Pelgrev |
Pelgrev moves off looking for any Shoanti who are working in the area.
If he finds one:
Untrained Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

I'm afraid I have little to do here. Korrith is not exactly a subduer, so he'd probably just hang around being confused.
Use your imagination! Animals dislike loud noises, no? Herd them. You might even find another kobold here-abouts you could put the Kobold moves on for info. Who knows?
Korrith |
Korrith, not really knowing how to help, simply walks with Pelgrev. Eventually he gets bored and mixes up one of his unstable concoctions, and throws it at a very empty area of the street.
BOOM!
Trying to flush out dogs! Only way I can think of to help, just to scare the crap out of them. Of course, Korrith doesn't think things through beyond "make things explode," and he probably scared the human populace as well. I'm helping!
Noro_Kas |
Noro follows along to the docks wondering the best way to subdue dogs.
thish mashk hidesh my identity, and theshe docks are my old shtomping ground when I firsht arrived here. maybe I can get lucky and find an old "aquaintenance"
Noro scans the dock areas for any dockworker she may had worked with or possibly fought with.
perception to find: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Noro approaches I hear the iron Maiden ish back she subtly asks or more like a statement of fact.
intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Noro_Kas |
Noro steps out and approaches the worker. with a bit of a chuckle.
relaxh, I ain't efter you, thish time. rumor is there are shome dogs runnin around the dock, and I don't mean you lot.
She step closer to the worker. cracking her knuckles you know anything about it?
need another intimidate?
GM Choon |
Nah, you scared this guy straight to helpful.
He starts backing and studdering. Your appearance out of the blue has really shaken him.
I don't know nothin' I swear! Them dogs makin trouble out by 'Ol Mum's place, the crazy old lady with the tavern near the Tears new buildin'. East docks.
Noro_Kas |
Noro does not push any further.
mosht helpful. we'll have to share a drink shometime Noro backs away .
just as he breathes a sigh of relief she turns back real fast with a little jump Boo!
she then laughs and heads back to the group.
As Noro returns to the group
To 'Ol Mum's Place, Easht Docksh
she motions for whoever is there to follow.
Zayid Tumaini |
Zayid returns to the appointed meeting place, keeping his eyes out for dog-sign or trouble. Picking a spot a few dozen feet from the appointed location, he settles in to wait for the cudgels.
Freia |
Freia is content to just look around and see if she can spot any traces of the dogs - or even the canines themselves! After the brief excursion she returns to the meetingspot and sees that both Zayid and Noro is already there.
"So you found something then Noro? But should we not wait for the others?"
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Ariana Rosencruz |
After Noro brings her information back, Ariana will try to recall what she knows of the history of the town, and maybe help the group figure out where exactly "Old Mum's" may be. (I know Know: Local is probably a better bet for this..but sh doesn't have that!)
Know (history): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Pelgrev |
Pelgrev returns to the meeting point. He hears Noro's direction, and nods.
East. Yes. Pack leader is man eater, they say.
He looks at the others, then at the sun's position.
Sorrow back soon. Who use net? This one use fists.
He cracks his knuckles and stretches in anticipation of the upcoming workout.
Korrith |
Methinks I'm not going to be too helpful here. Unless it's possible to make kabooms nonlethal, something my research has come up empty on.
Johnny Porters |
Johnny looks at Pelgrav and shakes his head in a joyful affirmative.
Excellent idea there my friend Korrith will throw nets you two punch the dogs and i will use my weapons to subdue them.
Looking at the mwgic wielding ladies Johnny says. And I am sure your talents can be used most effectively.
Freia |
Freia nods at Johnny and replies:
"If I were to get close to them, I could probably try to disable them with my magic. And then we can beat em up!"
Well - hopefully...
"Regarding the net or sap question I could probably go either. Since I'll have to get close to work my magic I'm thinking the club. Don't want stand next to a rabid dog without any weapon ..."
Freia radiates a mix of worry and excitement. It is clear that she enjoys that the group is working together in this, but also slightly worried about getting tangled up with the beasts. However - the others professional behaviour seems to ease her mind.
I have color spray prepared, if I can get a few within the tiny cone they are toast - assuming they won't make their saves ^^
GM Choon |
Absentia arrives shortly thereafter and hands out a wooden cudgel to each of you. She hears your reports and instantly recognizes the tavern Noro describes.
That's Ol' Mam Grottle. Runs the Old Fang tavern. If she's mixed up in this we had better hurry before she takes this into her own hands.
Absentia hurriedly leads you through the docks back toward the Order and the Old Fang. Her purposeful strides part the early morning crowds that are starting to flow from the homes to the docks for morning shifts.
You hear a commotion around the Old Fang before you see it. People are screaming and running, some toward the tavern and some away. The bustle slows you a bit as people jostle and bump into you. They are clearly more concerned with whatever is happening at the Old Fang than you.
When you finally force your way through the crowd wall, you see a cheap inn built right on the docks and covered in barnacles below and
peeling white paint above. Standing in front is a burly matron armed with a longspear. She is staring down a massive beast of a dog that is standing over a wounded sailor. It's head is lowered and teeth barred threateningly, but Ol Mam Grottle isn't backing down. Surrounding the scene are no less than a dozen smaller, half-starving dogs, all with hackles raised and teeth barred.
Link to fight is here. You all should be able to edit your positions as you need.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Johnny: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Noro: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Pelgrev: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Freia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Zayid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Ariana: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Korrith: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Dog's AC is 13
Big Dog's AC is 14
Init:
Big Dog
Ol' Mum
------
Pelgev
Zayid/Johnny
Ariana
Korith
Freia
------
Little Dogs
------
Noro
Edit: Added Big Dog's AC
GM Choon |
The Beast Dog and Ol' Mum get into it almost immediately. The Dog lunges, is almost skewered on the longspear, then dances back, circling the lady with a menacing grow. Ol' Mum stands her ground, never breaking eye contact with the ferocious canine.
Party (except noro) up.
Poor Noro
Zayid Tumaini |
I don't seem able to edit the map... Zayid's moving left 5' and north 30' (total of 30' move). Shouldn't provoke.
Zayid charges into the fray, swinging his club at the dog with the intent of disabling it quickly.
Attack (PA): 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 1 = 11
Nonlethal: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Pelgrev |
Pelgrev drops the sap, and charges at the closest dog. His assault is strangely silent, but the vicious punch thrown at the dog's head is no less violent.
Charge: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Nonlethal: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
AC-2 for charging, so Pelgrev's AC is 11 this turn. The dogs are flat footed, correct? Will this affect their AC?
Korrith |
I have a cunning plan. Also, I'm assuming that he was holding a sap, because I just remembered an important alchemist class feature.
Korrith eyes the old woman and runs to get in a direct line with her.
Then he pops the cork out of one of his vials and begins drinking.
Strength mutagen activated! This bolsters his Str, knocks his Int down a peg and gives him some natural armor. NIfty!
Johnny Porters |
Johnny move up and swings his morning star at a dog trying not to kill it as he grabs his short sword in his off hand.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
worrying so much about not killing the dog has left Johnny missing the target.
Darn this thing next time i won't hold back
Freia |
They are too spread out! If I were to try and subdue them with magic I would just get one or two out of the pack. Better wait and see if they converge...
Freia charges the dog to the right of Zayid and Pelgrev, closing ranks with them. Just before striking, she imbues the cudgel with arcane power - causing it to glow menacing and crackle with static electricity.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
The blow goes wild and fails to connect with the mangy dog - invokeing a quick stream of curses from Freia.
Swift action to enhance the sap, full round action to charge. AC is now 14 until next round
Ariana Rosencruz |
Ariana will drop sleep on the big dog. Sweet Dreams, hound.
DC 16, assuming its not close enough to it to hit as well. She'll orient the aoe so it hits the dog, but not Ol' Mum.
GM Choon |
Ariana: Sleep is a 1 rd. cast time. Big Puppy falls asleep (if he fails his save) on your turn next round. On the plus side, you might get a little dog too! :)
The little dogs all bound after the attackers in defence of the pack!
Pelgrev: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Zayid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Freia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Korrith: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Johnny1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Johnny2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage Freia: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
damage Johnny: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The dogs move in as one, surprisingly coordinated for a bunch of strays and mongrels. They all converge and strike, but, between luck and skill, most of you remain unhurt. Freia is caught off balance after her charge and the dog manages to get a nip in under her defence (2 damage). Johnny, however, is getting out-maneuvered and separated from the rest of the party. He fends off his first dog's strike, but is out of position for the second mongrel's bite, and takes a nasty gash in the leg (4 damage).
Pelgrev, Zayid, Freia, and Korrith all took an attack, Johnny took two.
Johnny Porters |
Flinching as the dog bites into him Johnny yells at the dogs.
I promise nothing these beasts shall die
Noro_Kas |
going last sometimes sucks.
Noro take the time to take in the battle before her. looking for the best opportunity to bring some dogs down.
Seeing Johnny get the brunt of dog attacks Noro will move to assist him. quickly striding up beside him.
Noro leaps on the dog wrapping her muscled arms around the animals neck trying to force it down, and out of the fight.
grapple attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Johnny Porters |
Seeing Noro grab a hold of the dog and wrestle it to the ground Johnny looks on in amazment.
Taje it down Noro take it down
GM Choon |
Noro tackles the little dog to the ground hard, provoking a panicked little whine from the surprised puppy.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Ol' Mum braces herself for the next lunge from the horse-sized beast dog. Soon enough it comes. Her ready spear merely glances off its thick hide, however. With a rumbling bark the beast kncocks Ol' Mum to the ground and takes a chunck out of her left shoulder for good measure. Ol' Mum remains defiant. She continues to stare down the gullet of her attacker.
Wolf rolled a 16 on the save vs sleep. Little doggie right behind it rolled significantly less. I'm currently posting from my phone, so I'll move the big dog next to Ol' Mum and remove that little dog behind it as soon as I get home. Unless one of youall want to do it. For some reason the IPhone won't let you move objects in a drawing. It likes scrolling too much.
Group 1 up. (Noro is her own group, naturally.)
Freia |
"Son of a ...!" Being bitten is not a pleasant experience and Freia responds with a curse - but stops mid sentence as she realizes that this curse wont really insult a dog ... Heh - he is probably just that ...
She briefly considers using her magic to subdue the dog - but the sight of the large pack still waiting on the right flank makes her pause. Probably better if I hold on to the spell a little longer
Before she makes another attempt at wacking the hound infront of her she notices that Korrith is in an advantageous position. She calls to Korrith - hoping that he can spare a moment to outflank the dog she is currently fighting.
"Hey! Korrith! Mind spareing a moment and help me flank this rug ?"
If Korrith can spare a moment to take a 5-foot step to flank the dog Freia is fighting she would be grateful. He could probably do this after whacking his dog if he desires : )
Attackroll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
+2 and no dex if Korrith flanks
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Pelgrev |
Pelgrev launches another powerful blow at the dog he struck previously.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Nonlethal: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
I'm hoping to KO the dog and free Zayid to go after the pack leader.
