = 32
damage: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Noro squeezes the dogs neck forcing the animal to the ground gasping for air its wind pipe being crushed under her vice like grasp.
can you crit a grapple attempt for damage?
Noro_Kas
well it still does not allevieate putting "Johnny on the spot"
you really are teasing a barabarian that uses her rage to deal with bullying/hazing? (she has the bullied trait)
GM Choon
With a whine and a whimper Noro's dog passes out.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Ol' Mum takes advantage of the dog's momentary distraction to roll up to her feet. She dances back and stabs at the dog, scoring a good hit. That brings the beast's attention squarely back to her. It steps to follow, but it's bite is warded by the wood of the long spear's shaft.
Beast looks wounded now. Party up.
Zayid Tumaini
Zayid swats at the smaller dog and dodges away from it in pursuit of the leader-hound. He swings his cudgel again as he steps up, but isn't quite settled and only manages to graze fur.
Attack (flank, PA): 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 10
Bah, silly dice.
Pelgrev
Pelgrev unleashes a primal roar and slams a two-handed hatchet blow down at the dog he is facing. It looks like he is trying to hammer it into the stones of the road.
rage! +2 hp = 15hp, +2 to hit & damage, -2 to AC = AC 11
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10
Nonelethal damage: 1d3 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Except the dice fail me...
Korrith
|
Korrith only registers his injury enough to be enraged at the dogs. Trusting to his resilience against heat and flames, he swiftly crafts and hurls a bomb at the center-most of the dogs menacing him.
Ranged touch attack, though I'm not sure if being point-blank changes that. If Korrith is caught in the explosion (which I'm sure he will be), he has fire resist 5 to shield him from most of the damage.
On phone, can't really do dice expression.
Freia
Seeing as the dogs have finally coalesced into a lump of stinking fur and slavering jaws worthy to be dispersed with magic Freia moves up to the row standing next to Korrith and unleashes her magic. She removes a handful of coloured sand from her component pouch and throws it in the air while chanting:
"Veritas, Credo, Oculos"
There is a brief flash then all the colours of the rainbow dances in the air infront of her - threatening to overpower the senses of the unlucky dogs. That will do it!
Move action, Standard action to cast colour spray (DC 14 will). The spell will render the dogs for:
unconscious, blind, stunned: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
blind, stunned: 1d4 ⇒ 3
and stunned for one final round, assuming HD 2 or less. 3 to 5 HD ignore the unconscious part of the spell :)
Concentration in case the dog hits his AOO, DC = 11+dmg
Concentration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
edit:put some shapes on the battlemap to show where the spell will hit.
@Korrith - still ranged I belive, which means it will provoke! I recomend 5 foot step away from them first.
@Zayid - yeah, sorry! Was a while since I actually had a character mix it up in proper melee
GM Choon
save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
AoO Korrith: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 ⇒ 4
I stand corrected. Re-rolling
The bomb bounces off the Dog's forehead and lands to Korrith's left (if he's facing the target)Take 1 fire damage
As he's throwing, the dog snips at his hand, opening a gash between hardened scales. And 3 more for the unlucky kobold
The bomb has severely wounded the middle and left puppy.
Freia's spell goes off spectacularly. The nearest dog passes out forthwith, but the other two hold their feet, growling in defiance of the pretty lights (on a rolled 16 and 19)
Freia
The bomb goes of just a second after Freia unleashes her spell causing her to recoil away from it. She quickly covers her eyes with her free arm and takes a panicked breath - I think I might have to get used to this ... Dammit! She quickly glances around hoping none of her companions noticed her brief hesitation - but for what she can tell they appear to be adequately distracted by the rest of the pack.
When the dust and smoke settles a split second later she once again turn back to the dogs closest to her - expecting to be greeted by three incapacitated dogs. She gnashes her teeth when she realizes that two of them are still standing tall - despite magic and other mayhem! Atleast they are injured - her talents allow her to determine that much. Sadly, Korrith appears to be hurt aswell...
She growls between her clenched teeth as she prepares another strike:
"Dammit! I've heard that luck usually favours the underdog - but this is silly!"
Johnny Porters
Remember Johnny has never seen Noro in action and is not used to a wrestling something to submission.
Johnny glances over to see Noro squeeze the dog into submission and his eyes go wide with regards to her strength
Wow I stand corrected Noro keep doing what you are doing
Johnny Porters
Johnny swings his morning star at the dog left in front of him and grunts as he swings down on the animal.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Yes let’s clear these things out
Pelgrev
Ariana's up.
Pelgrev starts frothing a bit at the mouth, a reaction to his building rage. He makes low, strangled noises as his struggle with the dog continues.
Ariana Rosencruz
Ari moves up another few feet to Zayid and blasts the giant dog with a color spray. Resilient little bastard, aren't you? Let's see what the handsome one can do with a blade if you're on the ground mewling as a pup!
DC 16 Will save
2HD or less and he is unconscious, blinded and stunned for 2 2d4 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 rounds then blinded and stunned for 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds and then stunned for 1 round. 3-4 HD ignores the unconscious, 5+ ignores everything but the 1 round stun.
Ariana Rosencruz
Don't mind Ari, I just forgot that the non-casters of the team exchanged weapons for cudgels and saps.
You'd think dogs would be more susceptible to mind-affecting magic...sorry for being so useless so far.
GM Choon
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
A flurry of bites results in a series of lucky dodges, deft deflections, and relieved sighs. Except for Noro. She dodges a nip from the left only to get a bite from the right for 4. The dog behind Zayid steps up to attack, but barely misses.
Noro up
Noro_Kas
Well that just piss Noro off. almost as much as someone making fun of her fighting style.
Noro glares at the dog that bit into her and growls back as she gives the animal a low kick across the bloody jaw so it will mix her blood with its own. most likely snapping the poor dogs neck and killing it.
attack with rage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 1d3 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
HP: 13 / 17
AC: 11
Rage used 1 / 6
GM Choon
The dog doesn't even know what hit him as he skids across the ground into a heap.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Ol' Mum and the Beast dance a little before the beast lunges. Ol' Mum evades the bite easily, but cannot bring her spear to bear in time to counter attack. They both end up where they started, and are still completely absorbed with each other, eyes locked.
Party up. if someone could update the map, I'd appreciate it. The Dog behind Zayid moved up into flanking and the dog to Noro's right is out of commission.
Zayid Tumaini
Zayid swings his club at the big dog once more, dodging out of the smaller dog's way as he does so. "Come on..." he whispers, wishing himself luck.
Attack (flank, PA): 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 19
Non-lethal Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Updated the map for you as described.
Pelgrev
Pelgrev sidesteps the dog's lunge, and fires a sharp strike towards its rib cage.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
Nonlethal: 1d3 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
rage 2 rounds. AC 11
Apparently I roll no better virtually than IRL...
Freia
Freia steps over the unconscious body of the dog her magic actually worked on and attempts to strike down one of the more resilient critters. Her swing connects with a satisfying 'thud' and the dog collapses on the ground.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage roll: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
edit: Removed dog (the one to the right of Korrith since it had less then 5 hp), moved Freia
Johnny Porters
After watching Noro kick the brain right out of the dog Johnny’s jaw drops, Holy crap Noro remind me not to get on your bad side. That is most impressive.
Johnny moves up alongside of Noro and smashes down at the lone remaining dog around them.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Well that should take care of the last one over here
Korrith
|
Korrith is looking less than healthy. He laughs somewhat madly and tries to clobber the last of his dogs with his morningstar.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + (2, 2) = 8
Ariana Rosencruz
Ari's pretty much out of anything useful. I forgot say she was prepping a second sleep spell in her free slot once we found out about the dogs so..
The wizard cranks back her crossbow and tries shooting the biggest dog. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 1d8 ⇒ 2.
I can only post usually once a day, if you have to wait on my turn just have Ari roll a crossbow attack ^^
GM Choon
Ari confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9
For all her arcane prowess, it takes a trusty old crossbow for Ariana to make the difference. Her bolt flies true and pierces the Beast's neck just above the shoulders. It shudders with a pained whine and staggers away from the fight, blood seeping from the wound.
The other dogs follow their alpha, running to keep pace with the massive strides of the larger dog.
Alpha and pups all take withdraw actions to the north and west toward Underbridge. Youall have about a round before I move onto crowd reactions. You may pursue if you wish. You are just over one full round of movement behind the dogs. You will need to make some checks to catch the faster, more agile animals.
Or you can choose to present the dogs you have. None have been killed, though all have been seriously wounded and/or battered.
